1 starI purchased a Asus vivobook model S5506MA-WS76, brand new laptop used it only three times. On the 3rd time of using it, I had it on the charger. The first 2 times I was using battery only. I was moving some photos around and using ****** drive to download some photos. I was sitting there with my laptop on my laptop table. I started to smell like a burning plastic smell. I quickly checked the power cord that was connected to the laptop. I felt that the cord and the laptop by the adapter plug was very hot. I immediately unplug the cord from the computer. When I pick up the transformer attached to the cord I immediately burned my fingers. The transformer was extremely hot. I contacted Asus who has given me the complete run around. They have been draging there feet. They want me to mail them the laptop but don't want to provide compensation for being without my brand new laptop or injury to my hand. They want me to wait to recieve a refund and will pay through ***** or ach direct deposit. When I said neither are an option and I want a check. I was told I have to wait and if I don't accept those payments then they can mail me a check. All in all 30 days to get my money after sending them the laptop back. I feel like they are purposely delaying it so I'm out of the return window. I am still within my return where I purchased it only have a few days now after them draging there feet. It's going back to the store. After the dealings that I have had with Asus, unsafe product, and the non customer **********************. I will not ever purchased any of there products again nor will I recommend them. Yes I have report the malfunction of there product so others won't get hurt.Review fromDavid S

1 starSo for the past 2 days I've been trying to buy the Rog Ally 512gb (2023) they had listed as available for $399, including a noted $100 discount off of it's "actual" price of $499. For 2 days they kept cancelling my orders and told me they don't know why my orders are being canceled and that I might want to have someone else try to place the order in case it may go through. In reality I see today they have the same item now on sale for $649 and it's still available. No discount and not even $499. That's crazy and should be criminal. Either say it isn't available or sell it for what it's listed at. In my view these guys are liars and thieves and I will NEVER use one of their products after this experience. I certainly won't pay $250 more for the product they should have sold me 2 days ago at the price they had listed with product available.Review fromBrian R

1 starOn 4/3/2025 attempted to make a purchase from their online store. First time with a debit card, second time with a credit card. The reason for a second one was because 1 minute after receiving the confirmation email for my purchase, the order was then cancelled. So I tried a second time with a different payment method, and the same event occurred. Within about 1 minute of confirmation, the order was cancelled. I've contacted my bank to make sure that there wasn't an issue on my end, and the bank confirmed that they did not cancel or refuse authorization for the charge, so it must be with the merchant. The customer ********************** representative from ASUS made 2 recommendations: Have a friend or family member try buying it or buy at an authorized retailer. The laptop that I was trying to purchase is not available at any retailer, and cannot be found listed anywhere except the ASUS online store. So I can only assume at this point that they are falsely attempting to sell an item they do not have to drive sales to 3rd party vendors. Unacceptable business practice and service to a customer.I've been a long time fan of **********************, building exclusively ROG Desktop builds. But this experience is definitely shifting my perspective on their brand. They are careless, and very unhelpful when asking for further information regarding 'why' the order was cancelled. Literally was unable to give me a reason as to why, and proceeded with their suspicious recommendations.Review fromJeremy M

1 starI recently purchased an ASUS ROG Zephyrus, and I have had hardware issues since purchase. Best Buy told me to contact ASUS customer **********************: one, eight, eight, eight, six, seven, eight, three, six, eight, eight, I spoke with agent who was literally no help at all. She continued to yell NO at me about 15 times, was little to no help. A complete moron. Then she hung up the phone and refuses to provide help after I requested a supervisor or higher department lead. This is the first and last product from ASUS I will ever purchase. $2000 down the drain. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I don't normally troll or speak poorly but seriously they are garbage and will not help you.Review fromStephon W

1 starRMA process a scam. Warranty useless.Sent my Chromebook in for repair to a front and rear facing cameras. They say 7-10 business days. They created a quote to fix unnecessary and irrelevant repairs for $200. I bought the Chromebook for $290. They then sent me emails threatening to send the computer back unfixed of I didn't respond to the quote. I spoke to three different customer ********************** **** on the phone. They said they made the techs aware that I only want the camera fixed as those repairs are still under warranty. I also clocked dispute on the quote and explained as much again. I was told the repair would be completed and the computer sent back to me. They entire process took a month. They sent me my computer back unfixed and said the only way to do it would be repeat the process. The Chromebook is brand new and should not have any issues anyway. I only had it three months.Never buy anything from them. They hate quality and despise good quality service. They sell products at *******. ******Review fromJason G

1 starASUS recently "improved" their RMA process. This is the seventh time I've sent in my NUC, begging them to replace it with an upgrade because the thunderbolt ports failed again. I had the first issue when they asked me to ship it to a person in ********** instead of the service center. Apparently they're contracting out service as an "improvement." They sent it to the wrong service center. That took an extra week. They have begun shipping with ***** to save money, so shipping that took 2 days the previous six replacements now takes over a week. My computer, which I need for graduate school, has been gone for over a month because of these "improvements." I have owned hundreds of ASUS products over the years. I will be buying from other companies in the future. If they can't do what it takes to make sure their mistakes right for their customers, they can't be trusted.Review fromWayne P

1 starIncompetent isn't even the right word to use. ASUS weaponizes incompetence and plays it to their benefit. I purchased a $700 tablet from them (ROG Ally) in June 2023. I was an early adopter in a product that they seemed poised to knock out of the park. However, as well documented online, their tablet has a nasty habit of frying its SD card reader. After six months of complaints from users, ASUS admitted to the problem and gave it's users an extra year of warranty. However, when my device finally broke last week, I was greeted to the single worst support experience of my life. It's dark pattern after dark pattern from these guys. Their website's chat widget forces you to fill outt a form to contact someone, then (depending on how you answered it) will tell you to just go to Best Buy. They, however, will send you back to ASUS. Once you finally get a human on chat (by filling out the wrong form), they might be at capacity, which forces you to redo the form later. And that's assuming you don't get a "Not Set" error, or an agent who disconnects from your chat. As for the help itself: they agreed to repair the device, which feels inadequate since ASUS admitted it's their fault and have since released a new SKU of the item with the issue solved on it. They refuse any trade-in or upgrade path on the product, so you're basically left to wait for them to repair your $700 device they couldn't be bothered with to design properly the first time around. Awful, *************. I'll be shopping for competitors from now on because it should not be this difficult to get support for a product. Especially when the issue wasn't user error and *they know a lot of people will be reaching out about it*.Review fromEDWIN P

1 starI bought an ASUS MOTHERBOARD model B-E350-WIFI from ******. The motherboard was new and bricked. I returned the motherboard to Asus for repair 10/14 via ASUS return in ****** That was my first problem. The motherboard was delivered almost 11 days later. The motherboard is now with Asus, who now has a further delay because of parts. Asus motherboard are great - when they work. When they dont work, you are better returning to the vendor and buying something else. As of today 10/29/24, I still have no word on my warranty repair.Review fromGianna R

1 starThe laptop I bought off Amazon stopped working almost immediately after the return window closed. I didn't spill on it. Didn't eat near it. Yet there was goop in the motherboard. They do not care, and are actively making it hard for me to even get it fixed under the warrenty.
