DO NOT DO BUSINESS with The Maintenance Shop - ****************** I inquired online about sprinkler blowout and I never heard back. All of a sudden a man shows up at my door to do the work I had already gotten done. No scheduling, no heads up. Later I found a spam message stating someone was coming over, after the fact!! Now he keeps sending me invoices for non cancellation fees that apparently I agreed to receive shady services on their service agreement. Just read their reviews!! Basically when you fill out a form online you are agreeing to them to provide service, not inquiring or trying to set up an appointment. Dont even try to call them to cancel because you need to fill out a form too. Shady business, a shame hes a veteran because I usually prefer veteran owned businesses and they are honest and friendly. Our records show that you were notified in advance of the scheduled service via text message, which included a cancellation link. This notification was sent prior to our technicians visit, not "after the fact," as you stated. It is also clearly outlined in our terms of service that submitting a request online initiates service scheduling unless a cancellation is submitted.
Rejected Complaint:

They are professional in all they do and continue to be my "go to" place for most any repair. They have always communicated with me about any delays expected or when they will be arriving. I have not been home for some of their arrivals but did not hesitate to let them into my garage for timer access. When they were done with what they needed in the garage they simply closed the door and went about their business. My backflow preventer failed the test required by the City of Meridian. We decided to have The Maintenance Shop put in a brand new backflow preventer unit. That afternoon, we noticed the top backflow pipe was not level. We contacted The Maintenance Shop and they sent someone the very next day. The technician agreed that the backflow pipes should not tilt, but he also noticed that it was LEAKING WATER under the ground (this could have been catastrophic). He made repairs. A few days later, we received a NEW BILL that had been increased, and NOW INCLUDED LABOR to fix the faulty installation! I tried numerous times to get a reply from The Maintenance Shop. I was told they do not have time to check email, so text instead. That is what I did. After texting a clear explanation of being charged to fix what they installed, I received a reply "We'll remove the late charge." There was no late charge! They didn't even read the text. Eventually we received the same bill but stating there would be a lien placed on our property if we didn't pay the additional amount. We paid it to avoid a lien. Also, I have used The Maintenance Shop for the past few years for backflow testing and even wrote a 5-star review back in 2021. Pay attention to the negative comments and READ THE CONTRACT - THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR WORK PERFORMED UNSATISFACTORILY. Even so, what business in this day and age does not correct its work that was clearly their work? Though I love supporting veteran-owned businesses and am forgiving of errors, I can no longer support this business because of their lack of warranty and poor communication.The Maintenance Shop, LLC Response

1. We did not increase the invoice amount except for the late fee (which we removed) and the cost of parts needed to fix the old, brittle PVC piping that broke after we pressure tested the new installation and left the property. The break was most likely due to the increased water pressure. You're welcome!
2. You sent us a check after subtracting the credit card fee, which is expected, but the amount was incorrect. We then sent you an updated invoice for the balance. After several days of not receiving payment for the balance, a late fee was added as per our company policy.
3. You were informed by text that if you sent the payment promptly, we would remove the late fee, which we did.
4. We stand by our technicians and their skills. We have more 5-star reviews than any of our competitors have in total reviews. While we do have some 1-star reviews, they are never about the quality of our work. Most are from customers who feel the terms of service they agreed to when signing up for service do not apply to them.

In the ten years that I have lived in ******** I have used the services of the Maintenance Shop for the last few years. I stick with them because they do great work, are easy to work with and send updates so you can plan your schedule. Owner is a real tool. I called for an appt 12 days ago, got a text back with links to click on, I didn't click on any links because they did not apply to my request. so the owner just asked for my name address and email. I supplied those.12 days later no confirmation, no appt, so I went with a better more responsive company. This other company came out very quickly and fixed the job in 15 minutes.Texted The Maintenance Shop back to cancel, The owner told me i need to fill out a form online to cancel. I never had a confirmed appt or signed up in the first place, but he proceeded to tell me he had my form that I filled out... I would love to see it *****, because something tells me you just used the info I texted you and signed me up without telling me anything.I'm not paying your cancellation charge, and as a disabled veteran myself I find your business practices disgusting and shady. NOT female friendly. The technician used way too much air pressure and damaged my brand new backflow preventer according to the technician that came out to fix it. You can see theres water damage to the pipes due to them. They told me they fired the guy because he damaged too many lawns then the owner retracted it and said ** lying about what his own worker told me when he came to do the backflow repair from the blowout. There was water pooling all around my house all winter and the sprinkler valve was left halfway on with water. The technician was very unprofessional inquiring about my religious beliefs and saying he gave up **** and cigarettes. When I asked if they would come turn the sprinklers on to see if there is more damage I got extremely nasty texts from the owner and threats about filing a police report against me when I stated that I will hold them liable for the sprinklers they blew out of the ground, the damaged brand new backflow preventer, and any other issues caused by using too much air pressure he got extremely nasty and sent this text. They arent professional and very aggressive when I asked if theyd inspect for damaged caused by their company.The Maintenance Shop, LLC Response

It's astonishing how someone can distort or fabricate remarks in a review to fit their own narrative, even going as far as inventing conversations that never happened. All our technicians wear video cameras, and we upload the footage to our servers daily, keeping it for one year.
1. The lines weren't subjected to excessive pressure because the machine has a regulator that won't exceed 50 psi.2. The system sustained damage due to freezing temperatures occurring several days before the technician arrived for the blowout, and the damage was noted upon arrival.
3. The employee wasn't terminated for incompetence but for habitual tardiness and a desire to leave early during a season when we had to serve nearly ***** customers.
4. We boast over 300 5-star reviews for our sprinkler blowouts, surpassing any competitor's total review count.
5. The customer refused to acknowledge the terms of the service agreement she signed up for and disregarded the information provided to her. After persistent communication, I eventually had to ask her to stop texting, warning of a harassment complaint if it continued.
6. *****, who diagnosed and repaired the issues during the visit, is highly esteemed by our customers, and the majority of our stellar online reviews are attributed to his exceptional customer service and quality of work.
