I signed in their system 2020 I remember.I was thought this is under CRA.I didn't read fully the agreement.I haven't heard from them since then.I had mistakes of signing which is I don't know what's going on In what I signed. This Year they just contacted me and said to pay the service that they did to me which is I don't know what it is.If they are doing what kind of service they provided, They have to confirm first to me that "hey we will do your 10 years tax review if you are still willing to do our service that you have to pay this or that" I haven't heard from them since 2020 and suddenly they will came up to me that I have to pay this. And also they're Harassing me to call almost everyday until Sunday. They call me "animal" because I was really upset why I have to pay this. I need help to remove my files from them because they are threatening me. It cause me stress and got sick because of harassing everyday and threatening if I couldn't pay that amount.

Hired ctr to do a disability review on my taxes for the last few years and while on the phone they asked me if my taxes had been filed for 2022 and I mentioned they had not they said they would file my taxes at the same time and I would pay 33% of my tax refund. I got my tax assessment with refund of almost 4000 of which I payed 33% their fee to do the review. 10 days later I got an invoice in my email stating that my gst back pay would be deposited to my account in February of 2024 and then an email from ctr stating they were also charging a fee on this credit from the cr as well as another invoice for 81$ on another credit of back pay from the CRA for 280$ . I was not informed they would be charging me per refund from the CRA I was told one payment of 33% on my tax refund this is ludicrous as they are charging me 33% fee each credit the CRA gives me for simply filing my taxes! I should not have to pay them for a tax credit that is that I receive from the CRA every quarter because they did my taxes this refund is a tax credit I would have received no matter who did my taxes and is not part of the disability review refund they offered me in the first place. I feel as though I was mislead here and don’t feel the charges are valid beyond my original payment of 1226.26 and would prefer not to pay them any further fees on this matter they are threatening to put it in my credit report as delinquent should I not pay it

I was contacted by this company (which my mother who elderly was originally contacted via email by them and then sent them to me). She had no idea how bad this company was. **** *** ***** *********! When I got called (which lasted 12 minutes and 2 seconds). I was FORCED to sign the contract without having any time at all to read it. I was under the understanding that this was to help my mother, not for my own tax returns. Nothing was explained to me in detail at all. And the woman on the phone kept asking me "did you sign it yet?". "It doesn't look like you signed it, can you sign it now?". I was asked about 3-4 times to sign it as I was trying to read the contract in full. I didn't get the time to read it, and in desperation to help my elderly mother, I signed it because I thought I was going to help her get a refund. I signed it at 1:47pm. I then looked into the company and read the contract fully and realized how absolutely awful this company is. I emailed them at 9:57pm asking them to stop all "research" into my taxes and removed them from being an authorized user to my CRA account. I just got a bill for $338.99 for their "services". This is absolutely not okay in any way. I was pressured into not reading the contract and just signing. As I said before, the phone call was only 12 minutes long. Not long enough to explain to me what was happening or for me to read the contract in full. I want this invoice to be removed from my name and it to be voided. It isn't okay that this company calls and makes you sign it while they're on the phone with you constantly asking you to sign it and hurry up. There is NO WAY this company did any type of work worth the $338.99 in the time they had my accounts. This is an extremely ********* company and I will be getting my lawyer involved.

So this business was suppose to provide a 10 year review of my taxes and see if I was owed money still and I would pay nothing unless money was found . Any money found I would have to pay a 33% fee for there services. I agreed to let them do a 10 year review of my taxes ive already filled . Then they went and did their review and came back to me telling me they found $12,400 in taxes ive missed . So I told them to claim that amount then and I would owe them roughly 4000 . So they sent me a contract which I signed not knowing they had infact not done any review whatsoever but were just filling my taxes for 4 years I didn't file which was not part of the original agreement. Now the number of return money is changed to only $9400 not $12,400 and they claim I owe them $3500 for doing something they were not told to do in anyway shape or form. I could have easily done those years of filling without paying them $3500 . I told them I'm not paying them for something I didn't ask them to do .

I hired them to go over my taxes for the past ten years in 2019 to see if anything was missed in my taxes over those past ten years. They did find mistakes over those years and, got me an extra roughly $7,500 back in taxes. Their fee for this service was 35% on whatever money they got back for you in taxes, so around $2,600. In July, 2019 I paid them their fee of $2,622.90 via e-transfer, and when the payment was processed they sent me a receipt via email. My complaint is in the last 2 months (July, and Aug. 2023) I have be ******** by them trying to scam me, telling me that I have not paid their fee form back in July 2019 and that I need to pay it. They then tell me the invoice# on the receipt they sent me didn't match their invoice# said the # was (*****) also saying the balance owing was different ($2,622.59) so a difference of $0.31. I have told them multiple times they need to figure out where they went wrong on their end, and that I would not be ******* into paying this fee a 2nd time. They have now ********** me with legal action, and that they are going to report me to ******* in an attempt to get me to pay this fee again, which I will not do.

      Dear BBB,

I am writing in response to the complaint filed against Canada Tax Reviews by ****** with regard to her alleged file in collections. We appreciate the opportunity to address this matter and provide you with our perspective on the situation.

