My employer dispatched a package to me on November 18, 2024. Due to the **** strike I did not receive my package and waited patiently. This was a system that was being delivered to me to start work as I was going back to work from my maternity leave. I rely on this job to feed my 1 year old child. However, I waited patiently. On December 19, 2024, the tracking on Canada post is showing at delivered however, upon checking the mailbox I did not find the system. I raised a ticket with Canada Post. After 15 mins the ticket got resolved and I called back to Canada Post to tell them that the ticket is showing as resolved but I cannot find the package in the community mail box even now. The agent told me that the mail man delivered it to the wrong address and we are sending someone out again to look for it. After 1 hour it again showed as resolved but I still could not find the package in my mail box. Then I called again and they said that the mail man came to your mail box and has confirmed that the package is there (LOOK CLOSELY). I then took my husband with me to look, maybe I had lost my eye sight and could not see the package. However, both of us could not find the package. Then I called Canada Post again and told them that the package is still not there. They then responded to us stating that the package is now lost. Therefore, we asked them to change the status to lost as my employer wants proof that I did not get the package before sending a new one. Canada Post stated that they cannot do that as they are not sure that it is lost and that probably I am just not looking closely enough. I then went to the Canada post office located at ************************ ON. When me and my husband went there and we complained and asked the lady for help. She said she cannot do anything about it. Then she said "You are crazy people and if you do not leave I will call security and police and have you thrown out".Canada Post Corporation Response

Thank you for reaching out. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience your recent experience with Canada Post has caused. Unfortunately, when a parcel scan is showing delivered, and the receiver does not receive the parcel the process is that the Sender would be the one to open the claim for the lost item. Please have the Sender reach out to Canada Post ************* to start this process. ************* can be reached by phone at ************** Monday to Friday, 7 am to 11 pm EST Saturday and Sunday, 9 am to 9 pm EST. If you read my complaint you will see that is it about the behaviour of staff at the Canada post office and not any damage or claim. I guess you did not even give my complaint a proper reading before responding. No wonder the staff behaved in this wayReview from Staci S

Canada posts strike has held my fiance hostage in Canada for a MONTH. He is unable to work, provide income for our family. Has had to pay additional hotel / food costs to stay in Canada for over a month now. All because they are holding his newly renewed visa/passport hostage in their facilities. It is unacceptable and CRUEL to hold such crucial and vital documents from people. What theyre doing to him and 1000s of others should be illegal. I hope this business crumbles once this strike is over, the most horribly ran atrocity in history.Canada Post Corporation Response

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, with the current strike of the ********************************, Canada Posts operations have ceased. No mail nor parcels will be processed nor delivered during this time. Please note that all mail and parcels are secure in our network and will be delivered as soon as possible upon the resumption of operations on a first-in, first-out basis. That being said, it may take some time for processing and delivery to return to normal. Thank you, Canada Post *************Review from Jennifer B

This Canada Post strike is ridiculous. If they don't want their job and wages. Fire their *****. Give the jobs to people who will appreciate it. Like the people on government assistance who desperately want to work. It annoys me how the Canada Post workers whine about how they can't survive on their wages. Yet the rest of us survive on a lot less. They're whining workers should try surviving on government assistance then come talk to us about how low their wages are.Canada Post Corporation Response

