1 star****** ** *** ******** * Misleading Practices! * ******** ****** ******* ******* *** ***** **** *** ********* They attract customers with $1 to $299 trip promotions, but in reality, they upsell additional services and schedule trips 1–2 years in the future while holding onto your money for their personal use instead of keeping it in a trust account. They can change agreement for extra cost $390 per person for tipping and other services, whenever they want, leaving you with no control. Your only option is to hire an expensive lawyer and take them to court. Customer service is nonexistent—they ignore inquiries until the last minute, unless you physically visit their office to demand answers. As the trip date approaches, they often cite viruses or other excuses to force customers to reschedule or accept travel credits instead of refunds. If you agree to a date change or accept credits, consider your money gone. Their credits expire in one year, and any rescheduled trip will cost significantly more—often $15,000 to $25,000 per person! They advertise on ********* and ********* is not taking any responsibility *** ***** ******** If UTO Vacation attempts to change your trip date or offer credits, demand a refund immediately. 1 starUpdate, I was scheduled with my spouse to go on the Thailand/China trip leaving on March 25, 2025 and I was told that my trip was canceled because I did not pay another added on fee. I NEVER received any emails, notifications or any indication as to a due date for this final added on fee. ** *** **** **** **** I booked a China/Thailand trip with UTO Vacations. UTO sent me some extra paperwork related to COVID at the very last minute about the trip and they did not leave me any realistic amount of time to submit the paperwork before they canceled my trip. I attempted to reschedule my trip. I spoke with two agents who both assured me that I would be able to rebook my trip or receive credits, I was told that I had time to make this decision, I even have transcripts of these conversations and when I attempted to get it rescheduled I was told that I could not reschedule the trip, that they would not offer me trip credits and that they would not refund my money without offering me any alternative. I spent hours on the chat line trying to reason with this company and explaining that it is essentially fraud when you do this and they kept giving me an answer saying that there is nothing that they could offer me. I am out $598 and I can't believe that a company can just ***** customers out of their hard-earned money. I DO NOT want this to happen to anyone else so I am writing this review so that other travelers and customers will not have to experience what I have experienced with this company. I am going to report this company to the Better Business Bureau as well as my credit card company for *****. This is unacceptable. I tried everything to get UTO Vacations to work with me but they refused. 1 star**** **** ******* ****** we originally had tickets to go to China, but they were cancelled due to COVID-19. We were notified that our credit would expire by the end of 2024 ****** *** ** ********, so we booked a trip not to lose money that had already been spent. Of course, the new tour was MUCH more expensive, and the additional costs were over double our original expenditure. How was the tour we booked? Be forewarned: UTO Vacation chooses hotels far from the city centres. As a result, when the tours end, you are in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, which makes independent exploring challenging. In more than one case, it would have taken 90-120 minutes to get to the city centre by taxi/****. Further, they describe these hotels as 4-5 stars, which is also not the case. Any extra excursions you pay for beyond what is covered in the itinerary are a *******. Would I use UTO again? There is not a chance.Review fromMay S

1 starWe booked a trip with UTO Vacation in 2019 for a trip to China in 2020. When the trip was cancelled UTO Vacation did not provide us a refund. They were the only company we dealt with that did not provide refund for a COVID cancellation. They never offered us a replacement trip with when the travel restrictions to China were over couple of years later. And the credit we had with them expired. So we ended up losing the money we paid. There was five of us who never got our money back. They refused to refund me (even though we hadn't even received an itinerary for the trip) and gave us a voucher. Booked another trip, that UTO cancelled due to China restrictions. Level 3 travel advisory also. Again they refused to refund Since then their prices have quadrupled and our voucher expired. They still refuse to refund our money. My only contact has been through email. I will be reaching out to ****** *** to let them know about this poor company (this is where I heard about the amazing ‘deal’). 1 starOur trip is to start on November 8, 2024. We were not able to upload passports on their website. We called multiple times, got disconnected every time. We chatted online and were someone would call us and nobody did. We emailed multiple times, no responses. After weeks of waiting, we chatted online again, and someone finally called to advised us that because we did not upload our passports we forfeit our trip, there's no refund, and there's nothing we can do about it.Review fromLauritz C

The only info I get when calling is a message to email them and the email address. Their were no visa issues on our part, because we were not going to be in China for the amount of days that the problem would be cause for cancelation. They told me I could only get a UTO credit not a refund, even though they canceled the trip not me. 1 star******** ******** Purchased travel for a group of 16 to China in 2020…obviously didn’t go bc of Covid. They wouldn’t refund and only offered to extend our credit use date. We’ve extended 3 times since then because they never offer any trips anywhere remotely close to the cost of the trip we booked in 2020. I’m trying to get in touch with them to extend travel credits again and the email I’ve responded to in the past is no longer used for correspondence. I received an auto response saying to call for help. I’ve called many times snd no one answers. The recording says to use their online form to submit questions or to use their online chat. When I click on the online chat icon nothing happens and their online form submission says they only respond to requests regarding travel in the next 30 days. Basically there’s no way to talk to them. ***** ***** ** ************
