On 7/11/2024 I brought my suv to Mr M***** around 6:50 am. I clearly told him I need the ac vacuumed and recharged. I also mentioned all ac components were replaced. He said ok, I gave him the key. He never gave me an invoice or said how much it would cost. So I waited outside on the side of the building for around an hour. Then I seen Mr M***** get in my suv took it in his shop. I wait another 15 mins and went inside and looked and saw that he had more and thought I guess he changed me for what apparently was a diagnostic report without a computerized report. Real professional automotive shops do give accurate diagnostic written reports with the the receipt. But in this case Mr M***** works through his beliefs and not facts. I didn’t even sign any documents stating I agreed to what I got charged for. I actually thought he vacuumed the AC system and recharged it. So I paid the amount. And as I walked outside I looked at the receipt and it states. Labor Service- AC not working compressor and fan not running when AC turned on. Believe engine computer is bad. AC pressure circuit has voltage even when sensor is unplugged reading 400 psi. Should take to the dealer. So I went and told him if he had vacuumed and charged the ac system and he replied NO. I explained that’s what I came for in the first place. He said he would charge me $110 to do it. I was in complete shock and walked away. But I went back because Mr m***** forgot his tool in my vehicle so I returned it to him. I plead with him to do the service that we both agreed in the beginning and he refused unless I paid him. After many hours on researching I found nothing that the computer would cause the problem. So I back and explained and he still refused unless I paid him. Basically he took my vehicle in pretending he was vacuuming and recharging it and did nothing to it and charged me $140. I would just be grateful to get my money back. Sincerely, ****

Mr. **** brought his vehicle to our shop on July 9, 2024. He stated he had replaced all the A/C components and charged the system, but the A/C still didn't work. I pulled the customers car into the shop and hooked up the A/C machine. The gauges read that the system had a charge and should turn on, but the compressor was not turning on. Checked for voltage to compressor clutch and had no voltage. Continued testing wiring relays and fuses. All wiring fuses and relays were good. Hooked up scan tool and checked for codes, car had no current or history codes at this time. While looking at A/C data noticed that computer thought the system pressure was 400 psi. At 400 psi computer will not turn on A/C compressor due to the high pressure. Tested pressure sensor and wiring and found computer was bad. I then explained to the customer what I had done and that the computer would have to be replaced. I also explained that I could not replace the computer because the computer had to be programmed to the car by the dealer. I had worked on the customers car for two hours and only charged him for an hour and a half. He paid his bill and left the shop. The customer returned later that day and said that he had talked to a friend who said my diagnosis was wrong and that the A/C system only needed charged. I once again explained what I had tested and why the computer would not turn on the A/C compressor. The customer wanted me to pull his car back in the shop and charge his system for free. I told him that I would charge his A/C system but he would have to pay for the time and freon. He once again said that his friend told him that the system would work if it was charged and that I did not know how to work on A/C systems. I then made an offer to Mr. **** that I would pull his car back into the shop, charge his A/C system while he stood beside me. If the A/C system worked like his friend said it would, he could leave and I would not charge him for the time or freon. However, if the A/C system did not work after I charged it, he would have to pay for the time and freon. He stated that that would be taking too much of a risk and declined to have me work on the car. I made it clear that I was confident in my diagnosis and that if I was wrong I would apologize and he would not be charged for the service. I will NOT be offering a refund to Mr. ****, as work was performed on his vehicle and an accurate diagnosis was given.
