After a horrible experience at there ********* ** Auction selling my truck. That was filled wis misinformation and lies I have called several times I have asked to speak with a supervisor 3 times was told they would email someone my concerns. Finally I get Joe on Monday who promised me my check was in the mail. Well here we are Saturday. No Check. I was told when they signed me up I would be paid within 10 days of the auction After 14 days I called and was told no we start sending checks out in groups after 14 days. After the 16 I called asked for a supervisor and was told No it’s 3 weeks. They take your vehicle and Can Not tell you when or how you will be paidMecum Auctions

It is our goal to get Seller's paid in a timely manner and we apologize for not meeting your expectations. The *************************************************************************************** getting a large majority of the vehicles sold. Once the auction concludes our ********************* is hard at work processing all of the Seller checks. This process entails *****'s of check's so it does take take time to get them all mailed out. Again, we are happy that you chose Mecum Auctions to sell your vehicle and glad that you were able to sell it in *********.Review fromAbraham K

Terrible company. Sold my Mustang and Ferrari with Mecum, they will change the terms of agreement on the auction block. The hold your money for more than 21 days, and be unresponsive while keeping your money and your vehicle. All of the one star reviews say something about the conduct of Mecum Auctions.

This Customer consigned a Vehicle at a ********************** Auction. Prior to the Auction in question, this Customer executed an Auction Listing Contract that governed his Vehicle consignment. Customer represented to ********************** that he was the owner of the Vehicle with free and clear title. However, the Vehicle was actually subject to a six-figure lien by his financial institution. Customers Auction Listing Contract expressly states: A non-negotiable title will result in payment being delayed until an acceptable title certificate is received by Mecum.Mecum presented the Vehicle for live and remote auction bidding, subject to a reserve price set by the Customer as part of his Auction Listing Contract. If bidding did not reach the reserve price, the Vehicle would not be *********** interest and demand among the bidding public was insufficient to reach the Customers chosen reserve price. When bidding stalled, pursuant to Mecums custom and practice, Mecum proposed a Block Deal with the Customer on the auction stage, pursuant to which, if the Customer agreed to release the reserve price, he would net $190,000 from the Vehicles sale. Customer found these terms acceptable and agreed to release the reserve. After the reserve was released, bidding continued and the Vehicles high bid was ultimately more than $190,000. Within a few days of the Vehicles sale, Mecum deducted the amount needed to satisfy the lien on the Vehicles title from the auction proceeds and issued a check to the lienholding financial institution. However, the lienholding financial institution did not cash the check for two weeks, and took another two weeks after that to send Mecum the Vehicle certificate of title. The day after Mecum received the title, Mecum sent the Customer a check for the amount of the auction proceeds due to him, via overnight mail. The day after the Customer received the check, he cashed it.Customer is technically correct that ********************** change[d] the terms of agreement on the auction block but omits mentioning that Customer agreed to said changes, and such changes were only proposed because Customers Vehicle was not going to sell, given Customers own reserve price. Similarly misleading is Customers contention that ********************** held the Customers money for more than 21 days while keeping [the] money and [the] vehicle, as Mecum did not receive the Vehicles title from the lienholding financial institution until over a month had passed since the Auction. For obvious reasons, payment was not made absent production of a merchantable title. Payment was issued to the Customer the day after ********************** received the title and Customer deposited the payment in his bank account the day after that. Any delay is attributable entirely to Customer and/or his lienholding financial institution. Customer expressly acknowledged this possibility when he signed the Auction Listing Contract in advance of the Auction.A few weeks after cashing the check, Customer filed a lawsuit against ********************** in **********, contending that he was somehow entitled to auction revenues beyond the $190,000 to which he agreed. The Court ruled in Mecums favor and dismissed Customers case. Not content to only seek money from Mecum to which he is not entitled, Customer now apparently seeks to harm *********************** business reputation for a problem that can only be described as being of Customers own creation.Review fromDAVE B

This has to be the greediest collection of folks I've dealt with in a long time. I bid on several lots of parts and they posted a whopping 25% commission, it's the highest I've ever seen but it was clearly posted so I adjusted my bidding accordingly. $5 per lot fee for what I don't know? But again it was posted so I paid it without complaint. My order is now all ready to ship and now they're charging me $125 for a $5 pallet? I challenged the fee because that charge was not posted anywhere in the terms and conditions. I was told that because the fine print said fees "to be determined" they must have their last profit center fee and can't live without it. By that logic I guess I'm lucky they didn't charge me $5000 for a pallet because they determined that was a fair price? Really awful people that are exclusively focused on greed and not much else. Heidi was super sweet to work with I hope another company that's more reputable will hire her away from this egregious collection of profiteers.

