I am filing a complaint against EasyPark for a parking violation issued on Mar-25 at EP304B.(Violation#:EP3233925426) I arrived at the parking lot at 3:23 PM, which was the exact time my parking session ended. I was issued a violation at 3:24 PM, although I had paid for the hours I parked. Upon discovering the violation, I immediately looked for and contacted the enforcement officer. He informed me that according to his system, my payment had expired for almost an hour, which was incorrect. He suggested that I file an appeal. I followed his advice and filed the appeal with payment screenshot, but it was rejected without considering the details of the situation.I believe the fine was issued unfairly and unreasonably for the following reasons: 1,The staff who issued the fine did so based on a system error, which showed that I had exceeded the parking time by over an hour, not due to a 1-minute overstay. Upon realizing the situation, the staff advised me to file an appeal, as he was unable to cancel the fine. 2,I arrived at the parking lot at 3:23 PM. I was with my child and it took us about a minute to walk to the parking spot. This is not an intentional violation of parking rules. After speaking with the staff, I immediately left the parking lot before 3:36PM. The extra ten minutes were used to discover the violation, find the staff member, and discuss the issue with him. There was no violation of occupying a parking space without paying. 3,As a user, I complied with the parking lots rules, paid the required parking fee, and parked on time without any issues. However, they insisted on issuing the fine for a mere 1-minute overstay, which raises questions about whether the fine was issued to punish a violation or as a way to profit from fines.I kindly request that EasyPark reconsider and cancel this violation, as I believe it was issued based on a misunderstanding and technical error, and I was not intentionally violating any parking regulations.Customer Answer

After further reviewing your appeal, we have already concluded a decision to help your by reducing the violation to the equivalent daily max rate minus the amount you have paid for parking.
This decision was based on the expired parking session when the patroller scanned your plate number on site. Unfortunately, as previously stated in our communications with you, out lots do not have grace periods and even a minute of difference will be subject to a violation.
Please note that this reduction is a one-time educational courtesy and we might not be able to reduce future violations for the same reason.
Also, we've confirmed a payment made already for $17.40 on March 29th, 2025. This is considered as settlement to the infraction and we will not close this ticket as we consider it resolved.

On 27/03/2025 , I parked at an EasyPark lot in downtown Vancouver and paid for 2 hours of parking via ZipBy (a partner app accepted at the location). The machine on-site clearly stated that a 2-hour session purchased late at night would be valid until 6:00 AM. Based on that, I paid approximately $12 through the ZipBy app.Despite paying in good faith through an accepted platform and relying on EasyParks own messaging, I received an $82 violation notice. I later learned that the ZipBy app had only registered 2 exact hours from the time of purchase, not until 6am as the physical signage suggested.I contacted ZipBy and confirmed this mismatch in how time is calculated between the app and EasyParks machines. The result is a confusing, misleading system where customers can easily be penalized despite following all posted guidance.EasyPark offers no way to speak to a human being. Their appeal form only allows six narrowly defined dispute categories, none of which apply to inconsistent instructions between EasyParks own signage and their app partners. This feels like a deliberate trap to issue fines to people whove already paid.This is misleading business practice at best and feels like a systemic issue designed to generate revenue rather than provide fair, transparent service. I am requesting a refund of the $82 violation and formal clarification from EasyPark regarding how overnight parking should be handled when using ZipBy.Business Response

