Background: I purchased a 2017 **** Fusion from ******************* in February of 2021 - VIN: ***************** . ******************* purchased the vehicle from a COPART auction in December of 2020 (Lot #********).I am now trying to sell the vehicle, but encountered a problem when listing the vehicle for sale on Autotrader.com, because AutoCheck reported a branded title. My title is clean and CarFax also reports the title is clean. The incorrect Autocheck entry is displayed below:12/07/2020 FL Auto Auction Auction Announced as Salvage, Extent of Damage Unknown I contacted AutoCheck who advised me that I had to contact COPART in order to get the issue resolved - which I have done. The COPART Supervisor investigated and concluded that the vehicle was NOT salvage. She attempted to resolve the issue via email and received the same boilerplate reply that I received from them:***The event will remain on AutoCheck as part of the vehicle's history. We would like to remind you that, as a data repository the source information may not be released as proprietary agreements protect it. These are our recommendations in case you wish to take further action:1. If you purchased the vehicle from someone other than an auction, please consider that AutoCheck shows the vehicle history and the auction announcement has been verified. You will need to work with whom you got the vehicle to try and get the auction name, as they are the only ones able to make changes to the record.2. If you purchased the vehicle from an Auction by the time the announcement is listed on our report, contact them for additional information on the vehicle's history. Please contact us back if you may need assistance with anything else. ***I've told them multiple times that THEY HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE AUCTION, but they don't seem to understand and keep repeating the same info.I now have an offer on my vehicle and this is preventing the sale. At my ***** end - HELP PLEASE!!!

      Hello ****,

There are no state title brands showing on your Autocheck report but there is an auction announcement which has already been investigated and confirmed twice by our internal source.

The reporting auction has not submitted any correction requests to Experian at this point. Also if the announcement got originally posted on our report is because the buyer at the time of the record accepted to buy the vehicle with the announcement. This does not mean that we show a salvage title for the vehicle, on our Autocheck report it clearly says the vehicle has no state title brands, some companies tend to flag auction announcements as possible title brands when in reality the vehicle has a clean title. Unfortunately there is not much we can do from here to make the vehicle complaint with a 3rd party website or application as they have their own internal policies and procedures.

Also this auction record which is not a brand shows under the National title information system as a Junk/Salvage or Insurance informational event, the explanation to this is also shown on the National title information system as follows:

      Explanatory Note:
If this *** has a record in the Junk/Salvage or Insurance information then the business that submitted the *** to NMVTIS deemed the vehicle to be either a junk, salvage, or in the case of an insurer, a total loss. The information in the DISPOSITION field in the Junk/Salvage section denotes what has happened to the *** (i.e., vehicle) since it came into the possession of the business.

At this point in time we would recommend you contact the auction or the company that sold you the vehicle for additional dispute, if the auction agrees to remove the announcement they would need to send Experian the correction request through the proper channels.

      Thanks

This is an ongoing issue with AutoCheck. The people on the phone are trained to lie to the consumer! They will tell you 30 days , call back and they will say 2 weeks, call back and then its 3 days, call back and then its 3 hours. The entire staff are liars if you dont want to help just say it and hang up the phone.

      Hello ******,

      Good morning,

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, as a data repository we received the information from the data source and it was added to the report, the record in question was reported by an independent source such as a body shop or service center that did a repair or estimate on the vehicle and filed a damage report against the *** number.

To help you out, we did an investigation and were able to remove the record through our data source, the correction has been completed, the accident record in question has been removed from your Autocheck report.

      Thanks

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN ACCIDENT IN MY VEHICLE. Let me preface this by saying I have gotten 3 appraisals with Carmax this year and never showed my car as having an accident, I went to get an appraisal yesterday (8/22) and Auto Check is reporting a SEVERE accident for 8/3/2020 which is not true!!! Furthermore, I didn't even have the car in 2020, but how does an accident show up THREE years later. The Carfax is also showing no accidents to this day as well. It is also preventing me from selling the car at its actual value. I went to get an appraisal done by the dealership today and everything is standard and there is clearly no severe accident that has happened. I called experian and they are telling me I have to wait 3-5 business days for a mistake that THEY made. The representative, ******, was extremely rude, repeating herself about a "policy" and didn't care to escalate my issue no matter how many times I reiterated that this was urgent. I even asked if they could provide the repair shop that allegedly reported this accident but they couldn't provide it. Based off the other reviews mentioned under this business, this seems to be a reoccurring issue which is bad for business. I need this resolved ASAP, as this is slowing down my selling process.

      Hello *****,

      Good afternoon,

The accident record in question was not put intentionally on the report by Autocheck to sell reports, that is incorrect. Autocheck is a data repository company, the data in question came from an independent data source ( such as a body shop or private service center) that did a minor repair on the vehicle and by default it came up as an accident on the vehicle history report.

