1 starAIG Travel Guard Insurance is a scam . I bought the insurance through ******* and had to cancel my flight due to my mother being hospitalized the day before the flight. Even after completing all the paperwork, which is ridiculous, they still denied my claim. The customer service is also rude!!Review fromKelana J

1 starTravel Guard insurance is not worth it. There was civil unrest and terrorism going on in the country we were traveling to and they would not cover the cost of the tickets or cancellation fees. we explained that the US embassy and other embassies were shutting down and organizations were evacuating the area. they don't care. they just want your money and say they will cover these types of incidents - but they wont. travel insurance is a joke and waste of money.Review fromJim M

Buyer Beware. I had to have emergency surgery to put in a pace maker and had to miss my own 75th birthday celebration on a chartered sailboat in November. i also had a. pre-existing condition waiver. I have been trying to TALK to a real person and continue to get someone that cannot really answer your clams questions. When asked to speak to a representative in this country, the callback comes from Alacrity who handles their claims process. You then get a callback from an unknown number, which I do not take, and CANNOT call them back. You receive a nice letter saying how sorry they are to have miss your call, but you CANNOT even email them back. To me this a scam and they want you to give up. Again buyer beware!!! The process. is VERY frustrating. My experience would be zero, if I could give. a zero.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

Travel Guard uses a highly-deceptive claim submission form that leads consumers to believe that the reason they are giving for filing a claim is valid, when, all the while, it is not valid under the terms and conditions of the actual policy. This form of entrapment may be legal but it is highly unethical, especially when considering that a given customer may have more than one potentially valid reason to file a claim. Unfortunately, the companys policy to never admit blame or acknowledge nuance, ambiguity or flaws in their system only makes matters worse. Outsourced phone representatives with strong accents and little authority only underscores the complete contempt this company has for the customer, organized labor and fairness in general. Dont put your trust in them.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

I am in possession of a silly and sterile reply to my complaint from Travel Guard's parent company, ***. The reply states that my insurance claim was denied because the reason I gave for cancelling my trip isn't covered under the policy. Of course, this has nothing to do with my actual complaint. The Better Business Bureau doesn't handle consumer complaints regarding the unfair denial of insurance claims anyway, which is why slimy insurance companies like *** enjoy a high BBB rating despite righteously-poor customer reviews pouring in without interruption. A supervisor at *** actually attempted to give me a refund for my travel insurance premium but was overruled within her own company! *** is evil and should be avoided. The prosecution rests.Review fromJeanett B

I am extremely disappointed with AIG Travel Guard's handling of my travel insurance claim and feel compelled to share my experience. I purchased a policy as I was traveling with young kids and was spending quite a bit on an international trip to see my parents after 5 years apart due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, when we had to change our flights due to my son's sudden illness, AIG Travel Guard denied my claim, despite me calling them multiple times before canceling and ensuring my travel plan changes would be covered. My wife and I have been communicating with them for months now submitting all required documentation and making our case. Despite all of our efforts, AIG Travel Guard has refused to handle this correctly. I am still hopeful AIG Travel Guard steps up and does the right thing.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

Coverage decisions are made according to the terms and conditions of the Policy of Insurance. During the several phone calls between you and our representatives, we explained the coverage and plan details with you. After speaking with our Claims Department, we understand a claim was paid for the change fee you incurred when you changed to the new trip dates. The amount for the additional trip costs accrued for booking the new trip were properly denied as these expenses do not fall within one of the covered expenses under your policy; therefore, the claim was properly adjudicated. We recommend travelers familiarize themselves with the policy and exclusions before purchasing a policy. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please give us a call anytime at **************.Review fromJames L

I booked a trip on ******* and obtained trip insurance with AIG. It was for a business event my company had put together. The event was canceled about a week later. You would think trip insurance would cover unforeseen events like this but AIG refused to honor their policy. So typical for an insurance company. I will never do any business with these jerks again . I’m surprised that ******* deals with them to begin with. Stay far away from this company!!Travel Guard Group, Inc.

I purchased flight insurance for a United flight for a trip in February 2025. I never received confirmation. On the United website it shows that I purchased it. I also have proof on my credit card. I called them today and they told me it was for a different flight that I took on ***************** back in November 2024, and that the policy was no longer valid. The confirmation number on my United flight matches what they have, but for American. How is this even possible? I will never use them again. The supervisor called me and told me they are reviewing my case, but they basically said I would need to purchase it again. Nope! I have never complained about a company but I felt other people needed to know how they run their business.Travel Guard Group, Inc.

I paid for an insurance for no reason! I told him so many times I couldnt go to the travel for personal and health reasons that I already told them, (and one of the reasons they explained in their policy), but unfortunately, they decline my refund so many times. I took the trip with Uplift for $500., so I have to give that money back I was explaining that was not my money that was a third-party company that I have to give the money back, but they never solve the problem. I really needed that refund, but they never care. Because of all of that, I went through depression the whole year affect my emotions and my health. I will never ever take this insurance ever again and I dont recommend to purchase this policy to anyone. Please dont do it. Its not worth it.!!!!!!!!!!!Travel Guard Group, Inc.
