    I contacted Sonic Auto Transportation on Monday March 25th. I spoke to a representative of the company on a recorded line where he mentioned that in order to transport my vehicle from *******, ** to ********** it would cost me $400.00. This is also what they advertise online when you put down the pick up location and drop off location. While speaking to the agent, I mentioned that my car needed a new battery and would not start right now. So he mentioned that an additional fee of $50.00 would need to be added to get a driver with a wedge to tow my vehicle, which I agreed. Today March 27th, I received a phone call at work, the lady on the phone representing Sonic tells me "I have good news, we have a driver but the price is not what we had quoted you", so I said what is the price? she replies, "it is going to cost you $1200.00" I said absolutely not. First of all I don't have that money and you advertised $400.00 online and then told me it would be $450.00, how do you jump to almost 3 times the price. So then she replied, "If you cancel or don't except then we will charge you $200.00". I replied, how can you do that and promise something online, over the phone and now your not honoring that and trying to charge me a fee. She replied will there isn't anything that we can do unless you agree. I said I will have to report this and she replied you can do what ever you want.

    Dear Customer, thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, we are only the middleman between you and the driver and have no power to determine the final cost, only to make an impact on the driver in order to make the price as reasonable as possible. As an auto transport broker, we provide a quote for the amount we believe it will take to ship your vehicle. As per our records we have never guaranteed you a final price, and our shipping agent made it clear to explain how transport business works. As for the cancellation fee, it's states in the contract in case if the customer wants to terminate the contract before 5 business days expire it could be applied, however we ain't have any recordings in our system of your card beeing charged.     To whom it may concern,

    In the companies response to the BBB, they state that they made it clear that I would be charged a cancellation fee. That isnt true, if you hear the recording of our conversation this was never explained. The contract that I signed was sent to me while I was on the phone with a representative who asked to please sign it immediately for them to try to get a driver to me as soon as possible. How ever I also have several documents that they emailed me stating that they would guarantee a driver for the $450.00, I was under the impression while speaking to the agent that they would look as long as they could to get a driver at that rate, which was our agreement. 

    Never did they explain if I would cancel a driver that would agree to do the job for 3 times the initial quote would they still charge me a termination cost. I was okay with continuing to wait but when I didnt agree to pay the $1200.00 then they immediately stated we will have to charge you a cancellation fee. Which truly isnt fair. 

    I run businesses myself and I am always completely transparent with my clients. I would never try to hook a client with an estimate to later rip them off of money. This is no way to do business. Honestly they should of explained everything clearly and then worked with the client. My initial estimate was $450.00, I understand maybe finding a driver that could do the job right away at $600 or even $700 but jumping to $1200.09 and then trying to charge me a fee because I dont accept. Is wrong which ever way you see it.

    First contact with Katherine R****** was over email on March 7. Then she asked to contact her alleged assistant Piper whose voice very much resembles Katherine's on March 7 over the SMS and then the phone call with piper the same day. The contract was signed on March 7th with pick up date April 7th. On March 8 I wanted to change pick up date to April 1st and I messaged the same day, March 7th, Piper to ask for that change and she never responded that day. She responded on morning of March 8th with a message saying I need to talk to Katherine. After I message Katherine she started sending me messages like "send 1 to cancel with 200 cancelation fee", said the carrier was already dispatched, then she misspoke and said it will be dispatched [I have screenshots]. I ask her to cancel the contract ASAP over the phone and she said ok. Then she sent another text "automated" message to send 1 to cancel to get charged $200. The company is shady and the price was too good to be true. They guarantee the price for the shipping which is 30 days out, which probably should've been a red flag already. DO NOT refer to Google Positive Reviews as those seem fake. I caught up on those. If there is a lawyer here then there should be a law suite against their practices. Remember these names: Katherine R****** (K*a*t*h*e*r*i*n*e) and Piper(p*i*p*e*r).

