On Nov 23, 2022 our 3 dogs were boarded at the facility owned by *********************** in ******, **. We received a phone call on Nov 25th while in ********** for the holiday that our 2 Westies were attacked by a pit bull. We left Ca immediately to retrieve all 3 of our dogs, including a Golden Retriever. On Sat Nov 26th we took our 2 Westies to emergency care in ****. We have delivered a bill to *************** asking him to pay for this emergency visit of $803.85 that we paid to VCA ********************************** of **. *************** has now hired an attorney & requesting that we sign off on a legal contract & only then will he pay us. We are not interested in any legal intervention with ***************. We just want our vet bill taken care of as his responsibility as the kennel owner. It is his negligence that has put us in this situation.Business response

We are responding to a recent complaint with respect to alleged injuries caused to two dogs under the care of our company. We immediately cooperated agreeing to pay the veterinarian bills in the amount of $803.85 including waving pet boarding fees all upon the advice of our attorney to be sure this matter was properly finalized. We provided a standard General Release for signatures by the pet owners which is required particularly as a result of litigation documents apparently filed by the pet owners in connection with local court in ******, **. Unfortunately, it appears that the pet owners refuse to cooperate although we complied with their request.Customer response

My husband & I received a document from Mr *************************** attorney on 12/19/22 stating that they need us to sign & agree to this settlement. We were not comfortable signing this document without the advice from an attorney, which we did but had to wait until after the holidays to consult with one. We consulted with an attorney on1/5/23 and his advice was to amend the document and we sent the signed document back to *************** to get his signature on it as well. This was sent by ***** on 1/9/23 and delivered to ***************, which he received it at 9:45 am. We had 30 days to respond to him, which we did. Initially we gave *************** a bill for the vet care on Nov 28, 2022 requesting he pay these fees. *************** ignored our request & it was after 2 weeks of waiting that we were forced to take this matter to small claims court, which we have heard nothing back at this time. All we are asking is for *************** to do the right thing as the kennel owner & take accountability for his negligence & and to pay the vet bill of $803.85. This matter could have been resolved back in Nov, but *************** chose to avoid us. *************** is lying that he tried to take care of this matter immediately, we are still waiting for this to be resolved.
Thank you, ***** & *******************