AUCTION PACE IS WAY TOO FAST. ESPECIALLY, ON THE NO RESERVE BIKES. I sold two motorcycles (no reserve) in the January 2022 Vegas auction. The 1960 mustang was confusingly listed as f153.1 in all catalogues & brochures but bike was tagged and sold as f154.1. (Mustang estimate $15k - $29k). The incorrectly listed/tagged mustang was pushed on the block, introduced and then hammered SOLD just 40 seconds later! It sold for a disappointing $9k which was well below the $15k-$29k estimate. At mecum Vegas in April 2021 an almost identical mustang sold for $32k! 40 seconds is all the time mecum gave to selling my bike. In total they made almost $3k for 40 seconds of "work". The fxr harley f117.1 hammered sold in about a minute for $14k, well below its $20k-$30k estimate. Mecum does not take adequate time to get bids for the bikes listed with no reserve... they push them through with as little effort and time spent selling as possible. One rotation on the turn table and that's it! They also line the bikes up wheel to wheel all the way up the block so many bidders don't even know which bike is being auctioned at that moment. Many times I heard the auctioneers telling people... "No, no, you're bidding on THIS bike not THAT one". Mecum makes the auction unnecessarily confusing and chaotic just so they can pump the bikes over the auction block as fast as possible. I get it, you have 1750 motorcycles consigned and you want to sell them ALL in the 5 day auction. And, you don't want to spend 10 hours a day selling them. I think 6-7 hour days were average for this 5 day auction. 300-350 bikes sold in 6-7 hours. That's about a minute or less per bike. Mecum needs to either limit the number of motorcycles in the auction to a manageable number OR make the auction longer. After the auction, a mecum rep called me and asked me if I would sign a bunch of documents allowing them to get another title. It turns out that they somehow LOST THE TITLE I had given them for the motorcycle!Mecum Auctions

We value our customers feedback and strive to meet, and exceed, their expectations. The auction format can be very fast paced however when there is spirited bidding on a particular vehicle rest assured that it will receive extra time on the auction block.Review fromAmy V

1 starAfter purchasing a truck at the *********** Auction December 2nd, it took 87 days to obtain a title. Their motto of making it easy with a simple process and a team guiding you through start to finish is a joke. Several different people in the title department gave us the run around. It appears the pretenses the truck was sold to us, didnt match up with the title. Meanwhile, we were stuck with an unusable, unsellable truck. Only after we obtain legal councel, did we start to receive answers. 87 days later, we finally had a title. Not one apology from Mecum, nor an offer to refund our processing fees. Nothing! What was an amazing, exciting day for our soon to be 16 year old, turned into a very frustrating process. Especially when he was unable to drive the truck on his birthday.Review fromBill D

1 starI purchased a **** **** Mustang at the July 2023 ********** auction. The night before the auction, a giant tent collapsed and tore a hole in the roof, dented the trunk area and broke trim. When bidding on the car, I had no knowledge of this bad damage. I have many pictures and videos of the vehicle right after the storm and the morning after that prove the car was damaged in the storm. The car had many issues that could not be seen from afar. The car was delivered to my house and arrived with a bad battery and bad alternator. The car also was infested with ants and spiders, and had dead mice.Other issues include a bad power window motor and non working power window switches. The car is leaking gas from the gas tank. The air conditioning doesn't work well and is stuck on defrost mode. The horn does not work. The drivers side door will not lock and the power mirror switch missing. I contacted Mecum hoping they would rectify the situation, but they lawyered up and told me they arent doing anything.Review fromKaren B

Go to get a 90 day title and was told they couldnt give me one because they didnt have a title but we sell cars for this dealer all the time so Ill have it this week and overnight it to you. Been given the run around since. Lie after lie. Its sept 15, 2023 and still dont have a title. They sold me a shady car w no title and lied from day one.Mecum Auctions

Delay was the result of a duplicate title applied for by the Seller. The state in which it was applied for was backlogged and created an unforeseen delay. As a customer courtesy ********************** refunded the Buyer Fee for the delay.Review fromGeoffrey (Jeff) M

2 starsThe Televised Glendale Action was a joke to watch. They had the bidders at the auction almost on top the stage, so when the cars stopped to be sold the TV cameras couldn't see the cars, because the people in the way. Also, that guy in the Stars and Stripes cowboy had and jacket, should be moved elsewhere, I'm tried of always seeing his dumb *** !!!
