On 8/24/21, we contacted Kid Pronghorn Ent. (Kurt T*****, President), asking if he could drill us a well. He replied yes but was 2 months out. His proposal on 11/9/2021 included drilling and well construction, pump and pitless installation, waterline trenching to the house, and electricity connected. A $5,000 deposit (check #****) was paid on 11/9/21. In April of 2022, Kid Pronghorn began drilling the well. A new proposal was drawn up, reflecting a new total, due to an increase in the cost of supplies and 3 frost-free hydrants added. On 4/30/22, the remainder of the balance due of $22,706.44 (check #****) was paid, anticipating him finishing the job. While waiting on parts, Kurt had left his backhoe parked at our house and offered full use of his equipment to us. Kurt’s communication with us was very spiritic, so the process to finish the job dragged on for months. His last communication was on 9/19/22. We reached out to him on 12/4/22 when the top of the pipe froze and busted off in the bitter cold, because water had been freely pouring out of the artisan well since he had drilled it in April. No reply. As long as his backhoe was parked at our house, we anticipated him returning to finish the job. But, on 3/10/23, his backhoe was removed while we were not home. We texted Kurt, making him aware that the backhoe was gone. We wanted to see if he had taken it, or if it had been stolen, since Kurt always left the keys in it. No reply was received. An email was sent on 3/27/23 to *********************** and a certified letter sent on 3/28/23 to ** *** **** *** ***** ** *****. **** forwarded the certified letter to Colorado Springs, CO. The only work completed was the well drilled and encased (according to the contractor). The water is still free flowing in our field. We have attempted to contact him in every way we knew how, giving him multiple opportunities to communicate with us and explain his delay.
