I purchased a 2022 Cadillac Xt4 on June 23, 2022. On November 15, 2022 on my home from work on a 2 lane highway, the vehicle went into Park and suddenly stopped. The vehicle would not move out of gear and the transmission light came on.After I could not get it out of gear, I removed myself from the vehicle because I was afraid that the vehicle would be hit. After about 15 minutes, I tried to move the ********** and was able to move the gears. I drove with my flashers home and before I reached my destination it moved to park again on its own and was stuck.I purchased my vehicle from Classic Cadillac of Montgomery, however I live in **********, **, so I had the car towed there. The service department indicated that they had to contact GM to find out the issue and I was told it was the Transmission Control Module.Needless to say, I am terrified to drive this vehicle and not convinced that it will not happen again. When I took my vehicle to the Classic Cadillac of Montgomery dealership, the service manager told me that it was a GM problem and the dealership could not lose any money and I would have to pay my current vehicle off to purchase another vehicle (I was looking at the XT5 model).Since, I am a loyal Cadillac buyer (this is my 4th Cadillac) hoping that you could help with a resolution without any legal intervention. I am very disappointed that the dealership would not work with me, I do not have the peace of mind of quality that I had experienced with my previous Cadillac purchases.I would like to purchase another model (XT 5), but do not feel I should have to pay my new vehicle off because of a serious safety defect with the Transmission.
