We booked SPECT procedures for our young kids. During that registration we were assured there are no potential risks with the test, nor we were informed on any radiation risk etc. we would have never booked the test, paid the deposit, or gone through the ordeal of stopping our kids critical medication or filling an hundred pages of questionaries if we were informed (as we should have) the potential radiation risks. Two days before the appointment a doctor friend told us it is dangerous to do any brain scans for kids unless absolutely deems necessary in extreme cases. immediately we started to research online and we found out in **** website that there is big amount of radiation associate with the scan (much more even than in a regular brain scan). We tried to call to verify how we were not informed, but the **** offices were closed. So 2nd of January we drove from far after all preparation as we thought it is probably not true. The office manager even in that day told us it is less radiation than MRI which is completely false!!There are clear medical warnings against brain scan in kids and you can see in the following links and quotes:According to a ******************************* The Lancet, having just two or three head CTs in childhood may triple the risk of brain tumors later in life...Children are more radiosensitive than adults are, and their longer life expectancy provides more opportunity for radiation-associated problems to develop.************************************************************************************************************************* *********************************************************************************************** very clear warning by doctors about a brain scan that has even less radiation than the scan done in **** clinic. Which is done not one but two days in a raw!We left without doing any procedure and ask to receive our full refund amount. **** refused/ignored our requests also in writing after.Business Response

I received zero services from Amen Clinics. We set an intake appointment and the **** representative encouraged me to get a Care Credit Card. She asked for card info and said no charges would be made until services rendered. **** proceeded to charge me $500 without my consent. I requested a refund from the clinical director. She told me my card was inactive and she couldnt process refund. I replied with, my card is active and you can call them to issue refund. No response. Ive tried reaching out multiple times. Ive left 5 phone messages. Ive emailed the clinical director and am ignored. My credit score has tanked as a result of me not paying the card. I will be filing court papers as soon as the court opens, as this company is stealing from me and preventing me from being a homeowner due to credit drop. This company is a scam. Beware!Business Response

On July 31, 2023, I received notification from **********************, Clinic Director, advising that my minor son's medical records has been uploaded into someone else's patient chart. I was further advised this not only was able to be viewed by other care team members that was not my son's, but also the other patient was emailed my son's medical report. I responded to this email requesting to be contacted as i had numerous questions regarding this breach and also listed my additional concerns with the facility and its practices. Those practices being: 1. Not receiving my multi-person discount.2. *** second day of testing, there was a very emotional boy in the room located within the scanning area and he cried and screamed the entire time, I'm not sure how during the "calm" test this didn't alter my son's results. 3. ******* visits and medical reports.4. Reviewing my son's genesight and still recommending a red alert medication for him.5. Being randomly charged for $500 on my CC September 2023 without my permission and for a missed appointment that my husband attended. 6. Never receiving my husband's Zoom link and it "expiring" a week afterwards. Having to contact multiple times to get my son's report, they finally sent *****. 7. *** clinic took his medical records and used the same information and provided me with nothing, but false hope and lies. 8. I've emailed ****************** multiple times asking for someone else to speak with that can review and make adjustments as I did not get what I paid for and even if I had, I was overcharged by thousands of what I was told I would be and randomly charged in September 2023.Initial Complaint

I was scheduled for a February round of appointments. No one contacted me and I wasnt given the correct information ahead of time. When I called the clinic and expressed my dismay at not being communicated with before the appointment I was treated differently. I showed up for the appointment and I expressed immediately how I felt that it might be a scam. I expressed my hesitancy to follow through with the test that I knew had nothing to do with why I was there.I asked to have some of the tests removed, and to have the price changed. I explain to them that I was not willing to have a lot of appointments with doctors and that I was only there for testing. They lowered the price from $9000-$5000 and started treating me differently. Once I received the tests and spoke to the staff about my concerns, I was ignored. I was told a lot of things would happen that didnt actually happen. I was given unprofessional email pictures of my testing with no explanation. I was asked to schedule more appointments that cost more money to speak with other professionals. Even though I had expressed that I didnt want to do that. Once I started requesting a more professional experience based on data analysis and conversation with patient and doctor I was completely ignored.I asked for a refund and I have been ignored. I tried very hard to be kind and professional until I can get my records and some proof of the $5000 testing results. This clinic is not being truthful on their website or in person about the value and validity of these tests.I am dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and scientific analysis of the tests they offered to me. I am a highly educated individual who is being treated as though I am an endless source of cash for appointments that have nothing to do with the tests offered on the website. The website clearly states things that they dont actually offer. I believe their website is false advertising.Business Response

I simply have no words to describe how dehumanizing this whole experience has been for me. I went in and expressed my concerns honestly and first thing. I am not shocked at how your office has responded. Your clinic advertises treatment for Lyme. That is not the truth. You all take no responsibility for your office staff or your actions on the whole. Medical scans, supplements and Doctor consultations are not supposed to cost Ten Thousand Dollars. There has been little evidence to support change or communication with honesty from the Doctors at this clinic. I wash my hands of this place and all of the negative behaviors they exhibit towards me and my simple request. This clinic was created by a media team and not true professionals. When damaged individuals are seeking treatment or support they need safety and honesty.Business Response

