I visited a Discount Tire located at ******************************************************** ************ near my home today August 24, 2022 at 8:17am to inspect a tire low on air. The technician who inspected my tire (*****) informed me I had a nail in it but could be easily repaired. I agreed and proceeded with the repair. Upon completion of repair I was given a bill for around $115.00 and change or so dollars. I asked why so much for a nail repair and person at service desk did not know so went to get his manager. The manager then came and informed me that there was no charge for the nail hole repair I had been placed on some program where if they couldn't repair my tire in the future they would replace it. I told him I wasn't interested and his response was "Then I won't be seeing this car here ever again" to which I responded: Apparently not.I was never informed of this prior to the repair and would have gladly paid for any repair, but felt forced to purchase something I had not asked for, plus the manager's attitude encouraged me to file a complaint. Extremely poor customer service from this establishment. Once I hot home and did the research, I found out they are not BBB accredited which is never a good sign.

Both the ************** Mgr's attitudes were very disrespectful. I got a dashboard notification alert that my back tire was low in pressure. **** (Asst **** goes out to my car and visually inspects it and then tells me the back tires look fine but that I need two new front tires. I agreed because I've noticed the wear myself, so I agreed, but I also asked about the warranty status for my existing tires. He then told me that I didn't purchase any tires from them before and I let him know that this was the only place I go for tires. He then again shook his head and repeated that I did not purchase tires from them previously. I tried to correct him but he was adamant. I had to go out to the car and pull out the inv from my dashboard and he quickly stated that they no longer sell Dunlops anymore, so that was the reason. Okay, so we moved past that moment of shame and **** outlined what would be included in the srv and said they would rotate the back tires to the front, put the two new tires on the back and check all tires for correct pressure. When my car was done, I asked the service guy about my original concern re the low pressure tire and he told me there was a nail in the tire and that it was repaired. I get on the frwy and my tire pressure gauge pops up again on my dashboard w/ the tire now having only 19 lbs. I go back very upset, and **** tells me to calm down or he's not going to help me. I lost it at that point, because while he was talking, he was acting as if he was going to laugh. He then tells the srv guy to put on a new tire, like that was going to make everything okay again. I called the corp ofc and the next day the store mgr (****) calls me but you could readily tell that he's not really concerned. I feel they should repl the last tire because I lost a 1/2 day of work and my car now has 3 of the same new tires and one old diff brand tire and this could cause a problem with my drive train. After such disrespect, I refuse to pay them another dime.

      Customer response

****** from America's Tire contacted me today (8/19) and offered to put a 4th tire on my car at no cost, which I considered to be acceptable customer service after what I went through.  He apologized for what happened and was looking to set things straight.

However, the disturbing, frustrating and unacceptable customer service actually continued. Here is what transpired:

****** set up another location (Glendale) for me to go, to have my last tire replaced. ****, the manager at the Glendale location called me and set up a time, which was today (8/19).  He seemed to be very responsive and customer service oriented and let me know that they would have me out of there ASAP. After about 30 minutes, I started to wonder why they were taking so long, because I saw them drive the car onto the rack. I then went outside and I saw that there was an air cord connected to my new tire. I asked the tech what he was doing and he explained that he was checking the air on all the tires. This seemed a little odd to me, considering they were all new tires, but I understand protocol. The old tire had been taken off, but the new one wasn't on yet. Then as I looked closer at the tire, I noticed that the tires were labeled "Road Hugger" instead of "Hankook", which is what **** recommended and gave me pricing for yesterday at the Pasadena location. So now I'm trying to sort this out in my mind, as to why another brand name tire is on my car. Were the Hankook tires just taken off or did in fact, the Pasadena location installed the Road Huggers yesterday? During this time, the tech put on the new tire and I noticed that it didn't have the color stripes on the tread that I saw yesterday.  I inquired about this to the outside srv mgr and he said he would check on it. Then both **** and the srv mgr came back and **** apologized, telling me that the wrong tire was accidentally installed. I couldn't believe the dismal service that America's Tire provides and the tire appeared to be used. And lost but not least, I asked both **** and the Srv mgr about the tire brand and that I was under the impression they were Hankooks.  The Srv mgr told me that ******* made the Road Huggers and that probably the Pasadena location just didn't explain that to me. **** agreed with him and continued to explain that they were new tires that Hankook just started manufacturing.

