I enlisted the services of Parkway Tax Services to file my 2021 taxes in February, 2022. I contacted them numerous times before April 15, 2022 to see if my taxes were filed. Each time I was told they were still working on them. Just before the tax deadline, I again called and was told that Parkway was filing an extension because they could not complete them on time. I trusted they were telling me the truth. I began calling again a week later and then also entrusted my mother to assist as I travel extensively for business and could not go into their office. I was told not to worry about my taxes because they had until October to file with the *** rules. Due to my travel schedule, I asked my mother to stop by their office and find out the status. When she visited their office today they gave her all of my paperwork and said they had not filed the extension. I don't know if I will owe taxes or will receive a refund. If I owe, then I will now face a late filing penalty and will incrue interest. I also have to find another tax preparer to actually file my taxes.The only explanation I was given was that the person working on my file was out of the office and wouldn't even return their calls. When we asked to speak with the manager or owner, we were told they were out on medical leave and that no one was in charge. No apology was offered. They in fact told my mother that they had another 150 cases similar to mine.Business response

Due to unforeseen circumstances I (the owner) was out with a medical situation during this time. We value all of or clients and regret this situation occurred. If this client wishes to bring her tax information back to us I will be glad to file her taxes for her at no charge and if she is levied any penalties Parkway Tax will pay them for her.