    This brokerage trying to pull a ************** I signed a service contract back on 18 December 2023 with an agent named ***************************** when he quoted us a price $595 for a move dated 19 February **** and as soon as I provided my payment information I stopped hearing from them. I called them on 19 February **** to see what the status was and their **** ************************** tells me he will start calling people to see if he can find a companty to move our car. So, right there, that tells me if I had not called, my car would never have been picked up becasue from December to today, 19 February ****, I heard NOTHING from them and now the prices jump to one of two options: Covered transport for $1,500 or uncovered is $1,000, clearly NOT the price we were quoted in December and he attempted to back us into a corner by telling me I must sign the new contract because there is only 1 spot left. Very deceptful and disheartening, given we are loczating to another state in a week which makes his action appear intimidating, dishonest and attempting to take advantage of someone who appears not to have any chioce but pay the inflated cost. I found another company and tell Sonic I am not using them and ************************* tells me he is charging my credit card $200 for cancellation, when they did NOTHING for 2 entire months and then only acted when I initiated a call for a status. I want this company to refund any charge(s) to me and to cease calling me, as ***************************** keeps trying to call me. The contract does say we MAY be charged a cancellation fee but since this business failed to arrange for transport for 2 whole months, we should not he held liable for their failure to uphold their end and at the price we were quoted.

Your shipping agent presented all the qualified carrier options. It is the customer's decision alone to accept presented shipment options. As per the contract - your shipping agent has 5 business days to find a carrier company to transport your vehicle from first available pick up date (which was 19th of February). The $200 is a cancellation fee if you decide to cancel your reservation, which we never charged as well. Thank you for your feedback!

    I won a vehicle on Auction and needed a transport service to deliver the vehicle to my address. January 28,2024 was date I won the bid for a ***********. Sonic Auction gave me a mid range price to have my vehicle delivered on January 29,2024. I accepted and signed a contract for on January 28, to have the vehicle delivered. I was contacted by Sonic Auto ********************************* 7:00am the morning of delivery saying she didn't have a driver to deliver the vehicle for the agreed upon price. That I was under contract and that I had to give her some time. Now, had previously given ********* a statement and gate pass in order for the vehicle to be picked up from Southeast Auto Auction with clear instructions that the vehicle can only be picked up Monday Thru Thursday 8:am until 4:pm. not thinking ********* called me on Friday saying she had a driver to pick up my vehicle on Friday but I needed to sign a contract in which I did. Then she called me back saying that the driver could not pick up the vehicle. I asked could the driver pick up my vehicle on Monday she said no because she did not have a driver. I was contacted by another company and signed a contract with the to have my vehicle picked up today 2/05/2024 and delivered tomorrow. I was contacted by ********* soon after, telling me that she was charging my card the deposit $135.00. I said if you can pick up my car today I will cancel. She said no that she doesn't have a driver but because I went with someone else she was going to charge my card. She scammed me, she knew that the auction company wasn't open on Fridays and used me stay under contract.

Please, pay attention to the contract that you've signed "Terms and Conditions, paragraph 10. If the Customer cancels the order prior to assignment of a Carrier, the order will be canceled at no charge. However, if the Customer decides to cancel the order after a Carrier has been assigned (see Paragraph 9 of ho we notify the Customer) the reservation will NOT be refunded.".     This is not true K******** knew as well as I that the facility was closed because of previous contracit.  I wanted my vehicle in which I paid for transported  asap.  She immediately told me that the facility was closed and I asked could she pick it up on Monday which she replied no.  BBB you have within your complaint several complaints with this company and all indicate the same scenario.  Sonic is scamming customers by saying they have drivers that could perform at a lower rate and then once contract is signed you receive a phone call early in the morning saying ( the driver has a better offer and they can't deliver).

    I have attached documents from your own BBB complaints about this company.  I have sent you a receipt of previous contract signed with Sonic (K********) which should show deception.  K******** knew that the business was closed and called me stating she had a driver, then called me back to state the business was closed on February 02,2024.  I wanted my vehicle and asked if she could have it delivered on Monday with the same driver and the same price she said no.  I received a call on Monday February 05,2024 from a company who could get my vehicle to me the same day.  K******** called immediately afterwards stating she knew I had signed with someone else, I didn't call her.  I asked if she could for fill her agreement she said no, and that because I had signed with someone else she was going to charge my credit card and she did.  K******** as a broker should have her license revolked because of all the complaints she have received.  Again, k********'s original contract expired because she said she could get a driver at a cheaper rate but called me back once contract was signed to say that because the rate was so low that the driver she previously had excepted another offer, this was done on January 29,2024.  She backed out of the agreement and I didn't try to to anything to her or her business.