I couldn't take the incompetence anymore and requested a refund for the two tires I purchased yesterday, because now another afternoon was wasted while spending time with the defunct service at America's Tires.  While **** was checking to see if a refund could be made, I googled the maker of the Road Hugger tires and they are made by *****, a Chinese company. I then brought this to the attention of **** and he stated that he would have to check, which he did. Then told me I was correct and that they were still good tires.  Okay, do I need to continue.  However, he gave my a refund for the two tires, which was the least they could do.

Lastly and sadly, per my initial submission, **** at the Pasadena location, who told me that I never purchased tires from them before and when I showed him the receipt, he said it was because they no longer sell Dunlops.  Well, I went on their website and called the location and they do in fact still sell Dunlops.

This company is horribly managed and they lie and they purposely give fraudulent information. Had I known that I was buying those cheap tires for $144 each, I would have never agreed to purchase them.  I'm not sure if getting these tires for free was worth the effort, time, frustration and stress.

      Thank you,

I had went to Discount Tires at ****************************************************** to have new tires put on my car. When I bought the tires on 6/22/22 I noticed when I got home there was a ton of glue on the rims and some on the tires, I figured I would wash it off rather than complain. We were selling our home and moving during all of this as well. I went a few weeks later and tried to wash it off I had to go buy a cleaner that would safely remove the adhesive from where they removed the wheel weights once the glue was removed you can see on every one of my black rims scratches from them trying to take the wheel weights off. My car is a 2020 ************* Checkered Flag edition and I called Jaguar and they said my rims are $1177.60 per rim. I called Discount Tires and asked to speak with the manager ***** said he was the manager and to bring my car in to take a look at it, this was 7/18/22. He filed a claim and said he would take care of it. I have not heard back from anyone so I called corporate in Arizona and left a message. They had another manager from Discount Tires in **** call me and said they would contact me. Hadn't heard from anyone so I emailed corporate's customer relations and I still have heard nothing and that was 8/7/22. I'm really unhappy!

I brought my 2017 Lexus in for its first tire change on 7/16/22, and found out that one of the rims was damaged and its bolts all scratched up, (in addition to other minor scratches on the other rims and sticky residues and tapes left all over the tires/rims).I talked to ****, the store manager, who denied the damage. He deferred/submitted the claim to their Claim Dep., and provided me the claim #IN22055523 on 7/20.I received the first voice message on my cell phone from a ************** agent, ********* on 7/25, introducing himself, asking me to call back M-F during EST. Since then, I've left several messages for him, leaving him my daytime (work) number and email address for better communication, as I don't have cell phone access during work day, asking him to let me know what I need to do to proceed w/ my claim. However, he continued leaving me the same messages on my cell phone, introducing himself, without any specific/further details needed from me, like he's never got my messages. I reached out to their main ***************** (info provided by ****), left a message for *********************** ************ on 7/29 with the details of my claim and all my contact info; and got no response. I called America's Tires corporate office, ************, on 8/10 and was transferred to the voice mail of *****************************, left a message with the same info, and got no response. After providing all possible contact info, (work, cell, and email), all I've gotten so far is the same repeat messages from *********, who apparently refused to contact me at my daytime phone number/email, or at least instruct me what to do to proceed with my claim in his messages. And of course, the same silent responses from the two persons from the main Claim Dep, ***** and *******.I'd like to have this claim addressed and resolved.

I visited the Discount Tire located at **************************************************************************. I had one tire completely flat which I had in my trunk, and asked them to check a slow leak I had been having in one of the other tires. They stated the flat was not fixable, and located a crack in the rim of the other tire that I had the slow leak issue with. I purchased 2 new tires and they ordered 2 new rims for me and I let them know that I would be back to get the other two tires and rims replaced in time. They installed the 2 new tires on my existing rims. I returned a few days later and they mounted the new tires onto the new rims and installed them both on the right side as I requested. Following this visit the car began to shimmy badly and it got worse the faster I drove. It got so bad at highway speeds that I avoided highway driving whenever possible.A few weeks later I had them order 2 more rims and had them install my 2 old tires onto the new rims and asked them to rebalance the ones they installed initially as my car had been shimmying since they were installed. They re-balanced them and stated one was off by a little bit and corrected but the other checked out fine. The car continued to shimmy. After another visit for them to check the balance again they suggested I have it checked for something mechanical. After a visit to a local mechanic and the dealership where I bought the car, the dealer determined that the wrong hub centric rings were installed by Discount Tire and they should replace them as the dealer did not have the means. One had also been damaged during installation. The dealer charged me a $155 diagnostic charge and I needed a rental to get to work which cost me $85.In my most recent visit to Discount Tire, they are ordering a different model tire to try and fix the shimmy but have stated they will not be able to reimburse me for the dealers charges or rental. I am seeking that $240 charge and a solution to the shimmy which they caused.

