Upon signing up for the addictions and community service program it started Off great. They tell you what you want to hear just to get your money. I have gone through 5 instructors in 5 months. After sending numerous emails with my concerns I just get tossed to the side. Every course I am to sign a contract as a student I will hold up to certain expectations. As a school I hold them to certain standards and expectations as well that they as a school have not come close to meeting. The spelling,Grammer and lack of effort put into assignments are atrocious. I am here to learn. The instructors read word for word from a PowerPoint to then dismissing us early from class. There is very little education happening. I didn't pay $15000 to be let go early. This school is unprofessional and disorganized. Some of the courses were dragged out for weeks when we could have used that time for actual core courses that are going to help me in the field. Certificate are US based, and it's a hit or miss if canadain employers will accept them. And to top it all off with how disorganized they are. These certificates were done at the very beginning of the course and expired before we even got out in the field. I have been trying to resolve this for months and nothing is being addresses. I want my tuition back so I can go get a proper education.

Our Addictions and Community Service Worker (ACSW) program course content is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. (MCU). Our program was designed by experts and reviewed regularly by industry practitioners and professionals in the field for relevancy and achieving goals and have many graduates who have gone onto successful careers in the field.
Our instructors must meet minimum education and experience standards as prescribed by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities – which they have.  The student has had different instructors and all have been qualified. Regular faculty reviews occur and student evaluations factor regularly into discussions with faculty. We have never promised that the student will only have one instructor from start to finish; only that they will be qualified according to Ministry (and industry) standards.

We do offer many certificates to help students gain their initial employment and help them stand out from other applicants. As per industry standards, since ACSW is a broad field, the direct relevancy of the certificate will vary.  As per the statement that the certificates will be expired before she graduates, this is categorically false. To date the student has earned the following certifications:

    CPR/FA expires June 20th, 2024
NVCI expires on April 28th, 2024
    WHMIS - ongoing
    Narcan - Single certification required
Living Works ASIST  May 15th, 2024

We have had numerous exchanges with the student and have attempted to address her concern. There is a dispute-complaint committee which can address issues if the student feels that the instructor/Academic Dean/Campus Director have not addressed their concerns sufficiently.  We had already proactively sent the form to the student if she felt that there were issues, but it was not returned before she contacted ***.  Once we were made aware of the complaint, we sent it again, and it was not returned.  We then reached out to her (proactively) a third time and the student returned the form at this time.  Now that the form is completed, we will be attempting to schedule a meeting with the student to meet and possibly address her issues.
