******* Dougherty was to do simple work on a porch. He lied and lied and prolonged doing things properly. I live in ******* and was waiting until I move to ******* before I file a lawsuit and criminal charges. I have text message documentation where he admitted to lying and admitted to not finishing the job.

Thank you for allowing me to respond to this complaint alot more then I got from other government agencies. I was hired to do a job for a ***************, which in fact was a repair job on a roof at her new property after I finished the roof and was paid she asked me about a porch that needed repair I went ahead and repaired the rotten wood and she loved the job and then Mr. ** desided that he wanted the porch bigger and a ramp installed to which I was to busy to do at the time so I infact let a contractors that would help me on jobs here and there do it for them. This contractor started the job and after two weeks I was told it was done but that is when the covid thing happen so *************** did not come up to see the house for a few months I myself was in quarantine for almost two months due to family catching it and for not wanting to expose my customers I stayed away and under lock down. When I finally got the call that she would be returning to the house I went to check everything and to be sure it was completed and cleaned up. Due to no one living there and covid I had not been there since the man started the job. When I arrived there I saw a mess and a job half done and no materials in sight I then tried to call this helper and ask him what's going on here to no avail being as it was three days from her susposed to return I spent those three days and nights working there with no sleep to attempt to fix it for them on the last day I was almost done and desided to get cleaned up since I had not ate or showered at that point in three days I was just working none stop. But again it turned out to be to much messed up about the porch then I was able to fix. When she returned she was very much upset rightfully so but when I tried to explain to her that she agreed to let him do the job and I was attempting to fix it she then fired me and told me not to go on the property. I never got paid for the job to reimburse them anything the deposit for materials was paid and then the materials were delivered and when I so that the rest of what should have been left was missing I had a rush delivery sent out to which I paid out of pocket for to attempt to fix it. After all this was said and done I found out that during my quarantine this man stole over five thousand in tools from me and the paper work for a bunch of jobs, he then proceeded to steal from these customers under my companies name to which I have paid back or done their jobs for free to fix it because I felt responsible for him working for me. I have since then been forced to choose to stay in business or pay these homeowners back that he stole from. So now I am filing for bankruptcy I have lost my house and my company and I even went to jail for a night because even though a customer never met me they were able to sign a warrent for my company because of this man and law enforcement wouldn't let me explain until after they arrested me and booked me for it. The charges have since been dropped and I was released right away once things were straightened out but again at the end of the day I don't have nothing left to give these people when the bottom line is they agreed for him to do the job and because of all this I lost everything. I dont have a business, a car, or a job at this point I sold all my tools to pay people back and try to keep a roof over my children's heads to which I failed and was forced to send them to live with their grandparents so I have nothing left to give anyone else he screwed over and sadly the police still have yet to arrest him even afte charges were filed on him.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have proof of payment. What he said is all lies. I even have documentation from him stating he lied. He also stole items from the property. He never finished anything he started and destroyed what was there to begin with. Whether it was him or a worker of his, it is his responsibility. If he does not make arrangements to refund the money paid to him, I will file theft charges to have him arrested. I have complete documentation of all the lies he told me.
    Sincerely,

    ***************
