I went in on Thursday June 8th for a full set of Acyclic Nails. I noticed cloudiness the next day but I was working. More nails turned cloudy and by Monday June 12th one nail came off. I phoned ***** who did my service and informed her of my issues. I was informed she could not see me until sometime the following week.Tuesday June 13th more nail issues. I again phoned ***** and she could not see me until Saturday the 17th. I work weekends so could not do this. I asked for a refund and explained I have photos and was told she needed to ask the owner who is only in on Tuesday and Thursday.Thursday June 15th I received a call from Island Tropics and was asked to send photos through Text Message so I did. As of June 15th I had to remove all nails due to chipping and did not want any fungus to occur. Did not receive any response so I sent a text on Friday June 16th with no response. Again sent a Text on Tuesday June 20th. Wednesday June 21st received a Text stating I could have a $45.00 credit at the salon. At this point I sent a Text stating I do not feel comfortable going back to this business after all these issues and very little help and lack of response. I received a text the same day stating they would speak to the owner the following day.Thursday June 22nd I phoned and finally spoke to the owner and explained I do not feel comfortable coming back and she told me she would return 1/2 of what I paid because she already paid ***** for doing my service. I stated I would like a full refund and would not accept 1/2. She then wanted me to Text that to her and I refused.I again said I would like a full refund back.I paid for a service and it was not good. I did tell her I would take the issue further and she said go ahead and then hung up on me.Not a good business practice and not right.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[I was informed by ************ had to wait over a week to get in when I first spoke to her on the 12th. My nails started lifting off on the 9th of June after getting them on the 8th. By June 12th they started coming off. I could not wait over a week. I have gotten my nails done for over 25 years with no issues. I also was told I could not receive a full refund which is what i wanted. The owner was very rude. Working in the restaurant industry has nothing to do with the quality of service I received. Had she offered to get me in within 2 days that would have been great, but I could not take a chance of any fungus to my nails by having to wait over a week when they were lifting and coming off. I would only like to receive an entire refund of $45.00 and not the 1/2 refund I was offered.]
