  CarRegistration.com is business that sends emails that looks like a link to online state DMV car registration renewals. They collect a $29 plus other fees total of $43.38 to register your car through the CA DMV, a process that can be done for no charge at all. They purport to be charging for "assistance" with the actual registration renewal, but it is a poor excuse. The business model is very clearly deception, pure and simple - pretending to be the CA DMV; I fell for it once and now I know to disregard their emails. Their email mat contain some fine print somewhere explaining that this isn't really the CA DMV registration renewal; but I'm pretty sure that all of their business comes from deception.

  The company's website makes it look and seem like you're doing your car registration on the *** website, but really you're just paying extra fees for no added convenience. I was tired and didn't pay close enough attention to the fact it was a sponsored link and not the *** itself.

  This business uses search engine optimization to pop-up during generic DMV renewal searches, and while they do not explicitly state that they are not affiliated with the **** they have cosmetically created their website to mislead the public to believing that they are affiliated with the ******************* and the department of motor vehicles. They then charge an exorbitant processing fee to execute the same registration that can be done on the real DMV website. In my case the only reason that I identified this misleading trap was that there was such a dramatic difference between the fee on my DMV paperwork and the inflated processing fee that they charges for the exact same service. Note the Yelp reviews of 1.5 stars.

  I feel frustrated and deceived by Car registration.com. On March 19th, 2023 I search the *** on my phone, and because I was in a hurry to pay my husband's registration, which was due the next day, I selected the first site that popped up. Since it said "*** registration renewal", I assumed that I was dealing with the actual ***. I filled out all the required information and selected the least expensive shipping option which was around $3.50. I also selected to receive a copy of the registration for a $5 fee. The actual registration fee was only $252. I was charged $300.11. that is roughly an extra $40. I did not see anywhere on the form I filled out that there would be an additional $40 fee to file my registration through them. With everything that's going on today with high gas prices and inflation, I think it's really rotten for a company to deceive people in this way. It's frustrating that I didn't realize this until after I had already made the payment when I could have paid it through the *** for just a small credit card fee. I imagine many people have made this mistake and feel the same frustration I do. I will not be making this mistake again. I will also be warning others about making the same mistake that I did. I truly hope that car registration.com will make this right.

  I went to the internet to renew my car registration and was directed to CarRegistration.com. I thought this was part of the **** I entered my VIN and Licence Plate Number. A fee for renewal was calcualted, so I paid it online $60.17. I was issued an Order Number #******* and a receipt. A couple days later I got a notice from the *** to renew my registration. When I called CarRegistration.com at ************, I was told the money I paid was for a replacement registration and NOT a renewal. They refused to cancel my order or applied to renewing my registration.

  We truly do apologize for the confusion. Per our previous phone conversation on 3/8/2023, we explained how you came on to our website to request a replacement for your registration. However, you were not within the 75 days from being able to renew for your registration at the time you submitted your request on 3/4/2023 your 75 days would be 3/14/23 to renew your registration. We did offer to refund the service fees in the amount of $35.17 and you declined due to us not being able to refund the $25 that was submitted to the CA *** for the replacement. Once the *** fees have been submitted we are unable to issue a refund for those fees. As stated, since we are unable to issue a refund for the $25 we would be more than happy to issue a refund for all of the extra service fees in totaling $35.17. We look forward to hearing from you.

  Date of transaction 2/8/23. I was searching for online registration renewal and this is the first thing that popped up I thought it was the *** nowhere does it say that is not the ***. Then they charged me more than was due on my registration. I didn't question this thinking I was late on my registration because I misplaced the paperwork. Not until I had paid all of the fees did I know they were charging me a service fee. By then they had my credit card information and already charged my card. They should have told me about the service fee up front before charging my card. Then it tells you oh we're not done yet we need your insurance information. Then they ask you for your personal information and try to sell you insurance. I would like my transaction to be canceled immediately. This company shouldn't even be in business.

  On Sunday, February 5th, I submitted a payment of $299.25 for the renewal of my vehicle registration and tags. On Monday, February 6th, I received an email stating that the *** needed clarification of the registration address provided. I replied to the email that same day to verify with no response. Additionally I called the number provided at least 15 times during different hours (all within operating hours listed) with absolutely no response. I then called the *** to ask about the address I had provided to Car Registration and they said that there was no issue with it. This business claims to be easy & hassle free but provides absolutely no customer support on time sensitive matters. Not to mention that the *** themselves stated that the address provided is not an issue. The *** has confirmed that no payment has been processed; my bank has verified the same. I demand that I be refunded/ transaction cancelled in full for false advertisement and claims. Order# ******* for reference

  I completed order #******* for a car registration renewal. I paid the fee for shipping with a tracking number. The confirmation page stated "You will receive a confirmation email once your order is shipped" but I never received the confirmation email. I called the phone number but nobody answer. I wrote an email to ********************************** but nobody replied back. I don't know what is the status of my order and the renewal. My renewal is due today and I need to know the status of my order to avoid the penalty fees in case the renewal was not successful. Awful customer service. There is not any advantage to using this site for car registration related matters.
