On 26 May 2023, My son and I flew from ************** to purchase a vehicle from ENE Motors. I spent over $500 on our plane tickets to get us there. I had called a few days before, and informed the sales person of my interest in a specific vehicle. I told him I was going to get pre-approval through my credit union (Navy ********************** which I did. Once I was pre-approved, I called my sales person back and told him I was booking my flight. When I arrived at the dealership on the morning of 27 May , I test drove the car. I was excited. We go back to the office to complete the paperwork. When we started to discuss payment, I was told that ENE Motors does not take out of state bank drafts. Even though there is a Navy ******************** 30 away from the dealership. They told me to go to Navy Federal and get a cashier's check, but when I called Navy Federal they told me they can't issue a cashier's cack for an auto loan. Needless to say i didn't purchase the car.My sales rep should have informed me of this fact BEFORE my son and I got on the plane to come there. I was heartbroken. I had to buy plane tickets for my son and I to return home for almost $500. $1,000 down the drain thanks to ENE Motors!!!Business Response

It is unfortunate that Navy Federal would not issue you a cashier's check. We offered to give you a ride to and from the Navy Federal branch in ** (there is none in state of WI) to get the cashiers check. Unfortunately, your lender Navy Federal would not issue the cashier's check to you and take accept their own draft check. We were never informed that you were bringing a draft check as most credit unions issue a cashier's check for auto loans, we even sent you a purchase contract with detailed pricing and the exact amount due as that is what lenders need to issue a cashier's check. A draft check is an open check with no specific amount and not guaranteed funds. Being that you are multiple states away our company policy due to insurance protections for fraud and other state laws does not protect us in anyway if the draft check were to not clear or come back days later. You should reach out to Navy Federal and request for them to take care of your travel expenses as they were not able to help and did not initially explain properly what a draft check is and that not every business accepts them from out of state customers. We did give you a ride to the airport and did offer other options however you were not either able to do them or did not want to. We wish none of this happened and your lender Navy Federal would have entrusted you with a cashier's check and accepted Their Own draft check but they could not.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
ENE Motors must not understand how to deal with bank drafts for auto loans from banks. I was able to go to anothor auto dealership, which was several states from me, and they knew what to do/how to process the bank draft. ENE Motors needs to educate themselves so that no other customers experience what I did. Either, ENE Motors just did not want to take a valid bank draft from a well-known and well-respected banking institution, or they didn't want to sell the car to me. Either way, the only person impacted was me. I explained that I was getting pre-approved by my bank. That meant that I was getting pre-approved up to a certain dollar amount that i couldn't go over. I couldwrite the checkfor any dollar amount under that. NO ONE ever informed me that I needed to bring a cashier's check. If I were informed of that fact, i NEVER would have traveled yo the dealership. So, ENE Motors lack of communication cost me $1000. Its easy to blame the customer, which is ************************** is doing. That fact that ENE Motors fails to acknowledge wrong doing further proves that they are not a good company, and buyers should beware.

Every dealership has their own policies and every state has different laws which may or may not protect dealers/consumers in certain circumstances when they release a vehicle such as this Maserati without funds. We do not take draft checks, pre-approval letters, draft ************. from out of state customers and let them take the vehicle. We do take them and hold the vehicle until those funds have cleared, however, we were never notified that you were bringing a draft check. Again I would ask Navy Federal to help out as they would not cash or take the draft check they gave you and issue a cashier's check. We wish you the best of luck and God Bless!Customer Answer

It is clear ENE Motors has no idea of the process or how to handle draft checks from banks. If I were informed of your policy beforehand, I would not have traveled. Education is the key for good customer service. I informed my sales rep that I was getting pre-approved throughmy bank. If a cashier's check was need, then he should have said that when I communicated that I was pre-approved. ENE Motors should know what happens when customers are pre-approved through their bank or credit union. It is clear that ENE Motors does not want to acknowledge their failure in this situation. No matter, I purchased a better Maserati Ghibli from a better dealership with my out of state draft check from Navy ********************* They were educated and knew what they were doing. ENE Motors did not.

