Sharp Contracting continues to refuse to do warranty work on their installation of stamped concrete. I have contacted them at least 15 times in the past two years. They have visited my property and have observed the damaged area and agreed that a repair is necessary. The damage was caused by their employee "finishing" the work. However, they won't schedule a repair.I sent them a certified letter (received by Sharp on 1/15/22) summarizing the problem. They responded by e-mail that they won't schedule work when I am not at home. I responded that I only want the problem repaired and requested them to schedule. I have not received a response. I have called them repeatedly, most recently on January 31 and again on February 7, 2022. They called today but said that they can't even come out and look at it until March 10. .Business response

The contract was signed 7/23/21.The contract was for *******. After deposits and deductions it was 2707.04.It was broken into two project. One for ******* and the second for *******. Part of the second project being completed in which I payed *******. Due to installation issues like irrigation being cut and seeping through the newly poored concrete, them coming out to do the first project and saying they would have to do something else, and not communicating for months; I have decided to cancel the remaining portion of the job. This is even though I have paid more than what has been done at my house. I have paid about $600.00 more than what has been done at my house. At this point I am willing to walk away. I don't care about the money, but now they have threatened to put a lean on my house for the remaining balance of $1000.00.Business response

Evetime we talk with customer he becomes verbally abusive and then hangs up on our staff. we pride ourselves in always doing our best to find solutions to any customer concern, however we do need customers to allow us to help.

I prefer to respond through the BBB. As ***** has stated he feels that I am an abusive customer and person so I feel going this route is best for all parties. I will no longer communicate with
him via phone to protect me from the slander and misrepresentation of me that he portrays. I have stated the two ways I am willing have this handled. If there is another route I am willing listen. Again
phone calls are very unproductive and he refuses to move past my apparent short comings. Email correspondance is fine and leaves documentation of what has transpired.

On 03-10-21 Myself and co-owner **** ***** hired sharp to do $4,676.07 worth of work to install a paver walkway, add planters and to resurface a pool deck We paid $1,044.93 as a deposit As of 12-15-21 no work has been done, and we have never been given a start date of any kind. As per the contract "Please note: once your job is scheduled we have already applied effort to your job, as a result, if a non-refundable deposit was not already charged, there will be a contract (written or verbal) 20% cancellation fee." As of Nov. 2nd we have contacted them repeatedly by email and phone to cancel the project and return our deposit. They refuse to respond in any way to our request. We would like them to return the full $1,044.93 deposit because: They have done no work of any kind, and they are avoiding our attempts to contact them. The contract states that they will keep the deposit if we cancel after we are given a date the work would take place, they have never done that in writing or orally.Business response

Sharp was to repair and resurface the Cool deck paint around the pool and the attached patio as well. I am a repeat customer and I was satisfied the first time it was resurfaced several years ago in 2014, the job was done by two people and the results were good. Because the company had been here before they had a record of measurements, etc., everything was conducted by email or phone calls.This time, one man arrived to do the entire job, he did arrive later in the afternoon and therefore had to complete the job over two days.The workmanship is not as expected, there are several places where the Cool decking material is lumpy around the joints between a few of the concrete sections, some places that were missed, and a few spots that have faded.The total cost was $1,346.41 which has been paid in full.I sent the company an email that included pictures but they have not responded to it. In addition, I called and did not receive any answer.I would like someone to come and inspect the work and provide the same level of finish as the first time I used the company.Business response

I certainly empathize with the current situation in the world due to the pandemic, and all of the ramifications that accompany it, the response get to us when youre able is a bit ambiguous.

I received a quote on 4/09/21 for a planter wall & artificial grass for my back yard and was informed I need to put a deposit down to be put on a waiting list (8-10weeks out). I gave my deposit of $2,00.00 on 4/28/21.10 weeks out would be 7/10/21, I never received a call.I have been calling all this week with no return call to confirm a work order for my project.I called 8/16, 8/17, 8/18, 8/19 and the line just states they are busy & will return my call on phone # calling from. I even left voice messages on 8/18 & 8/19, still no return call.This is bad business ethics, and starting to wonder if this company is still in business or will I need to pursue the refund of my deposit.The BBB should not continue to endorse this company.Business response

I hired Sharp contracting to do patio and pool deck work. After two no shows without an attempt to contact me, I called the office to inform them I no longer want to do business with Sharp and they need to return my deposit. The manager (****) then called me and started issuing threats of putting a lien on my home. He then strangely tells me he is going to find out where I work and file a BBB complaint against me. I would like my deposit of $287.82 returned promptly without having to correspond with them again since the guy never stops talking and only knows how to communicate in threats and insults. You may also want to reassess the A- grade BBB has given them, the review boards are full of documentation regarding their poor customer service, lack of follow up and rude behavior.Business response

Customer was very threating and abusive to our staff, we will be filing a pre- lien on customers home to protect our rights.