I visited the store located at ******************************************** on 08/08/2022 for a tire rotation.I drive a Cadillac SRX, which I recently bought, keep in excellent condition & is a luxury vehicle, which means it is a very expensive vehicle, I baby it.Upon leaving, I realized that one of the techs who worked on my vehicle had forgotten to remove one of the blocks behind one of my tires, which made a loud scratching noise & prevented the car to move back to exit the bay. I asked another tech to look under my vehicle for any damage, and he replied he could not see any.Later on that evening at 8pm, I stopped to get gas, and noticed a greasy smear on the body of my car, near the gas tank. After wiping the smear, I noticed that the paint had been damaged, I saw some scratches and also several dents on my vehicle, which were not there before I visited the store, and I am certain of this because I had been to the car wash & wiped my car dry myself with a towel. I called the store on 08/09 and talked to the assistant manager who never apologized for this, which should had been the first thing he should have said, he told me the store manager **** would not be in until 08/15, so I told him I would go there on that day to show him the damage. I am requesting to be contacted immediately by the regional manager for this store, as I would like to request for those damages to be repaired and paid for in full by Discount Tire, and I refuse to pay anything out of pocket and be reimbursed after the repairs have been completed. This is a very expensive vehicle that I treasure, and I am absolutely beside myself to see that careless employees have absolutely no respect for customer's treasured possessions. This is wrong & unprofessional !I truly hope this gets resolved promptly & easily, as I have no problem seeking legal advice if necessary.

Getting back on the phone when he called back he refused to disclose his supervisor/denied me access/told me not to call back up there/go to the website to find out/file.

I hereby do not accept their response in saying they will address my concerns. If I accept this type response I subject my claim to be resolved when in fact nothing definitive relative to the damages incurred acknowledged nor any remedy/resolve.  So no I definitely reject their second response in this matter. Thank You very much for your assistance and understanding.

I have been a long time satisfied customer of America's Tires (+/- 18 years) until now. My most recent experience was bad from the start and ended horrendously. I went into my local store (*******, ** ) to purchase four sets of four tires for four separate vehicles... the first being my 2016 Z06 Corvette. The sales people were so unprofessional and had such little knowledge of tires on this visit, that I ended up stopping with only purchasing the first vehicle's set of tires (the Corvette) and holding off on the other three vehicles tire purchases. (I purchased another $3,000 set at a competitor company and I still am in need of the two other sets). I was given a 2:30 PM appointment for 7/27/2022, a few days later, to install the Corvette tires. My husband arrived at 2:29 PM to have the tires installed... and did not leave the store until 6:57 PM- a full four and a half hours later!?! My husband was there watching/waiting until 1 hour after the store had closed. During this time, the tech had a physical tantrum in the work ********, throwing tools around, and making a huge scene because he was unable to install the tires. It was VERY unprofessional behavior! There was a huge window and all us customers witnessed this unprofessional display. (I'm sure your store has cameras as well!) I also have video I can send (no way to upload here) of the tech hammering and prying on my super expensive rims, causing the damage to the outer rims. Photos of the damage to my car rims was taken in your store. There is damage around the edges of the rims where the tire meets the rim, where the tech pried the tires and chewed up the rims all around the rims. I have video of the tech actually causing the damage. The manager's solution: "he knew a guy" that could fix the rims like new. These are super expensive rims on an otherwise pristine condition high end vehicle and I find this VERY unprofessional and unacceptable in both behavior and proposed solution.

Thank you for your attention to the matter.  This does sound like a standard generic response.  I hope to receive some follow up regarding the damage to my vehicle and addressing the customer service experience I received.

      Respectfully,
