We contacted ****, reportedly co-owner of Sarahs Tree *********************************************** to provide an estimate for the removal and hauling away of a dead hickory nut tree along our driveway. Initially asked $2,200 but ultimately came down to $1,600. He provide a written proposal for the foregoing amount which included cutting down the tree and disposal of the same. We accepted. **** and a crew of 7 arrived on 29 Aug 24, cut down the tree and deposited pieces of the trunk/branches/limbs/etc along ************* at the corner of our driveway and Heritage as well as beside the property of 2 of our neighbors. When asked about hauling off the debris, **** indicated it would be done that evening. The debris was not removed. It is now 2:00 PM, Thursday, 1 August, and after numerous telephonic contacts with **** regarding debris removal and unkept promises to do so, the debris remains untouched. Additionally, he now refuses to answer his phone, **************, and has failed to respond to the numerous messages we have left via recording. We are 80 & 83 years old. Our internet research of the firm reveals a history of exactly the same type of performance among Huntsvilles elderly dating back to 2017 and earlier. We are requesting a refund of $400 from the company in light of their refusal to uphold their contractual agreement to haul away the remnants of the tree. We intend to report this matter to the Madison City Police Department. Feel free to publish the contents herein within the BBB website.

BBB Complaint #:  22078528. Please be informed that Sarahs Tree Services & Landscaping finally picked up and hauled away the larger pieces of wood and associated debris this AM, 2 August 2024. We were not informed in advance of the pickup and it was executed relatively early in the morning. When my wife was able to assess their effort she confirmed the afore described pickup. She was confronted, however, with significant pieces of scrap and small to medium small covering of waste covering the edge of our lawn and *************. This situation was also present at the two areas of our neighbors they used to place their waste. It took my wife a good hour to partially clean up the mess left behind.

Please be advised we hereby withdraw our request got the BBBs support in having Sarahs Tree Services reimbursement of $400 from Sarahs based upon their excessive delay in fulfilling the terms of their contract. We do request this matter be posted on the BBBs website as a warning to other elderly within our community.  ***********************, 2 Augustt 2024

On December 03, **************************************************************************************** the neighborhood and wanted to know if I needed any work done. He showed me their business license and proof of insurance. I agreed and they began right away. They informed me that they could not finish taking down the biggest tree because it had grown in to the chain link fence. They took $400.00 off of the $7500.00 bill. I could not argue with them, because I don't like to argue. They moved MOST of the debris to the front yard and said that a truck would be by, by 5:00 pm. It took me weeks of complaining to get them to remove the debris. They still did not finish the final clean up, and again, it took me weeks to get that done. He had his employee's come out on Christmas Eve to finish that. I have made several attempts to have them grind down some tree stumps that were already there. I have been told ( by an employee of theirs) that they had taken advantage of me on the price, because I am a senior citizen. It is an awful feeling to feel I had been taken advantage of. So now, thinking that they won't refund me based on that premise, I have decided to call and ask that the large tree ***** be removed.I have heard, "I'm on my way", "the employee's couldn't find the address", " I gave them the wrong address", "I'm right in the neighborhood, I'll be right over", "I can't get ahold of the ***** grinder". This is all in the last three days. I called the owner, *****************************, and her voice mailbox is full and I texted her and she called right away and said she would check on it and get back to me by the end of the day. That was yesterday, April 20, 2023. I heard NOTHING.I have sent copies of their bill and a picture of the tree *****. I think the file is too big to send more pictures.Thank You for your time.***************************

**** and I agreed to the cutting down of a large pine tree and removal of debris. He showed me what I have to think were fake business license and prove of insurance. This tree was cut down on 1/11/23. When topping the tree, it demolished an ***** year old peach tree and caused a large divot in the yard. They also left the yard and driveway trashed. **** said he would come back the next day to clean up. I reluctantly agreed to let them replace the tree. **** told me there was one debris pickup ahead of me and they might not get it that day. The following week I called him and asked about debris removal. He then told me that there were four ahead of me. He never followed up with anything. Today is 2/9/23 and I finally found someone to remove the debris and paid to have it completed. Since this began I have had numerous professionals and city workers tell me that this is happening throughout the city with this bogus company.
