I had to have the transmission replaced in my 2014 GMC Sierra **** When I arrived at the Sheridan Motors I was greeted by service writer ****** **********. I explained that I had a very harsh 3-4 shift and a delayed reverse shift. I ask that they drop the transmission pan and inspect for metal. They removed the pan and yes metal was abundant. Sheridan Motors advised me I need to replace the transmission, and transmission cooler. I was quoted a price of $7232.08. ****** never generated a repair order for this repair while I was there. Which I thought was very strange. I told them to go ahead and replace both transmission and cooler. When I arrived back at the dealership to pick up the truck, the bill was $7,714.00. I told ****** I would not pay that amount as you quoted me $7232.08 out the door price. ****** had the quote, He went to his service manager and they adjusted the bill. My complaint is this: ******** Labor time to remove and replace the transmission is 7.0 hours. ******** Labor time to remove and replace the transmission cooler is 1.9 hours. A total of 8.9 hours. I ask ****** when he presented me the bill what their labor rate was. He said it varies up to $175.00 per hour. ******** total time 8.9 hours X $175.00= $1,557.50. I was charged $2380.00 which figures out to be ****** hours. I was charged almost double. On the repair order there IS NOT an itemized labor charge for the two repairs, just a total dollar amount. I was also charged $49.95 just to generate the repair order. I want you to also know I am very knowledgeable of this work. This was my profession for 30 years. I worked strictly for ** dealerships starting out as a service technician, then service writer. I Was then promoted to Service Manager and a few years later I was promoted to be the Service and Parts Director. Never in the thirty years of my career did we or any dealership charge you just to write up the repair order. This is outrageous!

Better Business Bureau **** ** ****** **** ** ***** *** **** ******** *** *****  Filing Complaint on: Sheridan Motors **** ****** ***** ********* *** ***** Phone: ************ Fax: ************  Dear Better Business Bureau, I am writing to complain about the inadequate and unsatisfactory service I received from Sheridan Motors. On January 17, 2023, I dropped my truck (*** ****** ****) at one of their service centers for heating repair. Upon receiving my truck, I noticed the heat was still not working and I noticed the mechanic to rectify the problem. I was given the run around after multiple attempts to resolve the situation. I had to bring my truck to another auto repair shop on January 27, 2023 and had to pay additional money, BUT it was finally repaired and working properly. I wonder if this is the standard practice at their shops or is this the usual feedback that they receive from their customers. I find what happened to be unacceptable at all scales and request to be reimbursed the full amount I paid which is $508.31. Enclosed with this letter are related documents (receipt of payments) for your reference and thorough review of my complaint. I hope that I’ll be able to find a satisfactory solution very fast. Yours sincerely, ***** ******** ***

Customer had ordered his own part from the parts department. Once his part had arrived he came to the service department and asked for us to install the part. Advisor asked why he wanted it installed and customer stated that the heat would blow cold all the time. He didn't want us to diagnose the concern at the time and asked for the part ot be installed. Appointment was made and install was compleated. After install of the part that customer requested we found the vehicle still didn't have heat. Advisor asked the customer if he would like us to diagnose the concern, he authorized us to proceed. We found that the vehicle needed a heater core because of some form of internal blockage. Estimate to repair $2063.04 customer declined repairs. Customer requested us to flush and back flush the heater core. We advised that we could try to do the flush but we advised that it may not work as plugged as the heater core is. Customer authorized the repair. We did flush and the heat did come back after flush. Buy the next day it had plugged up again causing system to fail. We advised that the heater core needed replaced. Customer wanted his money back at the time of repair. I stated that our recommendation was to replace the heater core not flush it for this reason. He left and took it too another shop where they had flushed it and had the same results. That shop also recommeded replacement of the heater core. Acoording to the manager they were also being asked for money back and that they were not going to refund. The customer took it too a third shop where they had flushed it with the same recommendation as us and the other shop. I feel we did what the customer had requested against our recommendation
