I ordered an upright freezer from Coast Appliances (********) and had it delivered last week. The freezer was one of several kitchen appliances that I had ordered. Upon inspection, I noticed that the hinge was badly damaged and bent. I reached out to the sales team member that I had worked with when ordering the appliance. I requested that they arrange to have a replacement freezer delivered because the one they delivered was defective. The sales team told me that they hadn't intentionally sent me a damaged freezer and that it was my responsibility to identify any issues with the appliances upon delivery. When the delivery person was here, he refused to open two of the appliance boxes, making the verification process impossible to complete. The delivery person also didn't install any of the appliances, making it impossible for me to verify their condition upon delivery.Instead of arranging for a replacement freezer, they have directed me to their service department to look into this issue. Any other business that delivered a defective item would have taken the item back and replaced it or provided a refund. Coast Appliances has not made any effort to rectify this situation but instead has passed me off to their call centre.Initial Complaint

I had a dryer delivered to me, which did not work. I did not order a dryer in non working condition, I paid for a brand-new unit with the hopes that it would be in working condition. The store is not understanding that part, and is giving me the run around. All I am asking for is what I have paid for.It has come to a point that it is now affecting my health. I am not asking anything out of the ordinary, the store needs to have some accountability. The appliances were delivered on May 29th, by delivery men who reeked of weed, the they only half installed the washer, which meant that I had to ask someone else to complete the job. (They did refund the installation money).I would just like what I have paid for. I am rejecting this response because:
Even though, they have said they will replace the dryer, there is no communication regarding the installation, I am sick of this going back and forth with them and asking the same questions again and again. I want compensation for the stress that has been caused by them, not to mention the money I have spent washing the clothes at a laundry. Not only should this dryer be free at this point, but I should be paid for the stress that they have caused starting May 29th, and there is no hope of the issue being resolved. I am at a breaking point now. Not only am I never going to go back to them, but they cam except a very honest review of my experience as well.Also, they sent the wrong handles with the stove, which they have said they will send the ones that they were supposed to, however now I will have to pay for that installation as well, as they said it is not up to them to do that. They said they were giving them to me for free, but, I think they miss the point that I had paid for them.
I will never give Coast Appliances my business and nor will anyone I know.

October 20, 2023 I purchased a microwave from Coast Appliance in ********. The salesperson told me that it was a brand new unit, but a floor model that was covered under warranty. On March 28, 2024 the microwave stopped functioning. I went to Coast Appliance to discuss the problem with them and they told me they wouldn't do anything, I had to call the manufacturer. In calling the manufacturer they informed me that this unit was produced in 2015 and had to be a refurbished unit. They offered to send a technician out to check the unit on April 26. I called Coast Appliance to discuss what the manufacturer, **********, had told me about the unit's age and condition when I bought it. They vehemently denied that the unit is refurbished and said it was inconsequential when the unit was made, it's age doesn't matter. I told them that I would never have bought this microwave if I had known it's age. The manager told me that it was in the hands of the manufacturer to fix or replace, they wouldn't do anything.The technician, on examination, indicated that their were major problems and parts would have to be ordered, although he didn't know if parts even existed for it as they weren't showing as "able to order". He said I would get a call from ********** in 2 business days as per a resolution for the unit. I never heard back from them.I called ********** again on May 6, they indicated that no file had been submitted regarding my microwave and there was nothing they would do until this was done. I subsequently called the company that sent out the tech. They said there was no ETA on if parts would arrive or when it might be repaired. All sides have washed their hands of my defective microwave and I've had no resolution, nor signs of resolution, 6 weeks into the process.Customer Answer

The dryer on my washer / dryer combo began making noise and Coast Appliance's in **********, ON created a repair visit where the technician noted the dryer exhaust fan broke at the drive shaft.He reported that he replaced the blower fan and a few days later a different noise started coming from the dryer.I decided to open it up myself and saw that the replacement fan was also damaged around its rim. Either the repair tech used a damaged part for the repair, or the part was damaged during the repair and not fixed (he walked away).Customer Answer

