I have a 2012 Chrysler T&C with a check engine light that I took to Big ** They diagnosed the engine with a mis-seated valve. Seeking a second opinion and someone more specialized, I took it to Greulichs. They quickly diagnosed it as a bad fuel injector which they told me was causing the misfire in cylinder 1 and I paid them to replace it. Given the age of the vehicle, they talked me into replacing all 6 fuel injectors (5 of that didnt NEED to be replaced) which cost at extra $1,000 ($200/ea). In total, the bill was $2,100. They told me that was my issue and I'm good to go. I even asked, in person, what to do if the light comes back on and ***** told me that it wouldn't and that their work has a warranty on it and with any issues, I could bring it back. I drove it about 20 miles and my check engine light comes back on with a misfire in cylinder 1. Surely that would be covered under the warranty I was promised so I took it back in and requested they fix it. They re-diagnosed the vehicle and told me I had spoiled the cylinder by driving the vehicle too long with the check engine light on and that the engine was totaled. I called and fought the fact that they charged me $2,100 to work on an engine that was totaled. Their district manager called me and told me that he wanted another tech to look at it (apparently not all his techs are trustworthy...). The new tech told us that it was a DIFFERENT part in the engine that was actually damaged and would need to be repaired to fix the misfire - ***** ballparked this around $6,000 based on another 6 cylinder job. So they took $2,100 from me to not fix my issue, promised me a warranty, and then told me that the engine was basically totaled. Had I known it was going to be $8k to fix, I wouldn't have invested in a car with that many miles but now they stole $2,100 from me and I have no remedy for my engine with a misfire in cylinder 1. BUYER BEWARE, these are the old school car mechanic crooks that your parents warn you about.
