I am a first-time home buyer and during my home inspection, it was mentioned I have to change my AC and Furnace units as they were at EOL. I searched for deals online in February and I feel on Comfort Level One Heating and Cooling Inc advert on Facebook market and contacted them. I talked with the so-called "***" over the phone and we agree that I will pay him all the money for the equipment and the work to be done upfront in cash (that was the condition for me to have both equipment delivered at my place, he made me feel I had to do that to secure the equipment as there were some big delays on getting them). He told me that he could proceed with the installation only by end-March because of the cold weather and we scheduled a date for the end of March. Starting from that time up till now, I have been calling him and scheduling the work a dozen times, and every time he had an excuse why he could not honor the schedule, and the most annoying is that I was and I am always the one calling reminding him for the work to be done and he keeps giving fake excuses. I decided 3 weeks ago to not proceed anymore with him so I called him and requested a full refund for the money paid which he agreed on the phone. From then till today it is the same story, I keep calling and he keeps rescheduling and never comes, he keeps giving excuses as usual. He accepted that he will pick up his equipment and refund my money but that seems not to be happening its already 3+ weeks now. Just to add to the above, during the period he kept rescheduling the work, he called me and told me the AC he gave me back in February was not the good one and he came by and picked it up saying he will bring mine later, and as you can imagine that never happened. So all I have with me right now is the furnace. I filed a police report and I keep calling him to get my refund as I need to get another contractor to get the work done. I am wondering why despite all the complaints this company keep operating.

Feb 28 ,2022 Amount paid to Comfort Level One Heating and Cooling Inc $1000.00 Canadian dollars VIA E-transfer Email address provided from *** owner " ************************* via text message to me from his cellphone # ***** ******** All text messages and call logs available upon request I have records of all as we started noticing he had no intention to come and install the central AC unit 2 ton goodman unit as mentioned in the conversation and his supplied invoice to us. The central Air conditioning unit was supposed to be installed for my wife's old grandmother at the address of ** *** ******* ******** ****** , and also noting that he miss spelled the address on the invoice . we have asked *** at Comfort Level One Heating and Cooling Inc. multiple times via phone call verbally and also have had him give us installation dates that he will be coming in multiple different dates and times with no show or calls . Also contacted him via text messages no response then followed up via phone call each time, he will respond but won't commit or come in to do the job . Consequently, we have requested from him by text message and phone call conversation to pay back the amount of $1000.00 Canadian dollars to us but he never did . I have records of all by the way since it was clear he had no intentions to pay back because we gave him lots of time for both install and pay back . Every time we call him he said he will pay today then nothing . At this point we want back immediately the $1000.00 we gave him upfront plus all the damages he has caused us in time , family relations since he was our referral ,financial and comfort . At this point we have gone and bought window AC units to install at my wife's grandmother and gave her $1000 out of our own savings to make it right with her . All records available to share and will upload here most of them. The business and its owner never tried to resolve anything just lied to us to this point ,now we here . Refund now .

On Feb. 11, ******* ********** came to my home to visit the site to give me an estimate for changing the existing water heater to tankless water heater. We agreed for $2800 + TAX after installation. He asked for $1400 in advance to be eTransferred to him, *****************************, to make him able to place an order from his resource. He said it will take two to three weeks to receive the new tankless water heater, and we agreed to pay another $1764 after completing the job. Two weeks passed and I made several phone calls and I cannot get hold of him. I have his direct number ************ and company number ************ On his business card there is another name: *** founder and owner This is another phone number on the card: ************ It seems he and his brother, *** Elsharafa as an owner and co-founder are doing this fraud activities together. Their website, https://comfortlevelone.ca/, is suspended and all information in business card is fake. I already filed police report and investigation is underway.

******************* **************************** from Comfort level one. Cheaps out on jobs, steals money, and is flat out dangerous for gas installations. I'm a General Contractor in Ottawa, and dealing with him was the worst experience I have ever had. He replaced a furnace and hot water tank 6 weeks ago in January. Wanted all money up front in cash and e-xfers, gave no paperwork despite promising as soon as was transferred. Secretly installed a much smaller hot water tank than was discussed, only suitable for a 1 bath condo for my 3 bath house. (****** ****, Google it). The install was horrible. Cigarette butts and pee holes all over the driveway, broken concrete and sawdust left everywhere. No tagging or records left. The next day the water tank threw an emergency code and stopped working. He said he'd replace it but claimed he had no money. He also didn't install the air conditioning condenser even though I've paid for it in full, he left the cut lines hanging and open. (He didn't evacuate the refrigerant, just let it blow out into the basement!) He kept making up stories every few days and lying to me about ordering the heater. He didn't knowing I have accounts at his suppliers, since I'm a GC, quick calls kept revealing he was simply making up stories. My wife speaks Arabic, and during the install she asked me why people kept calling him asking for money. Turns out he regularly takes deposits and runs. He's started and dissolved 3 companies in the last few years. Google **** **** ******* *** ******** and ********** ******* *** ********. Both are rife with people complaining about stolen money and work not completed. So, I had another HVAC tech come by, he immediately wanted to shut down and red tag the entire installation, it was THAT DANGEROUS. So I've had to report him to the TSSA, and I still don't have a working hot water heater, and he's making up stories about family emergencies (Which he's told other people too) Just want a partial refund or replace.
