I have a torn meniscus and at my Doctor's ****** they provided me with a BREG Orthopedic knee brace. In November 2021, I received a **** for $105 dollars and I paid it on December 21, 2021 for the full amount. I have a screenshot from ***** ********** for payment as well. I recieved a **** for this exact item on April 6 2022. I called BREG and they say I still have an outstanding balance and need to pay??? I told them I paid back in December 2021 and the person took all my personal info and said I still need to pay but would make a note of it?Business response

The company says it has corrected the error they made in their billing department BUT my account still shows a balance due of $105 dollars! Obviously, the accounting error has not been fixed still. I visited my plan clinic with left wrist pain. After X-ray and MRI was given a brace by Breg. This was the same problem I had on my other wrist several years ago, and the same brace. I had no reason to question it. I received a notification Breg was not longer covered by my plan and was charged $250 for the brace. My plan is no longer involved. On top of that, the brace is unraveling badly.Breg is sending me bills and calling suggesting a payment plan. I disputed the amount with Breg and got nowhere. After researching your account, we have billed your insurance, and per the insurance that you chose there is a deductible amount that your insurer is requesting we **** you for the DMEPOS item that you received. Breg did not set the price of the DMEPOS item you received. Your insurance company contract set the price. Please refer to the *** provided to you by your insurance company. Since your insurance company applied this amount to your deductible, we are contractually not able to adjust the balance due on your account.
Insurance plans expect the best possible outcome for their patients, so insurance pricing is inclusive of the service aspect that payer insurance require of their contracted supplier. Purchasing a product in a retail store or online puts the onus on the customer to determine whether or not the product fits properly, is being used correctly, or is appropriate for the injury or condition that the product is intended to treat.
I ask that you please call ************ to set up payment arrangements for the balance that is due in the amount of $250. You may also utilize the online payment portal at https://bregbillpay.ixt.com.

After reviewing your claim, there is nothing to resubmit to your insurance company. We filed a claim with your insurance company. They approved your claim. Since your deductible amount had not been met, they applied the amount of $250 to your deductible.

This company has double billed me for a mid calf boot.They keep insisting that I received two boots which I did not.I only had surgery on the one foot thus only received one boot from my doctors office.I paid for my boot promptly.Despite repeated calls to customer service and emails they are insisting I received two boots and owe them money.Business response

Breg Inc provided a hand brace at the direction of my doctor. My balance, after insurance was $8.08, which I paid upon receipt of the invoice. That was in December, Since that time I have spent more than 3 hours researching credit card statements and calling Breg trying to get this resolved. I emailed Bregg employee ********************* a copy of my credit card statement as proof of payment. I was told she would call back when the issue was resolved. ON 2/14/22 I called again, this time speaking to *******************************. She informed me the case was still open with no notes from billing. At her request, I tried to forward the original email I sent to Fallon. Her email address that she provided, ****************************************** to me failed. So I called back. This time I spoke with Fallon - again. She informed me that the notes on the account indicated the issue is not resolved because they cannot locate the payment in their system and that I needed to provide a transaction number. I called Citibank and asked for such a number and was advised there isn't one. Citibank suggested that I could dispute the charge but would need to pay it again and then call back to dispute it as a double payment. All this for $8.08??? How many other people are they running this scam on? Please help. Thank you.Business response

Breg is calling me daily using a bot that tells me I owe money to someone. I called their number back and spoke to someone that started asking me for secure information without providing me any details of what they're accusing me of owing, other than saying it's related to medical billing. I did not share my personally identifiable information with them. I told them to mail me something to the address they have on file and nothing ever showed up. Their bot is calling up to 20 times a day. This needs to stop or they need to provide details on what I supposedly owe. I will not provide my personal information without knowing who says I owe something and specifically what it's for.Business response

I have looked up your account (for reference you account number is ******** and found that you receive an ankle brace back in March of 2021. There is a small balance remaining that your insurance applied to your co-insurance. I did notice that the address we have on file does not match the address you listed on this BBB complaint. That *** be why you have not received the invoices that have been mailed to you. If you can confirm the correct mailing address I can have that updated in our system and send a new invoice out to you. My son received a brace from ************ post-surgery July 2021. I received a **** in July 2021 from Breg for the brace. I called them and found out that ************ did not provide them with my insurance information. I provided it to them then. Since then, I have received a notice every month stating I still owe for this. I have called multiple times with zero resolution. They state they have the insurance information, but no one will or can tell me if they have sent it to the insurance company. I have received payment notices from my insurance company for what they paid out to ************ and all his follow up appointments. This lets me know they have yet to submit the claim to the insurance company. I need them to submit this claim for the brace to the insurance company and let me know when they do. If for some strange reason I get a notification from my insurance company that they won't pay it then I will pay the ****. Breg needs to submit the claim.Business response

I had filed a complaint late Sept (complaint #********) that was resolved with BREG regarding a **** dispute. However, I have not received an updated invoice to pay the balance from BREG. I do not feel comfortable sending in a payment without an updated invoice due to the issues I've had with them to-date. I am ready to send a check as soon as I receive an invoice with the **** adjustment. I am not able to access the previous claim through BBB. Please advise.Business response
