I was asked to try out a new program using a personal trainer. I agreed to try it one day a week to see if I liked it. I was the first person to sign up with the new manager Sydney. I asked if I could cancel anytime. She assured me it was just a week to week training. It was early March I believe. I was out of town on April 18 when I fell and broke my hip. After I had surgery I texted ****** to tell her what happened and to let her know how happy I was that she made me work my upper body and how it was helping me move in my hospital bed. I also let her know that of course I couldnt do training and would let her know when I was better . She agreed. After a week I noticed the invoice was sent and paid ( direct from my account). I asked ****** why I was charged. She said she would look into it. She said she put a pause on the training. After a couple weeks I asked her again why it was taken out. She stated she didnt know I could only pause the training a month and gave me the number for her manager *******************. I called her and she stated that was in the contract. I told her I never saw or signed a contract. She said it was a verbal contract, and it was for a year. There was no word about that when I agreed to the training. ****** stated to me she didnt know that. ***** stated she had video of me signing up. I said that was great and Id like to see it. She just laughed. I knew they are a franchise but I called corporate. She said she would call and talk to her. ***** called me after corporate called. Laughing. Saying they dont have to do anything that corporate says so Im out of luck. Said I could buy out of the contract for $540. And if I didnt pay that or pay for the remainder of the year she would send it to collections. I did change it so they couldnt take money out. Today she emailed me and said she was sending the $880 I owe to collections.
