Online Purchase - Online Purchase - Fake Concert Tickets Scam

A Facebook post stating they had Taylor Swift tickets that they needed to sell. My daughter knew this person, Erica Brand, from nursing school. The post had a time stamp of July 11 2024 and only 25 minutes when my daughter responded to post. My daughter messaged her about our interest in the tickets and was given a response with a phone number. We were told this person “Erica” only took Apple Cash, PayPal. We proceeded with transaction - buying 4 tickets for Indianapolis Lucas Oil Stadium on November 2, 2024. The FB post even included a screen shot of seating chart in stadium with circled section of seats. My daughter did some checking on fb to try and be sure the account was real and people were commenting on her post as well as having previous posts suggesting she was active. We became a bit suspicious and wanted proof of tickets before sending the money and were sent screen shots of all 4 tickets. At that point we proceeded with the purchase via Apple Cash. There were never any tickets.

Other - Matt Slowiak-Apex Abodes Apartments

This person pretended to be my husbands friend from work. He offers 4 Taylor Swift concert tickets for $500 each. Payments are to be made through Zelle. Luckily Zelle only allows $500 to be transferred per day for new recipients. He used the email [email protected] as his Zelle account email. Once I transferred the $500 he was to transfer one ticket, but claimed Ticketmaster wouldn't allow him to break up the tickets, which got me suspicious because Ticketmaster does allow you to transfer only one. As I looked into the email account I noticed it was linked to Apex Abodes Apartments, which doesn't exist.

Online Purchase

Message posted on Facebook HOA group with a member profile noting “her uncle had Taylor swift tickets for IL and contact her if interested.” I contacted her through Facebook messenger because she was local and has a dog grooming business and a friend of mine knew her. She coordinated the sell of 4 tickets $400 each through PayPal. She provided me the email address of where to send it. Then never sent the tickets. I have screen shots of our conversation through PayPal.

Online Purchase - taylorttpdshop.com

It was the first link on Google when I typed in Taylor swift merchandise. They copied all of her stuff & made it seem legit. Even sent an email saying thanks for subscribing. However there is absolutely no contact us or help links. The link for my tracking is a dud. Product is still not here. Now when I look it up, it isn’t the first link anymore.

Online Purchase - Taylor Swift ticket scam

Someone posted in a woodhaven high school track group text (that has parents and students in it) for Taylor Swift tickets. You are supposed to have to be approved to be in the text group so was presumed to be a parent at the high school. We used paypal friend/family transaction, because it was an individual not a business, but that meant it wasn't protected, so we are out the money for no tickets. They had asked if we had a ticketmaster account because they would transfer the tickets in ticketmaster. They sent screenshots of the tickets. They waited for the money to post. I said we can see it posted. They said okay sending the tickets now. Email never came. They then said they couldn't transfer only three tickets since they bought five and offered the other two an additional $400. I said send the tickets and we will send the balance since we already showed good faith sending money before tickets were received once. Never heard again. Our paypal is linked to bank account not credit card, so we tried to file dispute through bank but they said not very likely since we authorized the transaction. I did it thinking that paypal backed digital tickets but apparently only for the business transactions. We didn't know that you could call an individual a business transaction. It's unfortunate. We will file it with FTC, BBB and police to help track fraud and scammers. Hopefully somewhere along the line it helps. Posted as Betty Hutchinson with number to text 623-377-4556 (turned out to be a google voice account). Paypal to Angie Moore on 6/4/24. I have transaction ID but not sure if that is considered sensitive info so didn't put here

Phishing - Margaret's Pet Grooming

A person pretending to be a friend on Facebook sold Taylor Swift concert tickets. This person was pretending to be Angelique Scianna and talked just like her, I suspect they used AI. Online Purchase - Target/Taylor Swift

3/14/24 on Instagram there was an ad with Taylor Swift promoting a Stanley Tumbler from Target for $5.00. I used my debit card. The next day I noticed two charges for $99.97 and $59.93. I notified my bank that I hadn’t authorized these charges and they started a transaction dispute. They asked me for any records from this transaction and I had none. I never received any emails and I certainly never received a Stanley tumbler. The bank contacted the company and must have provided them with proof of authorization because I was not refunded any money and the case is now closed. On my account the Seller is listed as Secure Pay out of Texas. Phone number listed is 681-235-5729 which is no longer in service.

Online Purchase - Online Purchase - Fake Concert Ticket Scam

They said they had Taylor swift tickets for the Miami concert. They had photos of the tickets. I asked if I could pay for one have them transfer it over so I could be sure. They took the money and then insisted for more. When I said no and that I wanted a refund if they weren’t going to give me the tickets they blocked me.