Canada Tax Reviews takes responsibilities seriously and strive to maintain the highest level of professionalism and adherence to legal and ethical standards. Our records indicate that ****** engaged our services and entered into a contractual agreement with us for the provision of specific services.

According to our records, ****** was informed about the requirement of providing level 2 access to us in order to proceed with the agreed-upon services. However, despite our repeated attempts to obtain the necessary level 2 access, we received no response from ****** until June 22nd. Due to her failure to provide the required access within the agreed-upon timeframe, her file was placed in collections.

We would like to emphasize that the decision to report ****** to collections was a result of her failure to fulfill her contractual obligations, specifically the provision of level 2 access that was initially granted to us. We have a duty to protect the interests of our clients and take appropriate actions when necessary.
Nevertheless, we understand the concerns raised by ******, and we are committed to resolving this matter promptly and fairly. We have already assigned an accountant to investigate the issue regarding her refund and the reason it was not deposited. Our accountant will thoroughly examine the situation to determine any discrepancies or errors that may have occurred.

We value our reputation as a reputable collections agency, and we assure you that we will work diligently to address this matter and reach a satisfactory resolution for all parties involved. We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate through this process.

      Dear ******,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to address the recent communication you had with Diana, regarding your file on July 19, and to provide you with important information that came to light during our investigation.

As per your conversation with Diana, we were made aware of the issue pertaining to your refund. However, upon further investigation, we discovered that there was crucial information that was not disclosed to us earlier. You failed to mention that you are currently in a consumer proposal, and as a result, documentation related to this matter was not provided. According to the information obtained from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), it has been confirmed that your refund is currently garnished due to your involvement in a consumer proposal. We understand that this revelation may come as a surprise, and we want to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. It is important moving forward that you include this information.

Given the circumstances, we advise you to contact your trustee immediately to gain a better understanding of the details related to your consumer proposal and the implications it may have on your financial matters. They will be able to provide you with comprehensive information about your current situation and guide you through the necessary steps. As a result of being in a consumer proposal,  you will not be receiving a cash amount from the refund at this time.

We are relieved that we were able to identify the reason behind the issue, but we understand that this news may be disappointing.

We genuinely appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we navigated this matter. To discuss any concerns or further details about your situation, please do not hesitate to contact our billing agents at 1-800-950-6754. They will be more than willing to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused and assure you that our team is here to support you during this time. Please take the necessary steps to get in touch with your trustee to gain a comprehensive understanding of your current financial status.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to assisting you in any way we can.

Hello I need help with billing they are charging me 3,726 dollars interest on my 1300 bill

      Business response

      19/05/2023

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

I am writing in response to a complaint filed against Canada Tax Reviews by ****** ******** regarding the involvement of a third party in collecting payment for unpaid invoices, as well as the handling of their account.

First and foremost, we would like to acknowledge that ****** signed a contract with Canada Tax Reviews on June 16, 2021, at 18:12. This contract clearly stated that in the event of unpaid invoices, our company reserves the right to engage in recovering the outstanding balance, including any accrued interest. This information was communicated to ****** and agreed upon when the contract was signed.

We want to emphasize that our decision to involve a third party was not taken lightly. It is always our priority to maintain open lines of communication with our clients and work towards an amicable resolution. However, after numerous attempts to address the unpaid invoices through direct communication, we regrettably found it necessary to engage a collection agency to recover the outstanding balance. ****** has 2 open invoices with us, that have been due since 2022 of March 15 and June 4th.

It is important to note that any payments made by ****** were promptly communicated to the third-party collection agency. We have diligently ensured that all relevant information regarding the payments has been shared, allowing for accurate tracking and reconciliation of the account. Once the invoices are fully paid, we will proceed to close ******'s file with the third party and mark the invoices as fully paid in our records.

We understand that ****** may feel inconvenienced or frustrated by the involvement of a third party, and for that, we sincerely apologize. Our intention was never to cause any undue stress or dissatisfaction. However, it is important to reiterate that this action was taken in accordance with the contractual agreement and after exhausting our efforts to address her unpaid invoices directly.

We value ******'s business and appreciate the opportunity to address their concerns. We are committed to finding a resolution to this matter and are open to further communication to reach a mutually satisfactory outcome.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we assure you that we take all customer feedback seriously and strive to continuously improve our processes and customer service.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we appreciate your assistance in facilitating communication between our company and ******. We trust that the Better Business Bureau will handle this complaint fairly and objectively.

      Sincerely,

      Alannah

Hello, my daughter activated a phone number through **** ******** last year. She began to receive calls from Canada Tax Reviews seeking a person named *******. She advised them multiple times that they have the wrong number and they continue to call her daily. She is a high school student. She has passed the phone to me, as her mother, and I have also advised them that the contact information they have for this person is incorrect. They continue to call. I have tried to contact them via the automated system on their website but it is not set up to receive calls which is frustrating and seems odd to me. I am making this complaint to advise the BBB of this practice in case others have experienced this as well. She would like the calls to stop as they obviously have received confirmation from the new user that this number has been changed. Thank you for your consideration. Best regards, ******
