My dog attended daycare here for almost a year, and I believed she got good care. However, her Bordatella vaccine came due, and I was unable to get her a vet appointment (due to vet shortages) for 2 months, leaving 2 scheduled daycare dates before her appointment. I asked staff 3 times, and was told it was "ok". I emailed with the owner who acknowledged that she knew, but said nothing about it being a problem. I researched Bordatella vaccines, and found a placebo controlled study confirming that the vaccine is fully effective for at least 13 months (it does not, like **********'s coach, turn into a pumpkin at midnight on day 365). THE *** IS COMPLETELY VACCINATED, ACCORDING TO SCIENCE. I know that Howling Peaks claims to be "science based", and vaccine efficacy is basic science. They agreed. After dropping her off as scheduled, I got a crisis call to pick her up immediately, as her vaccine had expired. Not at drop off, but after the fact. If they had said it was a problem, I would not have taken her in (despite the obvious science, and their agreement). I reminded the owner and manager that the staff had said it was "ok", and was told it was my fault because I should have reviewed the original daycare contract from a year ago (and not trusted staff). I also prepaid for 20 days of daycare, but the owner cancelled the remaining prepaid 3 days because I "publicly shamed them" by being honest about their behavior. If they feel ashamed, they should.

    Hello **********,

I won't comment too much here as we have spoken about this interaction on numerous occasions and via multiple review platforms that you have left reviews on.

I am sorry our policies upset you. I acknowledge vaccine efficacy, but still must hold a policy in place for all of my customers and per municipal law. I apologize you were upset that your dog could not attend daycare without current vaccines. I also apologize that you misunderstood my team, no one okays dogs to come in without current vaccinations on file. I had informed you the week prior to your dog's expiration that she was due for current inoculation. We will try communicate clearer in the future.

Additionally, as we talked about, there was no refund to give as you were charged our normal rate for your days used and there was no remaining amount to refund. The discount is only given when a dog uses all pre purchased days. Your dog was welcome to come back after she was vaccinated, but your treatment of my staff caused me to dismiss you resulting in your 3 unused days.

Kindly discontinue contacting myself and my team. I wish you the best.