I purchased a 2012 jeep wrangler from ene motors within the last two weeks. During the sale i was told nothing was wrong with the vehicle and that they recently inspected it and nothing was wrong either. I put down $******* on the vehicle and after driving it off the lot not 2 days later there was squealing coming from the engine and the check engine light came on. I called them and they told me to bring the jeep back and they would fix it. They charged me approximately $300.00 to fix the serpentine belt, rod tensioners, other parts and reset my check engine light saying it was an o2 sensor and nothing else was wrong. Not a couple days after getting my car back from ene motors the check engine light came back on and the noise from the engine bay came back. For two weeks now i am unable drive this car for safety concerns. I took my car to the jeep dealership on sept 2 and they are charging me over $1000.00 to fix the serpentine belt rod tensioners other parts and etc and the check engine light which turns out is the gas tank/cap an issue of old parts. Ene motors said they fixed the vehicle which i had to leave with them over night because they had to order new parts however i am now by the jeep dealership told that old parts where put on the jeep and they had to fix what ene motors claimed to have repaired. I am also told three tires on the vehicle have to be replaced which is approximately $1500.00 as it appear that ene motors took off three of the original car tires and put old ones on as three tires match in brand and one did not and the two front tires had good tread while the back ones and spare tires were worn almost bald. I will not have my vehicle for another week which will make almost three weeks total not having a vehicle and having to borrow a family member car costing me $500.00 to get back and forth to work. I am requesting ******* back to cover repairs i have to get done, suffering of not having a vehicle and stress from safety concerns.Business Response

We are sorry to here you are not happy, however, many of these issues could have been solved by coming to us. The customer purchased the vehicle as-is, without any warranty and due to it being over ******* miles it is not one of our certified vehicles that includes warranty. The customer elected to not purchase a service contract to be protected. The customer took the Jeep to a Jeep dealership 2 days after purchase where they had an inspection completed, which they let us know about. The Jeep dealership did not recommend any services or see any issues with the Jeep. The customer told us this and we later called and confirmed with a service advisor from the dealership. Obviously, the Jeep was sold without having any issues at time of sale and shortly after as confirmed by another dealership the customer sent the Jeep to. Weeks later the customer reached out about a noise and engine light came on the Jeep. We told her to bring it by the dealership. She did and we gave her a loaner vehicle, at no charge! In the meantime, we replaced the serpentine belt, belt tensioner & idler pulleys (NEW OE quality aftermarket parts backed by parts manufacturer warranty) to fix the noise issue, along with Evap Emissions System Leak Detection Pump (Common Jeep issue) and used a NEW OEM part from local Jeep dealer as that was all that was available locally. We never installed used parts and we called City Jeep that recently serviced the Jeep. They specifically said that the parts were recently replaced with aftermarket however they did not say anything about them being used parts. I can see from the attached email how the customer may think they said used parts because they stated "Aftermarket parts being used" they did not mean that we actually bought used aftermarket parts. I've never heard of any place even selling used serpentine belts! Apart from all this **** reached out to the customer to bring the Jeep here so we could address the issues or bring us back the old parts so we could get them warrantied thru the parts manufacturer. The customer has not done either and without the old parts we can't get them warrantied out in case of failure. Also, we did not reset the check engine light for an o2 sensor or did anything with an o2 sensor. The check engine light was on due to the Evap Emissions System Leak Detection Pump which we replaced and the check engine light went off on its own. Also had we just reset the light or not done those repairs or the o2 sensor was bad the vehicle would have never passed emissions a week after at a different shop, which also found no issue with the vehicle. As for the Tires we did not remove the tires or replace them with other brands or take 3 out of 4 tires (I mean why wouldn't we take all 4 tires but only 3 lol). Also it's very convenient that everything adds up to the exact amount of $3,500 which is same as down payment customer put to finance the Jeep. We never like having an unhappy customer however we can only help so much and when there are false allegations and insinuating we are stealing used tires and using used belts, that's not even worth our time to monkey around with used parts! We wish you the best!Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appearENE motors is being untruthful. per the Jeep dealership There were faulty parts, put onto the jeep which was a huge safety concern, and a careless disregard from my well-being by ENE motors. When I first purchased the jeep I was told there was nothing wrong with the truck. There was initially no noise and no engine light visible, or heard on the jeep, **** and ENE motors boss told me repeatedly there was nothing wrong and any questions I had. They argued with me and told me there was nothing wrong which was the only reason I purchased wrong with the jeep and traded in my only vehicle and mode of transportation. after only two days, driving the jeep, the engine light came on and there was noise coming from the engine, which I did not know there was something majorly wrong. the jeep dealership which I had to pay triple the amount to fix the problem told me that if I drove a couple more miles with the jeep in its condition, I couldve been in a major accident, which couldve cost me my life I called ene motors and left emails multiple times telling them to rectify the problem to which I took the jeep back to Union Grove multiple times per their instructions and they put faulty parts on the vehicle charging me $300 and did not fix it Im asking to be compensated for the jeep dealership repairs for $1006 to fix the safety concerning problems and also to replace all five tires which per the jeep dealership were bald Im also requesting $500 which I had to pay to borrow a car as it was not safe to drive my only transportation, which was the jeep for approximately a month. Im also requesting compensation for pain and suffering as it was a major inconvenience in my life. attached are documents from the jeep dealership and also the five tires I had to purchase. If this is not rectified they will be hearing from my lawyer and fox6 news.
