On Jan 23rd, an email was sent to the manager of this business to address the following issues. One of the office workers was very unprofessional and hung up the phone in the middle of a conversation regarding rent prices. We pointed out that the renewal notice was sent with the finalized price only 2 weeks before our renewal date. The letter is dated Jan 10th and our renewal date was Jan 24th. Practically forcing us to renew our lease to not incur fees as the letter does state that we as tenants must give at least 30 days notice before if planning on leaving In renewing our lease we became aware that Desert Wide has failed to file and record application paperwork of one of the occupants living with us. Desert Wide has also left us without heat through all of Dec, the coldest part of the ** winter. All of this was addressed in the email sent to the controller for Desert Wide Properties. We have sent multiple follow *** with no response. Previously we were also communicating with the Receptionist who also started ignoring my emails. We have had no communication with them for over 2 weeks now.

Thank you for bring this to our attention. In reviewing the emails and notes, you were originally contacted on 12/28/2021 regarding the lease renewal and to determine what your intent was when the lease completed its term. Your lease term date was 01/25/2022. Our procedure is to reach out to the Tenant at least 60 days in advance. During this time we are also contacting the Owner to determine what they intend to do with the property, the lease amount or the Tenant. Unfortunately, it does appear that the internal renewal process did start late. It was also assumed that since we were within the 30 days required in the lease and had not received notification to NOT extend the lease from the Tenant, their intent was to stay.

During this unprecedented market, we do have a significant number of Owners that are increasing the monthly rent. Some are increasing one, two or three hundred dollars a month and some are increasing hundreds of dollars, with the intent of placing a new Tenant and receiving top monthly rent. This is completely within the rights of the Owner and in this case, the notes indicate that the Owner felt the increase was justifiable and lenient after reviewing the rental comps.

I do apologize for the late notification. I would suggest that in the future, feel free to contact Desert Wide Properties prior to your lease term date to discuss your options. I also apologize for the delay in responding. I spent the full month of October 2021 with Covid and two weeks in the hospital with Covid pneumonia, returning to office in mid-November 2021. It took quite a while to get back up to speed both health wise and work wise. We have also changed staff and have a new Property Coordinator with over 30 years of property management experience. This will help in the future.

Thank you again for making us aware of these issues.

I moved out of a rental home at *************************************************. I lived there for 6 years. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 11:20pm, I dropped off an envelope at the Desertwide Properties office. The envelope contained the *** CCRs, 2 garage door openers, 2 house keys, 1 mailbox keys, 1 unknown key. On the front of the envelope, it had my forwarding address of ***************************************************** 85212.The move out inspection was completed Saturday, October 2, 2021, by Jazmin.I have attempted to resolve this with them multiple times, have heard "sorry we're short staffed", and have Ive left multiple messages. I called on October 15th, Oct 26th, Nov 18th, and today, Nov 19th. When I requested to speak with a manager today, I was transferred to voicemail. I called back and asked to not be transferred to voicemail. I was again sent to voicemail. They just automatically transfer my calls to voicemail when I attempt to call now.As of today, November 19, 2021 (58 days later) I still have not received my Security Deposit and/or a reconciliation of accounts.

Thank you to ******************* for letting us know of this problem. In researching this situation, it appears to have hit Desert Wide Properties while training two new Property Coordinators with limited experience, and we lost the Office Manager for almost two months to Covid, including two weeks in the hospital. During this chaotic time, this Tenant's security deposit should have been processed and mailed out. I do apologize for the delay in training and response. Know that we have addressed the Property Coordinator issue and now have staffing with years of experience so this should never happen again. I do see the information and a refund of $568.24 was mailed to the Tenant on 12/06/2021, after the Office Manager was able to get back to work and in the office.

Again, I do apologize on behalf of Desert Wide Properties. Please let me know if you have questions. Thank you.
