I have been a loyal CIBC client for over 24 years, and I am deeply disappointed with the recent handling of my **** credit card account. The account was unexpectedly closed without any prior notification, significantly impacting my credit score. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, including requests for account reinstatement, credit score correction, and compensation for the inconvenience caused, CIBC has been unresponsive and unhelpful. This lack of communication and failure to address my concerns is unacceptable. I do not recommend this bank to others based on my recent experience.Review from Abdelfetah A

I don't recommend CIBC ** *** *** ******** ** ****e customer service is bad and their GLOBAL MONEY TRANSFER ** ****. I'm waiting for my transfer since May 24 and it wasn't transferred till today June 5, 2024. I called them on May 29, Jun 1 and Jun 3 and June 5 and every time this asking me new information and telling me it will take 10 business days to be processed. CIBC just lost my business. Once I get my money, RRSP for financial hardship, I’m closing all accounts. I’m so disappointed. They used to be awesome. I never had a problem until now. I have worked with Rani (clearbrook Branch now) for years. Now it seems like I don’t matter. I’ve been with them for over 30 years. What was supposed to be a 2 week wait turned into a 4-5 week wait and I’m still waiting. I think I’m 9 weeks now. A few days before my vacation week 5, Rani tells me I have 3 documents to sign and get notarized. She just found out. She didn’t know. Then I send them to Rani she tells me she’ll keep me posted. It’s been over 2 weeks and I haven’t heard from Rani. I would think she would have gone back weekly to question the delay and send me an update but I’ve yet to hear anything.Review from Redwan M

* ******** ************ * ***** *** ****** ****** ** ** ******** **** **** ******** I did business with them 15 years, when I couldn’t get them to give me a mortgage rate same as their competitors, I had to leave, ****** **** **** ******* ******* ***** ***** ***** They reported a none payment on my mortgage to credit bureau even though my mortgage was on a process of transfer. Cibc bank ** **** ********* their programs don’t work well at all. the manager who has been helping me for 5 months is really trying to help me, for which I am very grateful to her, this is the person who really works and does her job 200%, but I can’t get my money, my ********** money is stuck in the bank, which they don’t have the right to keep it in the bank, there are always reasons that the programs do not work, **** ** **** ***** *** ***** * ****** ***** ********* ** ** ***** ***** *** **** **** *** **** **** ** *** where to go to ask for help is not known.Review from erhan b

Requested a new card. It arrived, set the new pin online. And it told me I need to go to the ATM. I did, the ATM captured my card and did not return. I called CIBC to cancel the card and they said they are not giving my $67 cash back. I am not working with CIBC again.Review from Sarah S

Will never bank with CIBC again. I switched 2 mortgages over to them a few years back and have had the worst experience. The customer service is so poor, it's actually unbelievable. Phone calls aren't returned, meetings get canceled and then can't get a hold of the person to rebook. My experience dealing with CIBC was abysmal. From branch managers not returning phone calls to delays in getting replies, they could not care less. Filed a complaint and they never addressed it. **** ** ****** **** **** ** * *******Review from Agnieszka L

**** **** ** * ***** They cut back your credit limit by 50% in 6 months if you don't use your credit card enough but than to increase your limit again is only by 30%. Also, if you are looking to transfer your balance by any chance, don't forget you can only transfer up to 50% of your balance! They also wouldn't advise you that the transfer was declined, *** **** ** ***** ********** **** ** ***** *** **** *** **** ****. Unbelievable, * ** **** *** *** **** **** ***** ******* ************ *** ***** *** ** ********** **** ****. ***** **** **** ** ********.Ongoing staff changes with declining capabilities. ******** attempts at making appointments with a financial advisor unsuccessful. Call to telephone banking, no appointments available. Nearest financial advisor assigned to me is at another branch in another city.Mistakes made on rrsp transactions with incorrect dollar amounts staff errors.Incorrect advice provided by staff for services that were actually not available. In the past 10 years I have dealt with over 20 different advisors at the same branch as the previous advisor I spoke with was no longer there.Worst banking experience in my lifetime.