    Classic "bait and switch" organization....Quoted initial fee of $950.00 / ended up being $1350.00.     On January 9th, I have made an reservation to have my car delivered on February 25th. A guy name ****** sent me a quote in the amount of $395.00, no deposit. The next day, January 10th, I call to move the date and must pick up by January 31st cause I will be at this address after January 31st. He said okay with $150.00 for changing the date. After I was being charged, I have not heard back from him for a week. I had a week left and I needed to know. I emailed him to find out if my reservation is still on. No respond. I called customer service, she said she will let him know. I had to call him today and finally got him. I asked to provide me an update and I needed to know for sure my car will picked up by January 31st. He said he will call me back with 2 hours. He never did til two days later, which was on January 22nd. He said he couldn't find the driver for that route until the next two weeks. Are you kidding me???? Didn't I already told you that my car has to be picked up by January 31st cuz I will be in another state on the 1st February. So he then called me back, said he found a guy can pick it up but i have to pay $675.00, because he has to drive 300 miles to get pick up my car and another 300 miles to drive back. I told him N? and I do not want to pay $675.00 and that I cannot be at my location in another 2 weeka. Makes No sense at all. Stole my $150.00 just to change a pick up date but its okay for them to change my date to later and demamding more money??? They have the nerve saying that they will charge me $500 for cancellation. Claiming they are one trusted company, and no hidden fee. LMAO... I should have read their reviews. I don't know how they 5 stars,, either fake from their employees or people getting paid to leave a fake reviews.

    I entered into a legal contract to have a vehicle shipped from ********** to ********. This contract had terms stating total price would be ****** dollars. I was to pay a partial payment at time of pickup and the remainder upon receipt. I signed this contract and expected delivery to be scheduled. After a few days I called for a status and was advised it would cost me substantially more for them to ship this. The amount they want I could drive to ********** and tow it myself but I really dont have the time for that. I am furious over this as they agreed to provide a service at a set price, are trying to change the terms of the contract and are using my situation to price ***** me into paying more then agreed upon in writing via the contract they provided and I agreed to.

    I reject the companies response for the following reason. Per the contract I received and agreed to the price was specific and even states on the contract can not be changed. The companies FAILURE to comply with there writtin aggreement is a complete breach of contract as they failed to provide a service they promised at the agreed price. I am a victim of there predatory tactics as they know I need to get this automobile back here and am locked into a contract with them. They are price gouging based on the circumstances. I cant afford their extravagant increase on my current Va disability.  This companies appears to have also sold my info as I am receiving many calls a day of people wanting to ship my vehicle for me yet I only spoke to sonic transportation regarding this pick up. I am not the first to be done like this per their reviews I have found and seems they are almost doing this intentionally and if a person cancels based on the price increase they get charged a 200 dollar fee for cancellation even though contract was briched by the company based on their failure.  I will continue looking deeper and do what is required for a resolution to end this behavior for future victims

    Sonic Auto Transportation scams customers. I called them on 1/09/24 to pickup a car from a dealership and delivered to me. I was quoted 900 with $150 deposit to be charged after car is picked up. As soon as I got off phone, my card was charged for $150. Car was not picked up that day. Called ***** the next day and was told driver would pick up car 1/10/24. Once again car was not picked up and was told it would be the next day. I received a text on 1/12/24 saying truck broke down which I'm sure is false. I called ***** and was told he not in office but then he text me from same number 10 min later asking what the issue is. I explained to him it has been 3 days and car still has not been picked up and ask to be refunded my money especially since he wasn't suppose to charge my card. ***** then sent me another driver that claim he would pick up car by 6pm and of course that didn't happen. Contacted ***** again and no reply. I had to call my bank to file a fraud case due to fraud activity of this company.

    Dear Customer, thank you for contacting us. We never charged your card in advance, we authorized it on 01/10 when you received the carrier details in your email. Then, as the carrier had some mechanical issues with his truck, we were forced to look for a new one. According to our records, your vehicle was picked up on 01/13 and only after that was the $100 charge processed. We appreciate your patience. Thank you very much.

    November 9th 2023 The dispatch is horrible. They promise you a certain date for pick up & can't guarantee it. They had me sign a contract and they lied about having a driver. It took 7 days to deliver my vehicle when it should of only been 3. And the worse part is- they called me 13 minutes before dropping my vehicle off. They didn't even give me a notice

    Dear Customer, thanks for reaching out. There is no company at the market that can promise any date for pick up or delivery.  As a broker company, we have to look for the driver and then offer him your load.  Indeed, there was a delay at pick up. Driver was late due to mechanical issues, so that was the reason why he delivered car later.  The whole transportation took 4 days as we discussed, but its hard to foreseen exact dates.  As for the drop off, we called you 2 hours in advance to schedule delivery and you asked to deliver next day.  Unfortunately, we cant influence the driver and his timing.  We rely on your understanding!