I bought a Bosch dishwasher from Coast Appliances on January 2, 2024. When it was delivered on February 23, 2024, it didn't work. When a repair person looked at it on March 18, I was told it needed a new electrical panel and the part was to be back ordered. Since the dishwasher doesn't work and to repair it would result in a re-built machine rather than a new one, I requested a refund. Coast refused to refund me and also would not help facilitate a return and refund with the manufacturer. As of April 4, it's still sitting in my home unusable.Business Response

My husband and I purchased a range on January 8, 2024 for delivery on January 10, 2024. The purchase amount was $2,293.19. We received the range on January 10, 2024 as promised, only to find the oven racks were missing once we opened the oven. I contacted Coast Appliances on the 11th who then contacted their parts provider (Reliance Parts) to ship the racks to us. I received an email today, January 17, 2024 stating it would be another 5-10 business days before the oven racks would be delivered. Coast Appliance has taken zero responsibility for not delivering the entire order. Zero compensation or alternate solutions have been provided. They have stated they are the dealer and it should be up to the manufacturers warranty to provide any compensation. We were ensured delivery on January 10th and here we are, 7 days later than promised only to be told it would be another 5-10 business days. This is completely unacceptable.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The range was delivered January 10, 2024. Upon contacting Coast Appliances, zero solutions were provided for this. I was told to contact the manufacturer as theyre just the dealer. In what world does a business that sells products not provide the customer with the entirety of the purchase? The racks being delivered 19 days after purchase is completely unacceptable. Half the range was unusable for that period of time. We would like compensation for that time lost.

Purchased a ******** dishwasher in late 2021 arriving early 2022 with a one year manufacturer warranty together with an extended 2 year warranty. To summarize, it has been 2 weeks and note little to no movement of the warranty service other than to have a tech come out, diagnose the problem and claim they need approval from the insurance provider to authorize the ordering of the part. The service provider was upgraded by Coast Appliances to **** appliance instead of ***** ******. The insurance people have yet to receive **** appliances' request for approval of a part. It has been 6 days since **** has communicated anything to the insurance provider according to **** at the insurance warranty office a few moments ago. And I have tried to contact ***** again who is the manager at the local Coast Appliances who is now not even taking my calls. He made it sound so promising when I first spoke to him about my frustration about this, but he has fallen short of assisting in this matter as well. Anyone reading this should really hesitate about buying anything from Coast Appliances for fear of possibly discontinued models and or discontinued parts in the appliance you purchase, so get it in writing before you purchase and beware of the warranty as in my view, waiting close to 2 weeks to find out that it is a simple heating element (which by the way was very difficult to find according the **** appliance tech - not sure if it is the right one or something that *** work) and still no movement on the repair. Lots of stories, lots of promises - none of them are accurate. Not sure if my dishwasher will ever get repaired, or when. We use the dishwasher every day.Initial Complaint

I purchased a total of 5 appliances at the same time from Coast Appliances in ***************. On delivery of the appliances, all units were fine and appear to be operating except for the clothes washing machine. The sales person, ***************************, neglected to tell me the unit was a European model with not all expected North American features. I requested a return and refund of the unit as he was only able to provide a replacement unit for a higher price point. The unit was never installed. After multiple emails, ****** confirmed he would take the unit back and provide a refund. The unit was picked up by Coast delivery persons and there was no damage to the unit at pick up noted or documented on the pick up delivery notice. After pick up, I requested confirmation of the amount and timing of my refund. I was told that the refund would be once the warehouse received the unit and confirmed it was not damaged or used. The very next day, I requested confirmation that the refund would be processed and subsequently received an email with a photo of the unit with damage to it and told this is how the unit was received by the warehouse. The damage was absolutely done in transit under the care of the Coast delivery persons. ****** now claims that I will not receive a full refund due to the damage.Business Response