I was given a violation (EP3234021020) in lot PB62. There was a storm outside, I am from out of town but want to visit again, and I genuinely didnt see any pay stations or parking signage near the remote area I was parked in. No markings on my spot aside from faint lines. I now know that every spot in *********************** is to be paid for. I did not know, I feel like I wasnt given much of a chance to know, and Im sorry, really am pleading relaxation for this case. I live nearby and was unaware that my vehicle was in a paid parking zone at **************** on ******* Based on my understanding, parking in this lot is free after 6 PM, and I believe my vehicle was there for 5 min only. On March 4, 2025 I parked at ********* Location EP303 - ***************************************** at 1:53 pm. I went to the machine and put in my credit card. It said to remove it and I did. It didnt ask for my licence plate or stall number, but it looked like it took my payment for $6.20 and said it was valid until 3:07 pm. I took a picture of the screen because I wasnt 100% it worked. Upon return I was shocked to see a ticket for $82.00 on my window. While we appreciate your attempt to make a payment for your parking session, the screenshot you provided showed that the machine was giving instructions to either "Tap or Insert" your card to make a payment. There were no errors appearing on the meter screen.
Furthermore, even if a parking meter is not operational, you must still pay using one of the accepted mobile apps. Our parking meters will indicate that payment through a mobile app is necessary if the meter is out of service. Parking meters may experience outages due to their reliance on wireless SIM cards, which is beyond our control. There are several mobile apps available for Lot 303 such as Honk, Park Mobile, and ZipBy.
At this time, as no payments were confirmed, we cannot cancel this violation and it remains valid, unfortunately.
Please make the payment promptly to avoid further action. Unpaid violations may result in your vehicle being towed from any EasyPark location. I parked in one of their underground lots because I was visiting a company in that building. When I parked (the lot was completely empty), I went to the sign about how to pay for parking (either Zipby or Honk app, both of which I have). I tried to access both apps, however, had absolutely no phone signal at all. I went to the stairwell to look for a kiosk, but there was none. I went up to the lobby (assuming there would be a kiosk there), but again, no options and still absolutely no data. I finally found an open wifi signal, managed to access Zipby and tried multiple times to submit it, but it kept on failing. I finally went back down to the parking lot, to find that I had received a ticket while trying my best to pay for parking!! I suspect they were waiting for me to leave to give me a ticket immediately. I am rejecting this response because: I acknowledge that I did not pay for parking, however, I was not given enough time to do so given the issues in the lot. I spent at least 10 minutes at the parking sign within view of my car trying to get any of my apps to work. It indicated that there were parking meters in the lobby, however, when I went up the stairs, and went around the building, there was no parking meter in the lobby of the company that owns the building. I have no idea where there might be meters, but I certainly couldn't find them. This lot looks like it just recently opened, given that the entrance was partially blocked by construction, so perhaps there is some infrastructure still missing.By the time I got back down to the parking garage to move my car (since I couldn't figure out how to pay), I already had a ticket. I would be happy to pay a reduced rate for this violation, since I had every intention of paying for parking, but the full rate is unfair given the reliance on apps in a lot without cell service.

With reference to Violation # EP3234911746, I would like to humbly request to appeal for the exemption of my parking ticket please. ??I came to the aquarium along with my two small kids for an event. It was my first time going to Vancouver , and we were told the event would be over within 2 hours of time. I, myself bought the original parking ticket for 2 hrs, but at the event with small kids, could.not manage since it was not very convenient to go out all the back to parking station with the kids or leaving them at the venue alone and as also, am not very tech savvy using mobile apps. Things happen when you are with small kids and we can't have much control over them like the kid vomitted and I had to take them to washroom to change everything which took me longer than expected. I immediately paid the parking for next 1 hour as soon as I manged to come out from the exit of premises. Then I noticed the violation ticket on my vehicle. During this ****************** to me a violation ticket for $70 was placed on my vehicle.I had no intension of not paying for parking, I was not trying to get away with anything. With kid, it took me way more than longer I had thought to reach back to the parking where my car was parked. I traveled over 2 hours to get to the event, paying for parking is not part of my everyday routine,and I thought I was following the rules. I have done everything in my power to remedy the situation, and lost hours of time traveling to this place. I am not trying to get out of spending $4 parking. I paid it asap at my physical convenience possible at that time. I have never made any default before & wasnt looking for free parking. I am rejecting this response because:I understand the importance of adhering to parking regulations. Here, I would like to sincerely thank you for taking your time and looking into the said matter. On the day in question, as I have already mentioned, I was attending to a small kid, with their urgent needs of taking to washroom as the kid vomitted, clean-up after, these urgent matters made me unintentionally overlooked the parking restrictions.
Given the circumstances, I humbly and kindly ask for your understanding and consideration in waiving the penalty associated with this ticket. I assure you that this was an isolated incident, and I'll be more vigilant in the future to avoid any such occurrences.
Please waive off the penalty as it was my first error unintentionally, I have never done any parking mistake before. The penalty is going to hit me really hard as am on fixed income and it's very difficult to arrange for the funds.

