April 6, 2024 I checked in to Super 8 in **********, **. part of the ****** hotels and resorts group. I went to pay for my stay and I was told the only forms of payment accepted was credit card or debit ***** I said I didn't want to pay with credit card but I wanted to use my debit card and was told no it wasn't an accepted payment option. I went to get cash from the *** machine and paid cash though I was refused a receipt. Tired I went to my room as I had a very early morning the next day. I turned on the tv to discover it was broken, so I went to call the front desk to discover that the phone was also broken. Within the first 30 min of being in my room a very loud and obnoxious argument was taking place outside my room in the hallway. It was getting worse and worse and I was waiting to see if the staff would intervene or call the police. Nothing seemed to be happening and I was concerned weapons could be involved as the ********* was getting worse by the moment. I called the **** to report what was happening and I was scared to leave my room as well I didn't want any fatalities. Thankfully the police removed the female of the arguing couple and things seemed to settle down. I stepped out for some dinner and as I passed the front desk I asked for assistance in my room to fix the phone and tv. They assured me that they would come fix both things once they had given their statement to the police. I never heard from the front desk again; still had a broken tv and phone. Around 2:30-3:00 am I was abruptly waken by loud *********/hollering, a male's voice, along with pounding on the walls and what sounded like things being thrown. I waited again to see if the staff would intervene, but to no avail, thankfully it sounded like he went outside. I only had a couple hours I was able to sleep until I had to be up. I was looking forward to some coffee to help start my day and I shouldn't have been surprised, the coffee maker in my room was also broken. Beyond frustration, I thought at least I could get a coffee at the continental breakfast they offered, surprise surprise, no such luck. There was a sign stating that the breakfast isn't 6:30-9:30 am but it's been changed to 7:30-9:30. I was suppose to spend 2 nights at this hotel, I paid for 2 nights at this hotel; I left that hotel the next day and I emailed and called Wyndham **************** to lodge a complaint. Their idea of a solution is offering me 5000 Wyndham points and an apology. That isn't even one night stay in any of their hotels, it is merely a discount for one night. I don't have a points account so I requested a refund for my 2 nights that I paid for but only stayed 1 night. The practices of this particular hotel is, to say the least, shady. A few days later I was checking my credit card statement online to discover that the hotel in ********** had also charged the room to my card, plus there was a charge to some company I had never heard of. My credit card has been cancelled and I'm out $180. I am telling my story in order to save someone else the same experience with that hotel in ********** or the Wyndham Corporation, who apparently doesn't care about their customers, just the money.
