We attended a vacation membership presentation at Vidanta ************** on November 7, 2022. We refused their offers at the presentation, and they took us to another area where they said we would be given our gifts for attending the presentation. However at that location they had another person that made us more offers. What he told us is that they have people who are trading in their old memberships for upgraded memberships and they can sell the original memberships for a better deal. He told us that for $10000 he could sell us a membership for 1 week per year in a two bedroom unit at the Grand Mayan for $499 per week and we would also receive 2 "world wide weeks" per year at a maximum cost of $499 per week. He explained to us that the other presenters were probably trying to sell us a membership for the Sea Garden and that this membership he was offering is for the Grand Mayan which is a considerably better resort. Also he stated that this a legacy membership and that is why we could get the better price of only $499 for the two bedroom. We settled on this membership for a price of $5678 ($8000 CAD). In April when we tried to book our first week we were told that the cost of 1 week in a two bedroom at the Grand Mayan would be $1926. They said that there is no such membership as was described to us in the presentation, when you are sold a membership it is not for any specific unit and the prices are whatever the current rate is. The only thing that they can offer us for $499 are the Getaways for $499 and Under. We then asked for a cancelation of our membership, since they would not honor what was told to us in the presentation. They told us that we could cancel at any time but we could not get back the $5678 we paid. I would like to cancel our membership contract #INE15775 and receive a refund . I believe this is fair since we have not used the membership for anything, and they are not willing to honor the conditions the salesman presented to us.Initial Complaint

My partner and I have been victims of their deceitful and exploitative practices during our recent visit to their resort. We implore you to take immediate action on our behalf to rectify this injustice, attain a full refund, and ensure the cancellation of our contract. The comprehensive details of our deeply distressing experience: On August 21, 2022, my partner and I stepped into Vidanta's sales office, we were lured by promises of idyllic vacations, luxurious amenities, and unparalleled experiences, all wrapped in a glamorous package of financial gain. We signed the contract, parting with $6950 of hard-earned money. On May 6, 2023, we stepped foot onto the property, we were greeted not with warm smiles and open arms, but with a harsh reality check. Everything we had been led to believe, the grandeur of the amenities, the exclusivity of the experiences, and the promised return on investment, was nothing more than a carefully crafted facade. The amenities we were supposed to enjoy as proud members of the Vidanta family were non-existent. We discovered a litany of undisclosed charges, silently accumulating and devouring our savings. These charges, cunningly hidden in the fine print of our contract, drained our finances and left us teetering on the brink of financial ruin. Our attempts to seek resolution and understanding were met with a resounding silence. Calls and emails went unanswered, and our pleas for assistance fell on deaf ears. Vidanta's deliberate avoidance and lack of cooperation left us feeling abandoned and betrayed. We urgently seek your assistance in achieving the following resolutions, which we believe are both fair and just: A complete refund of the exorbitant amount we paid for the contract, including the upfront payment of $6950, as well as a refund for all the undisclosed charges that have left us financially devastated, as well as, immediate and irrevocable cancellation of our contract, with no further financial obligations or penalties.Initial Complaint

This is regarding contract number ICE15421, member ID ********** April 26, 2023, I purchased 2 resort weeks at Vidanta at the sales presentation for approximately $3700. The salesmen made other verbal promises that they did not follow through on in order to pressure me into making the purchase. I was told that the complimentary week at a Vidanta resort would be at the Grande Luxxe in ************** but the reservation was made at the Grand Mayan. The 10 free flights that they said I would receive are actually up to 70% discounts on international flights. The $2000 credits towards luxury resorts were actually partial credits towards bookings. I was told to post the weeks at Vidanta that I purchased on Vrbo but was not informed of the 8% fee. They brought me into a room to verbally record a contract and when I tried to mention the other promises they talked over me and tried to change the subject.Initial Complaint

It was when I went to TimeShare #3 ~ the Vidanta in ********************** ~in late January, that things got to a horrible state. The tour lasted nearly 4 hours and when it came time to making a deal, the team at Vidanta promised to absorb the assets from the first two properties. They mentioned that Vidanta has no maintenance fees and that, combined with the assets I already had, seemed like a plan. It was never discussed what terms I would get from the first two properties. I returned from that that week to ****** with a serious case of Covid, hospitalizing me for 4 days. Honestly I was pretty out of it for about a month. When I returned to ********, my primary residence, I looked at my paperwork and it said I had a zero balance. I called the Vidanta to confirm that. There was no mention of any bank loan for $29,000.00, just a balance due of zero dollars. I received an invoice from One ************* which was a mystery to me. I called them and they said it was the loan to Vidanta. That shocked me. When I called the property they had no record of any transference from the first two places. I looked at all my paperwork and there was nothing about a loan.I finally was witnessing what people say about timeshares. I was lured into all 3 deals by some very swift salespeople. I should have realized that they were talking a mile a minute and there was no way I could comprehend all the elements of a sales pitch. Vidanta, like the other places, reduced the amount but I was under the understanding that my prior assets had been enough to pay off what I owed them ~ therefore a zero balance which they confirmed when I called. I was greatly mistaken. I have gotten 2-3 calls to speak with me about absorbing the first two properties but I have not spoken with anyone about it because I know its not true now.Initial Complaint

