    Theyre charging people double of what their bill normally is. Its sad and ridiculous. I was told pay or be shut off.

    Their customer service is under staffed uninformed of the services provided to customers. Waited over 45 mins on the phone to be given wrong information by the customer service representative then was told by a manager that they had no options for helping me I hate this company and the fact they have a monopoly on power in the state, its criminal what they do.

    I am a residential transplant from ******** and a customer of ********************** for nine years. I started in an apartment that used all electric for heating and cooling. I have always lived alone. I automatically placed myself on the budget billing plan and accepted the $150 per month bill. I. 2020, I moved to a 2 bedroom single family home that only requires cooling and electricity. Still on the budget plan and only resident in the home. Prior to my r part time retirement, I worked an average of 7 days a week, minimum of 9 hours per day. Now. fully Retired, I spend an average of 3 months out of the year between *********, TN and ***********, **. In addition, I keep the thermostat around 70 for air. I do not use for heat and my current budget billing is $265.00/month. I am now fully retired due to emergency Open Heart Surgery. Not on Disability receiving earned Social Security a fixed income. After contacting Alapower about the bill, I was informed that amount was based on budget billing and the actual bill would be close to $500 per month. I also inquired about getting help with my bill and was provided with a list of phone numbers. They resulted in no a swers, no more funding was available or be the right caller for the Help Lottery! Alapower is just like the other Corporate entities, let capitalize and fill our coffers by taking from the American, poor tax paying consumers. I would bet there are many unheard victims of this greed. Their annual parties in ********** keep the champagne, surf and turf flowing for hours. Not hearsay, from attendees. Lastly, I have yet to see, hear or smell a Meter Reader in this neighborhood! I appreciate you BBB and ABC30.

    Literally the worst experience of my life. This company has a monopoly on the state and they treat the customers like it. Over charging, failing to close accounts when requested but still racking up late fees without notification and then spamming my mailbox with collection inquiries. Ive spend combined tens of hours on the phone with these people and the representatives and completely unhelpful and will lie to you to get you to believe your issue is resolved. All this after waiting upwards of two hours on hold. This company is shady and poorly run

    This company deserves Zero stars. My power bill has gone up by $200.00 in the past 8 months. I called the company, I'm keep getting told, "ma'am you're on budget billing, & your power fluctuates like this" I told them to go from $290 to $389 in 8 months when I don't use much electricity, hardly wash & dry clothes, cook, etc or whatever is unacceptable. I'm on disability with rent $910.60, now power is $387.00, my check is $1,300.00, I'd be homeless. There's no more help. Alabama Power has greedily taken all my assistance money, $2,700.00, leaving me with over $200 balance to pay next month. I can't live like this.

    We bought a house in Alabama in March 24. When we had the account established, they asked if i wanted the outdoor light on. I didnt know what that was so I said Ill let you know when I get back home. Found out its a street lamp in my driveway called back and said I dont want this light on. When they came out to unscrew the lightbulb, the gentleman said if you decide you dont want this post, you can call them and theyll come remove the post for you. After a few more calls, they come remove the pole. A month goes by and we have no bill. I call Alabama Power and they dont know what happened. They started a new account gave me a new account number and said it was all set. A month later, I still dont have a bill. I call back and they dont know whats wrong but theyre gonna look into it Later still no **** ***** no charges in my online account. I call again and speak with ******, who promises that she will look into it and give me a call back the following week. Not only did ****** not call me back like she had promised but I get a bill in the mail for over $1000. One of the charges is an account establishing fee for $40. So I called ****** And she said that l they need to charge that fee for when they establish an account. I am disabled and now they want me to pay, on top of my monthly charges, and additional $166 a month for 6 months. I cant believe they have, with all the calls I have made, trying to get this figured out, still trying to s**** me over. Alabama Power should be ashamed.

    After a big storm, the Alabama Power linemen had us back up and running in about twelve hours. Some may complain that its to long to wait but when you consider they had to set a new pole, cut trees, and run lines all in the middle of the night, I was extremely impressed. Thanks to all the hard working techs. Stay safe!!

    Among the highest rates in the nation in one of the poorest states. Power loss is a potential with a mild breeze. No transparency with the public. Higher than average profits. The lineman and crew who work for them are 5 star however.

    Look. Our power is off at least once a month for no good reason. It will be fair weather and it goes off. I don't understand what is going on. If there is a problem with the grid it needs to be fixed. I pay my bill on time and never have been late. This is getting old. Please do something