After further research we were able to remove the record through the data source, the correction has been completed, the record in question has been removed from your Autocheck report.

      Thanks

AutoCheck is indicating that my vehicle was involved in an accident, however, they are unable to provide any evidence. Case ******** - VIN ***************** When I purchased the vehicle in 2018, I received a clean CarFax report. I recently listed the vehicle for sale and AutoCheck flagged the vehicle as having been involved in an accident back in 2012, prior to my purchasing the vehicle. When I reached out to inquire, the only information they were able to provide is as follows: 11/06/2012BALTIMORE, MDAccident SourceAccident or Vehicle Damage Reported: RIGHT FRONT CORNER.I sent AutoCheck the CarFax report pulled in May 2018 (also attached) which indicated no accidents, and nothing even reported on or around the date. I then requested AutoCheck provide additional details or expunge this from their record, which they have been unable or unwilling to do. AutoCheck has not been able to provide any relevant information or investigate further. There is no indication the car was involved in any accidents, as such, if they are unable to provide an invoice for repairs or evidence of any kind, I am requesting they remove this from their records.

      Hello ****,

      Good morning,

The record in question was reported by an independent source such as a body shop or private service center that repaired or did an estimate on the vehicle and filed a damage report against the *** number, unfortunately due to contractual agreements between Experian and some of the data sources that they have we do not see the exact name of the place that reported the record here in customer service.

We understand there is no accident showing on Carfax and no indication or evidence of the vehicle ever being involved in an accident therefore the record will be removed from your Autocheck report.

The correction has been completed, the accident record in question is no longer showing on your Autocheck report.

I have two accidents on my cars report that never happened. I have a clean CARFAX report and I have no clue why they would report my vehicle in a accident that never happened. I've tried reaching out and they are unreachable. My vin is 1G1YSD6G5612259. Apparent accident days were on 7/2/2019 and 10/07/2021. I want this erroneous report to be fixed. I have attached the 10/07/2021 when I just got new tires and a alignment. No accident occurred. 10/07/2021, I have no clue what this is as I have never been in a accident.

I called Experian Autocheck July 20th to have a correction made to the autocheck report on my 2021 Lexus IS 350. I was given a case number ******** and told I'd have a response in 1-3 business days. They have not responded as of Aug 5th. There is a damage report on the vehicle that suddenly appeared. The representative admitted that there was no accident, DMV data, or insurance claim data to corroborate this report. They also had no details of the party that reported this information, so I can't reach out and resolve this. Carfax shows no accidents for this vehicle either.

Incorrect Damage Record on AutoCheck Report for Vehicle *****************, ***** CX-5 2020 Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against AutoCheck for a significant error found in a vehicle history report and their subsequent lack of customer service to address and rectify this issue. The vehicle in question is a ***** CX-5 2020 with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) *****************. The AutoCheck report for this vehicle erroneously states that there was damage, a repair, or an accident that took place on January 18th, 2023. I can assure you that this information is incorrect. There have been no such incidents involving the vehicle that could lead to this claim. The inclusion of this erroneous record is impacting the value and marketability of the vehicle negatively.Upon discovery of the mistake, I contacted AutoCheck's customer service in hopes of rectifying the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with an absolute lack of professionalism and courtesy. There were no managers available to address my concerns, and I was told that one would contact me within 2-3 days. However, this did not happen. Furthermore, multiple customer service representatives hung up on me and refused to provide their employee identification numbers, thereby shielding themselves from ************************************* has not followed its own established timeline for dispute resolution, leaving me, the customer, at a disadvantage. This entire process has been highly frustrating and distressing. The derogatory information in the report is false and is causing me undue harm. I am prepared to take legal action if this situation is not promptly and properly corrected. I kindly request your intervention to resolve this matter and urge AutoCheck to correct the vehicle history report for the aforementioned VIN and uphold their duty of providing accurate and reliable information.

I tried to sell my vehicle at CarMax and realized that my title had a false brand due to data entry errors upon purchase of my 2020 ******* Sonata Hybrid. I got the dealership and the ******** ********************** to fix the issue. I provided that documentation to CarFax and had it corrected in the history report in less than 24 hours. I provided the same documentation to AutoCheck, however has been sitting on the case for over 72 hours and are not doing anything to resolve the situation. I've called 3-4 times, to try to push the case along, as my deal for a vehicle (that I've waited 2 months on) hinges upon this trade. 3 of the times I talked to Loana, who refuses to help or look at the documentation that I provided. She refuses to do anything but email the *** which will not provide the requested info because it doesn't exist. My car was never titled in **. She refuses to call the *** or to look in the database everyone uses, NMVTIS, which the *** said was correct. After refusing to put me through to her supervisor, she was super rude hung up the phone on me.