Thank you for your feedback on the ******************************** (CUPW). The ******************************** (****) has announced it intends to begin a national strike on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET. Canada Posts operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.Customers should expect delays.Customers will experience delays due to the strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.Items will be delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume. All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. I've had nothing but major issues with Canada Post, they delivered me a package to my mailbox. The key I had to said mailbox was wrong and they refused to move the package from the mailbox to a local canada post pickup. I requested a new key which I never got, and had to track down another key on my own to get a key for my mailbox. I have since ordered other packages usually showing up lating using the same address I always have, and now on my latest package they say the address is wrong. They also cannot guarantee me the issue will be resolved before they send the package back to the sender. The customer service *** was horrible talked over me and would not listen to anything I was trying to explain to her. I stated that I receive mail from my bank to the same mailbox using the same address as is on the package they are holding. She essentially called me a liar stating I was wrong and when the mail is scanned on delivery if the address is "wrong" as she states it is it would not be delivered. I would happily use and pay a private delivery company for my mail delivery for the rest of my life rather then ever trust Canada Post with any of my mail ever again. It's been nothing but a series of s**** *** on Canada Posts behalf. Yet anytime I've called to complain I'm talked down to belittled and blamed for their mistakes. Hands down the absolute worst form of mailing or shipping to exist.Review from Christopher Y

I have never had issues with Canada Post until the last two years. I mail from a Canada Post located in a Shoppers ********. The staff located there are really good but when mailing padded envelopes to the U.S the Canada Post headquarters often ships the envelope back even when the items are declared on a Canada Post form and mailed from a Canada Post location.I had to start charging more and using Ebays Canada Post when mailing to the ***** have recently received an envelope in the mail ripped open and missing a hockey card. It is impossible to make a report on Canada Posts website. It must have tracking.Note I did complain and receive a response regarding this.Review from Christopher L

Canada Post MASSIVE Snapship scam.If you have a business account with ********************** you can prepare a shipment from the comfort of your office or home. Put in all required info, origin, destination, measurements, weight, pay online, print the label, attach it and drop off your parcel at Canada Post location. It is called Snapship. Lately I noticed that 2-3 days later an additional charge appears on your credit card, 2-3 bucks, a small amount, but also by Snapship. I contacted Canada Post business office - they told me they do that if measurements or weight are under-reported, so they add a charge to cover the 'difference'. Sounds justified, but wait, the thing is, I mostly ship items worth in hundreds of dollars, so I always OVER-report, say a 20x15x15 cm parcel weighing 500 grams I register as 22x16x16, weighing 700 grams. I ALWAYS do that to avoid issues when I drop it off. So, I asked the agent on the phone, how can it be? Can I verify my measurements when I drop it off. The answer was NO, what happens at the local post office does not count. See what is going on? They weigh your parcel at some remote facility where the rigged measurements always require you to pay a small additional charge, they have your credit card info, so they charge you again. Thousands or tens of thousands of shipments a day, a 2-3 bucks on each, a year later you have millions of dollars in your pocket stolen from unsuspecting customers. The conversation with ********************** business office was useless. The office of 'Canada Post Ombudsman' is a joke you cannot even get in touch with them, only by mail or e-mail and only to appeal a Canada Post previous decision. So my advice to those who use the SnapCr*p, stop doing that, go to the ************ pay there. If you absolutely must, use a reloadable **** or Mastercard and add exactly what you need to pay when you prepare shipment, or use a credit card that can be locked, lock it right after you pay for shipping.Class-action law suit is loomingCanada Post Corporation Response

Thank you for your recent Better Business Bureau enquiry, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. A few key steps to ensure measurements are accurate is to not rely on the manufacture measurements that are printed on the box itself or from the manufacturer specifications as these can greatly vary and or be the measurement of the inside of the box in some cases. Take several measurements from several different points of a box packaged ready for shipping, this accounts for any bulging or additional shipping materials. Ensure that the scale/ measuring tape used is accurate. Please see the link below on more details regarding additional charges when using ************ to cube an item and calculate the ** of its actual weight | Canada Post (******************************************************)Avoid unexpected shipping fees | Business Matters | Canada Post (******************************************************)We also offer Flat Rate boxes.Send a flat rate box | Personal | Canada Post (******************************************************)We encourage you to contact Canada Post ************* to further discuss this issue as well as receive a formal service ticket for this complaint. Should you wish to pursue a complaint with the Canada Post ***************** they would require a Service Ticket documenting the issue from Canada Post to show the steps Canada Post has taken to resolve the issue.