Easypark (Shipyards Lot)I paid for 2 hours parking (~$10). The parking expired and while I was purchasing an extension offsite on my cellphone (an additional ~$9 was paid to Easypark and the parking was extended, but with a gap) they issued a violation. I filed a customer service complaint and was told they have no ***** period and no flexibility, and that I was required to pay their $82 fine. This is very similar to other customer complaints, the company obviously does not care in the least about treating their customers properly.Business Response

Upon reviewing, the time gap from when the parking session expired and when the next session started was a total of 35 mins.
Your parking session expired at 1:59pm and the next session didn't start until 2:34pm.
Unfortunately, this gap is too long that's why this violation is being upheld. Our lots do not have any ***** periods and payments are always required for the entire duration of your stay.

On August 26, 2024, I parked in an EasyPark lot and paid $14.35 using the ZipBy app. My payment was valid until 1:30 PM, but I received a violation at 1:20 PM, ten minutes before the session ended. This violation resulted from a technical glitch in the ZipBy app, which delayed processing despite my valid payment.I immediately contacted EasyPark and ZipBy to appeal the ticket and provided evidence of my payment. Despite multiple follow-ups, EasyPark upheld the violation and escalated the issue to D&A ************** for collections. The collection agency is now demanding $130 for the violation. I continued to seek resolution in good faith, but ***** did not respond to my requests for clarification of the error. EasyPark refused to reconsider my appeal, even though the issue arose from a system error beyond my control.I believe this escalation to collections and the demand for $130 is unfair, given that I made the payment in good faith, and the error was due to the apps technical failure. This situation has caused me significant stress, and I am now concerned about potential damage to my credit report.I request EasyPark to:1. Upon reviewing our records, unfortunately, it appears that the violation was upheld ultimately for the reason that the parking session on zipby was not extended in accordance to cover the time when the violation was issued.
The payment we have on the system from zipby started at 11:28am and ended at 12:58pm. The violation was issued at 1:08pm. The time gap from when the violation was issued and when the parking session expired does not fall as a basis for us to cancel the violation. Our lots do not have grace periods and valid parking session, including timely extensions are always required.
We hope this further clarifies our stance on this matter, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:
I appreciate EasyParks response, but their reasoning is incomplete and does not fully address the issue.
1. I attempted to extend my parking session, but ZipBy failed to process it. This was a technical failure, not my negligence. I made every effort to ensure my parking was covered.
2. I immediately reached out to both EasyPark and ZipBy to resolve the issue. Despite multiple follow-ups, ZipBy never responded, leaving me with no way to correct the issue at the time.
3. I am willing to pay the missing amount that ZipBy failed to process, but I do not accept the full violation fee. Since I acted in good faith and tried to resolve the issue promptly, it is unfair for me to be penalized with a $130 violation.Requested Resolution:

You have mentioned on your previous reply that the violation was issued at 1:20pm and your payment was valid until 1:30pm. Both timestamps are not matching our records. The violation was issued at 1:08pm, and your payment was valid only until 12:58pm. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED IMAGES FOR REFERENCE.
Requested Resolution:
1. I request that EasyPark accept payment for the missing amount and cancel the violation fee since the issue arose due to ZipBys failure, not my actions.Unfortunately, there was no glitch found from the ZipBy Payment system on August 26th. There were transactions that were coming in properly during the time that you made your payment. I actually want to accept the resolution, but the $82 reduction is not reflected in the payment portal, which still shows $130 (see attached).
I am willing to pay to resolve this matter within the 2-day deadline, but I request the following before proceeding:
- A further reduction in the amount, considering the stress and delays caused by ZipBys lack of response.
- Immediate update of your payment portal to reflect the correct reduced amount so I can process the payment.
- Written confirmation that once I pay, this matter will be fully resolved and no negative report will be made to any credit bureau.

I park at **************** to go around the corner Ernes ice cream that its locate at *********, the number of the parking was ***** by PayByPhone that I have the app on my cell with a profile. I been back and forth on emails without any solution the same pictures I will attach here are the same I sent, but now I find out that the ticket has a different location for the address that I was parked and now they sent a letter that my company will do a payroll deduction. Upon reviewing your appeal, and as previously mentioned in our email response, your vehicle with license plate ****** was issued a ticket at Lot ********************** of EasyPark. Unfortunately, that screenshot of the payment you attached from paybyphone was for a different parking lot that's not managed by EasyPark.
For that reason, unfortunately, we are unable cancel this violation as your vehicle did not have a valid session to stay at Lot 139 on Nov. 23rd.
We've attached an image of the vehicle that was uploaded by the patroller when the violation was issued as reference.