Long story short, we tried to make the best of a contract we signed under duress, but everything went wrong; this was a fraud. Perks in the contract were not available and rescheduling the trip we already paid for came with additional hidden costs. Ideally, we want a full refund, but at the very least, we need to warn others of this scam as we have already gone through immense emotional and mental strain from this ordeal.Contract signed under duress with no way to reasonably redeem benefits or cancel contract based on inability to fulfill offer by Vidanta/Limitless Vacations (LV)/Ventas ************.- Baited with free breakfast - Contract signed for $2,150 under duress at 11/29/2021 - Held hostage for 7+ hours (9am-past 4pm)- Pressured by numerous sales reps for over 6 hours - No was not taken as an answer and we even feared for our safety - At least 3 different websites and 3 different numbers required to access benefits;- Free resort week offer not fulfilled after modification request even after $99 fee was paid for the option to modify/cancel.- $299/week stays increased in price when trying to redeem and number of availability was deceptive compared to the live presentation;- Cruise certificates required additional fee for redemption, which was not mentioned during the live presentation. - Resort vouchers were useless when trying to redeem on the website - No assistance offered when calling customer service. Was only to be yelled at, put on hold, and told to call a different number/department between Vidanta and LV - reservations, member services, renewal department, etc.- Contract unable to be canceled as fee is nonrefundable even when their end of the contract was not fulfilled - Only after a social media post did someone contact me. A manager called only to stress that I needed to take down my post before getting any assistance, but only for the one free week, which I never want to visit after all this trauma.Initial Complaint

On June 15, 2022 i purchased a vacation membership from VIDANTA, i paid a total of ************************************** get. The main membership benefit they offered me was 2 weeks per year at a maximum price of 299 per week, i called ************** (vidanta) to reserve and use 1 of my weeks, they told me that i have to call ************** to reserve with limitless vacations because the 2 weeks i get per year have to be reserved with limitless vacations, i call limitlesss vacations and they say they have nothing about my 2 weeks per year and to call back vidanta at ************** . And that is the game they've been playing with me, at this point all i want is *** money back because as I've been researching online about this company it was all just a scam, please help me get my money back. I was forced to purchase a timeshare on 7-5-17. I did not know about making a report to BBB. I don't know what you can do to help. I have emails. I said I was not interested. I said I was hungry and couldn't think. I have this in writing. I also cancelled the next day and we were physically held and not allowed to leave the hotel without signing that the cancellation was void. I tried to reason with them. Sent many emails. The signature on the cancellation of the cancellation is not even my signature. I don't know who to go to and I cannot afford to pay thousands of dollars to try to get out of it. Any assistance would be helpful. For readers that are curious about Vidanta; I strongly caution you. I was coerced to sign and don't know how to get out of it.Initial Complaint

The worst of the worst of the worst timeshare you could possibly imagine. RUN!!!! Youre basically spending thousands of dollars for access to something Expedia could give you for free. There are no deals and discounts. The hotels they offer are just really really terrible or they tack on extra fees. The cheap weeks have horrible options for hotels (a weird amount of them are in *****??) without access at all to most states and lots of countries. Its just a joke. The cruise credits theyll incentivize you with are free but you have to pay a $1500 certificate redemption fee which is so sleezy and misleading. The free stays theyll pressure you to upgrade and spend an arm and a leg to do it. When you refuse all of it and ask how to cancel, theyll either A)put you on hold indefinitely so you cant get through to talk to someone B) sound understanding and tell you to just stop paying the bank your Loan (horrible, dangerous advice) C) Try and ignore all your concerns and get you to book your free week or D) ignore you and all of your follow *** going forward. Its horrible. Its sleezy. Its dishonest. The hotel isnt even that nice and everything they say in the meeting is misleading. I could not have worse things to say. And I actually have parents and friends with timeshares that ARE good and helpful so Im not a total timeshare hater. But this my friends this is a flat out scam.Initial Complaint

It has unfortunately been a difficulty keeping up with this timeshare. It has caused issues financially, healthwise and with our relationship. I hate that we were pressured during the presentation into purchasing this timeshare. It was one of the biggest mistakes we could have made. Since purchasing the timeshare we really only used it a few times in the beginning. My health is not the best and because of that we cannot travel much. I personally have major health issues, that being diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, chronic back pain, and also anemic. My husband has health issues also. As you can see, we deal with alot and do not need the constant stress of the timeshare as well. Is there anything we can do to get out of our contract with Vidanta? Please let us know so that we can act on this as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.****** and *************************
