on Jan******** I paid a vehicle license renewal on the Ca.DMV website. I received a confirmation of the transaction. I received my years registration sticker a few weeks later. I have since received demand for payment notice for nearly twice the amount due and paid (on 1/11/22). The confirmation # from the DMV was ****** and I checked the DMV website and it says my registration is not due. I cannot get anyone on the phone with the number listed on the demand for payment notice. After a few minutes the prompt says they are experience high call volumes and they hang up.

On 10/04/2021 received in the mail my boat registration so that night I proceeded on line E payment and paid the $20 for my boat registration after I was done I received the receipt saying that it was paid and the payment was successful so I didn't worry about it thought my boat was going to be registered and I was going to get the tags not so. On ********** I received a demand payment from the *** saying that my check didn't clear my E check that day I went to the bank and I asked for print outs on the dates reflecting when I did the E payment I had ***** money in there over grand so there's no reason that the money wasn't been taken out from my registration. Called them several times department of motor vehicles registration operations division and talk to three different people one hung up on me the other one just told me I had to pay the extra $60 and that's it and hung up on me last one told me we're actually I ask them why the is it $20 wasn't taken out for my boat registration after talking them to them for a while we figured out that I hit the wrong number on my routing number for my check. I have had this happen before and right away they wouldn't take my money they said that the checking account wasn't good while I was doing the process of buying something online I asked him why I received a ******* saying that it was successful the payment they said all that's a third-party and I have to talk to them about it very rudely said that to me and ******** that I paid the money or they would file a lawsuit against me and I wouldn't be able to register my boat or my ******** ******** So boils down to the way they do business it's very difficult to talk to anybody there I asked to talk to their superiors and they said well they don't have superiors. I don't know of any other business that would give you a receipt saying that it was successful payment without checking to see if it would go through. They should not be allowed to threaten *******

I paid my registration by electronic check in 2020 and by the time they got around to cashing in my account was 5 dollars shy. So I dropped off the original amount $195 plus the 30$ bounce check cost at the local DmV. Months went by and I was still getting notices. So I went to the DMV I dropped of the check at and they said it wasn't there. So I made a request to Western Union to see if the money order I made to the DMV to see if it was cashed. And at that time the lady said it had not been. So I figured it got lost. I went to another DmV the next day and paid the registration plus the 30$ and the got the request from Western Union and the money order was cashed. I look at my paid stub from the DMV and I realized I had two paid stubs for the same registration. So on 12/07/2020 I went to the DMV where I had paid in cAsh and showed the lady and she agreed and faxed off the the two receipts paid for the same registration to the Dishonored check unit for me to get a refund. Never got it.
