      Constant problem with the app. constantly receive texts telling me "Your trips are still not being recorded by auto merit on your app. This could impact your insurance price at renewal. Log in today and check your settings." I can't tell you how many times I have received this. I check my settings and nothing's changed. When I call in and after some time I'm told it was a glitch it's ok. Well it's not ok to continuously have this issue. And today - Easter Sunday I received the latest in the stream asking me to call in. What do you know? No one's there on a Sunday! Get your app together and stop sending me *********** texts.

      It appears the client is current using an older version of the automerit application which requires updating.
      The client has been invited to delete and reinstall the application to the updated version, this will prevent the client from receiving text notifications to contact belairdirect.
      It has also been recommended that the application be left running in the background to prevent any interruption of data collection, which would lead to automatic text messages being sent requiring the client log back into the application.
      The client has been provided with our contact number should she require additional assistance when reinstalling the automerit application.

      I was with Belair since i bought my house * ********** *** Scarborough, ON, in April 2020. I had some claims as I had sewage back up problems. Since I had problem so I had claims. But recently they sent me a letter saying policy cancelled. This is sad and very frustrating after staying with the company for 4/5 years. Not fair. I am having hard time to find insurance for my house. They could increase my premium or deductible but canceled is totally not agreed. Insurance companies should not do that at all. No one claims if there is no problems. And I believe we pay for the insurance for the accidents that are intentional. I want them to keep me as I never had a claim in the last 1 year as there is no problem.

      We reviewed the concerns shared from the client via email. Unfortunately, due to frequency of claims, we are unable to insure their property after their renewal,  April 15, 2025. The client has been referred to an affiliated brokerage for their insurance needs. We are unable to offer an extension while client seeks insurance elsewhere, as policy has already been lapsed.

      I recently switched from ** for my car insurance. I pay half the price for the same coverage and within 6 days of switching over I was in a no fault car accident. I kid you not when I say within hours I had approval *** *************, I had a rental the same day and every phone call I get the customer service has been through the roof. From the moment I even enquired about switching to this company I was explained every detail and every question answered with grace and willingness. ** ******* **** ******** ****** *** ********* ****** ****** **** ****** ********* **** **** ********* ******** I have been treated like a human a living being through everything it’s just amazing to see such great prices AND service!!!!

      Will never ever go with belairdirect again. Especially after the past month. Had 2 vehicles insured with them. Vehicles were purchased under business name. Asked them to change insurance to business name. Which they did. A few weeks later received phone call that they couldn't insure commercial vehicles. Asked me to find different insurance and that they would not charge me since it was their request. Changed to new insurers. Belairdirect charged me for one month anyway. ***** ***** **** *** **** ***** ****** Will also be canceling my home insurance with them.

      Upon review, the policy was bound in error as it was considered business/commercial usage.
      Our licensed sales agent reached out to the client, apologized and advised that they would need to find a new insurer.
      They were advised as well that we would cancel the policy on a pro rata basis and told them that they would not be charged with penalties.
      We advised the client of the call pull results and explained that the payment withdrawn was for the policy time on risk.

      ***** ******I've been going through a nightmare now for almost 9 months with a **** claims adjuster that thinks she is a plumber. I talked to a manager and was guaranteed I wouldn't deal with her anymore. Well i still had to and she is discounting a letter from a professional business with plumbers and closed my file without my authorization. I phoned again and spoke to someone that said she would call me..she has not as of 2 weeks. I phoned yet again early last week to speak to a manager and again no one has called. I will be cancelling my insurance as soon as it comes up for review again maybe sooner. ** **** ****** ** ** ****** ** *** ***** ** ***** ***** ******* ** ** ********** **** *** ******* **** **** *** *** **** **** *** **** **** **** *** ***** bad service *** **** ********** as they do not fulfill what you are paying for in your insurance policy when the time comes you have an issue. **** ***** ** *** ** **** ******** *** **** ***** **** ******** **** **** *** **** ********* I've never had such a horrible experience with any business ever. They took 25 years of my money ** ** ******* **** * ******** *** wanting what is due from my policy from my first claim ever. As soon as I put a claim in they also doubled my home insurance at their first chance. Be sure to look before your insurance comes up for renewal **** **** *** ****** ** ****

      Claims management has spoken to the customer on April 4th, 2025. They apologized if the customer has felt there was miscommunication surrounding her claim. Intact strives to provide excellent customer service to all their clients. The claims department has agreed to pay the outstanding invoices to avoid further delays. Payment will be made shortly.

      On February, 10, 2025, I changed my large wallet into Ultra Thin RFID blocking wallet. This was when I noticed I didn’t have the updated car insurance slip. I logged into BELAIRdirect ‘s app to print out the updated slips this was when I noticed my car insurance was cancelled. I was very upset with the company because I did not get any notice of cancelation, and I had been driving my car for a month without any insurance. For this reason, they had put me at high risk. I reached out to them to ask why didn’t they give me 30 days notice, I was told they sent the letter on November 29th, 2024. I have not received it to this day. I thought this was very irresponsible and unprofessional of them. I was so happy that I didn’t get in an accident. I had to stop driving my car because I didn’t have insurance, and it took me about 2 weeks to get the insurance. I found this very upsetting, inconvenient, and stressful. The reasons I’m writing this report is because i feel mistreated *** * ** *** **** ****** to go through what I went through.