There has been no one to take responsibility for the gaslighting from your doctors office. I asked for Lyme considerations from the beginning. A single appointment with an east coast professional will not fix the situation. Your organization took five thousand dollars from me. Your snake oil salesman doctor gave me psychiatric diagnoses that are so outlandish. I have zero confidence that whatever you offer, outside of a refund and an apology, will work for me. **************** and their assistant were irresponsible. Supplements (at a further cost to me) and pictures are not worth five thousand dollars. Your organization had the opportunity to look at my case. Your doctors and staff treated me like I was ridiculous for asking for clarity (better quality pictures of the scans) and proof of my records. Your organization is not qualified to help anyone with the life altering disease of Lyme. You should not be allowed to claim that. Lyme is real disease with real affects on the brain. I went to **** clinic with the hope that someone could explain to me, why my brain is in extreme pain every day from the pathogens of Lyme. I suffer horribly with this brain disease and have begged and pleaded with your people. I want my money back. I want an apology and I want your claim to be removed from your website.Initial Complaint

I made an appt for my son. The clinic charged me $500 to set up the appt. My son went to the appt but got triggered by the infomercial and paperwork he had to fill out and refused to do the treatment. The clinic still charged me the $500 for nothing. I called and complained but they said that the money was for the set-up of the scan. The person that set up the appt never mention that I will lose the payment if my son would refuse the treatment. I am very disappointed by the way this clinic operates. They take advantage of people like me, that is looking for help and instead gets reap off by a very profitable business.Business Response

Order #: ********** dated 7/4/2023 placed online at brainmd.com The package containing the bottles of product arrived with a flimsy tape on the box. The tape was peeling off at various points and the bottles inside were about to fall out. This was not a heavy package. Yet the tape holding the package together was so flimsy that it could not bear even that light weight.I contacted support at brainmd.com They placed the entire blame on *** and refused to acknowledge their responsibility for putting together a sturdy package.Business Response

I canceled their subscription plan back in 2018. Now, they started back the subscription on an old credit card that was stolen. How in the world can they just start back up a subscription like that and start charging credit card that was stolen and have new credit card info I never gave them! When I tried to cancel subscription AGAIN, they want me to call AGAIN and talk to someone who will only do the same thing. This is so wrong on **********. Cancel the subscription NOW! I want nothing else to do with your product! I am calling the bank as soon as it is open. I have emailed you telling you not to send the product, cancel my account and do not ever bill me again for something I did not order!Business Response

We are saddened by Ms. ******* experience by having failed her so significantly. Its never our intention to frustrate or inconvenience any of our customers and for that reason we are truly sorry.
Upon looking into this matter further, it appears Ms. ******* subscription was postponed in 2018 for 5 years, the maximum amount of time allowed to delay a subscription on our eCommerce platform. Upon the expiration of that postponement, the subscription was resumed. We presume Ms. ******* intention was to permanently cancel the subscription at a later time however given the limitations of system, it was ************* to delay the shipment. Again, we are very sorry. If there is anything BrainMD can do to remedy the situation, please let us know. In the meantime, the subscription has been cancelled.
Thanks so much and are grateful for your past patronageCustomer Answer

I went to the Amen Clinics location in **********, ******* (not listed on here as it is a relatively new location). Following the scan, my treatment regiment was rather generic; diet and exercise, but also involved items that incurred additional costs, such as pharmacogenetic testing and supplement recommendations. The communication following the initial doctor visit left much to be desired, as it took multiple emails and phone calls with my point of contact in order to understand what was needed of me to get the ball rolling, which incurred additional costs. I was not made privy to the fact that additional costs would be required and, when I finally understood the process to get the pharmacogenetic testing underway, I was between work engagements and did not feel comfortable paying the additional costs. That is neither here nor there. The issue I have is that I was prescribed/recommended some of **************** BrainMD's supplements, which I took under the assumption that the clinic/physician recommending them had my best interest in mind. Upon the 2nd week taking the supplements, I began experiencing Tinnitus (ringing in the ears; the very next day after upping my dosage) and headaches (the following day after that). I went to my PCP, an ENT, who confirmed no ear or hearing damage. I finally went to a clinic, with the supplements in hand, as this was the only material change in my lifestyle, and was advised that I should not be taking them as I am on blood thinner medication. Further research revealed that Saffron Extract (in one of the pills) should not be taken while on blood thinners. This was a very negative experience for me in terms of communication and I believe this is Gross Negligence given there was a duty owed to take care of mental health and that duty was breached, given the company's brand name supplements were given to me when they shouldn't have been prescribed, resulting in physical and emotional damages, as the Tinnitus has not subsided.Business Response

Hi ***,
I called and left a message to discuss this matter with ****** she hasn't returned my call as of yet. I cancelled the last 4 appointments 2 with ***** (manager) and 2 with ************* I really didn't see any point at all to speak with *****. I'm not sure why I HAD to have these appointments with her. I guess this is a way for Amen Clinics to pad their bill. I had an appointment with ************ after the test was done and after I answered the survey questions. He didn't tell me anything I haven't heard before. Again, I don't understand the concept that I have to have an appointment when it wasn't necessary because I wasn't being told anything new about my son's conditions. He basically used the survey questions that I answered to give him a diagnosis nothing unique was done. So, I didn't a point of having those last 4 appointments. Since, I cancelled on time I am entitled to a refund.