      It was determined that the client’s concern was about not receiving a notification in regards to their policy renewal lapse.
      They’re unhappy that there were no other communication attempts such as email, text messages or phone calls made in reference to this issue.

      Based on the review that was made, we have sent a registered letter on November 29th 2024 which was more than a month prior to the policy lapse.
      Unfortunately, we’re not able to obtain the mail information as it was not available to us, which we think that the Postal Strike could have attributed to this too.

      It was decided to give an exception for a policy reinstatement and set the review for the policy renewal in 2026.
      We were about to offer this to the client, but they have disclosed that they have found a new insurer which their coverage started in February 21st 2025.
      We advised the client that they may still reach out to us for any questions or clarifications they may have about the policy, and apologized for the inconvenience.

      One of the most horrible experiences I've ever had. In the midst of probate BelAirDirect canceled the insurance policy after they said they wouldn't. *** ******* ******** ** *** ****** * **** ** **** ***** *** *** **** ****** ** ** *** ***** ******** ********** in the midst of any estate dealings. ******** ** ******* Dealing with Belairdirect at this time ** ***** after my mother’s passing and her estate has been horrendous. My parents paid monthly premiums on this policy for 50 years. When my mother passed away I immediately informed BelAir of the situation and explored possibilities for selling the house or renting. ** *** * **** ** ******** ***** *** ** I reached out to the professionals at your insurance company to gather information to help with finalizing her estate. I was assured that the policy would stay as is until I informed you what I intended to do. But this turned out to be false information. As I was deciding to sell the property, which I couldn’t finalize at the time because it was still in probate, I received a letter from your company saying the policy would be cancelled as of March 1 because the house was vacant. (I was at the house to receive the registered letter.) The house was not vacant... Instead of receiving calm, professional guidance I got roadblocks at every turn. I have a full-time house sitter. In addition, [a] the property manager (who lives 2 miles from the residence and checks in every week) is someone whom my family and I have known for 40 years. To have your company insist I hire a ‘professional’ management company was ridiculous and insulting. I was dumbfounded that you were unable to continue the insurance for one or two more months to have probate completed and have the house sold. **** ** ********* ******** *** ************* ** **** ***** ***** ** ************ *** ***** ************ ********* *** ********* ** ***** ********

      A review and a resolution into the concerns were completed and shared with the client. At Belairdirect, we understand that navigating insurance matters while grieving can add to the emotional weight, so we strive to provide support, compassion, and professionalism to all our customers while maintaining and adhering to our own guidelines and policies. After several reviews of these concerns, it was deemed that the property no longer adhered to our rules and guidelines. We apologized for any inconvenience caused by this determination as we could not accommodate the original resolution requested - to extend the insurance coverage past the renewal date. In conclusion, the policy has been cancelled as per the client’s request, prior to the renewal lapsing by underwriting decision. This was completed free of any cancellation fees. A refund has been issued to the client for coverage that was paid for but unused. There were no further questions or concerns presented when the final resolution was provided and communicated.

      I received a letter from this company stating that they were terminating my insurance by special courier. The letter did not explain the reason why. I had to call their call center and spoke with a **** ************* young lady pretending to be mature. She was very **** and I did not appreciate the manner she was speaking to me. I told her I wanted to speak to someone who actually cared. Then Manager Bryan called, **'* ***** ** **** * ***** ***** ** ************ *********. He was very respectful and treated me like a person. *** ***** ***** was quite pleasant and we connected right away. He totally calmed me down without even trying. **** ****** **** **** * *** ***** ***** You need to hire more people like Bryan!!! I got to say you guys are pretty lucky to have him! I was very impressed with him! * **** *** ** ***** ** *** * ******* ******* *** ****** *** *** *** ********* ****** *** ***** *** ***** ****** ** ********* ***** **** **** ** ** **** ***** *** *** *** **** *** *********** Here's the epitome of a wonderful person!       I'm incredibly frustrated with Belair Direct's unwillingness to provide a written letter of experience (LoE) for my daughter's driving record and claim history. This is a standard request for any insurance company, and their refusal makes no sense, especially since they're willing to provide the same information verbally to other insurance companies. To make matters worse, I was sent on a wild goose chase to obtain the LoE, only to receive inconsistent and contradictory information from their representatives. It felt like I was being run in circles, with no one taking accountability for resolving my issue. As a customer, I expect clarity, consistency, and a willingness to accommodate reasonable requests. Unfortunately, Belair Direct fell short on all counts. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

      As a client of Belair, I am appalled at some of the policies they have. I contacted the company disclosing some issues I am having with my bank and unfortunately this isn’t the first time I have had issues with my bank. I did my due diligence and explained the situation even offered to provide documentation from the bank explaining the situation. To my dismay I was told that I will still be charged and NSF fee even though I was doing my due diligence to provide proof of issues. I am even working on changing the banking information as to avoid this issue in the future but Belair is claiming that they do not care, and I was told I should have changed my banking information sooner. Mind you I didn’t know that the issue will continue to occur, but apparently I should’ve looked into the future and been proactive. Belair’s solution is for me to get my bank to reimburse me for the nsf fees that Belair is charging me for, something that my bank had adamantly refused to do since it is not them that are charging me the fees. This has been a horrific experience ** *** *** ***** **** * ********* ***** my bank and I have been dealing with!

      The client was contacted and advised that the NSF fees would not be charged as this issue is out of the client's control.  The client provided a letter from their financial institution indicating they were a victim of fraud.
