Purchased a 65in Vizio on 5/12/22. This tv started having minor glitches approx a month prior. But approx the start of May 2023, our tv started to show a black screen when turned on. This issue steadily started getting worse and eventually would just stay black. Due to my age and not being tech savvy, I waited until my daughter could help me. My daughter called Vizio on 5/19/23 and tech support walked her through several troubleshooting with no success. The tech agent stated the issue we are having is a known issue with this model. Tech support stated if we could send them a proof of purchase, they would either replace or fix the tv. It took us 2 weeks dealing with ******* to obtain the receipt, sent it to Vizio and they called to set up an appt to fix the tv. Shortly after the canceled the appt after they realized the 1 year warranty had expired 5 days prior to my original call. Spoke to customer service regarding all of this and they still refused any resolution or assistance in this matter. The issue started before the end of warranty but since we didnt have help right away from family to remove the tv from the wall mount to obtain the needed info, were now out of a tv and lots of money. We would just like a working tv! We dont care if they repair, replace, credit, something! Versus being told were out of luck. This is the 2nd Vizio weve had that quit working with in a year of purchase.Business Response

Warrenty issue. Charged my debit card $129 for security to return 9 week old tv for replacement on April 25. Now refuses to return money. Keeps telling me I have to contact my card provider. I bought a Vizio TV on May 18, 2021. On May 16, 2022 I contacted with an issue of my TV not working. I did some trouble shooting with the Representative which did not work. They sent me an email asking for my proof of purchase and I responded to that email with my proof of purchase because it occurred within the warranty period. They never sent me prior authorization to fix my device, in fact no communication from them for a year. I finally contacted them concerned over the extreme delay and they said they are not fixing my TV because it is outside of warranty. I explained how it was in warranty when I reported the problem and I followed the warranty instructions by doing my part and waiting for the prior authorization and they said I should of kept contacting them when they didn't contact me and are now refusing to replace or repair my TV. I have went a year without my TV luckily it is one of many so not too much loss but my warranty claim was denied because I didn't keep contacting them after they were suppose to contact me with the prior authorization. Now they are claiming it's too late and out of the warranty period.Business Response

The Vizio .representative told me to buy a new television. I have a Vizio 65 inch OLED which I bought in 2020 less than three years ago. My television has become functionally ..unusable. The television screen tuns black at random for no reason. it is as if I have a 65 inch radio because the tv has audio but no video, And Vizio"s response to me was that because my TV was out of warranty they would not help me and I had to get a new television. I am not the only person with this problem. Vizio sold ** defective televisions.knowingly. Iwill never buy anything made by Vizio again. They have lost me as acustomer. My husband purchased a Vizio tv in January of 2019. It is now a little over 4 years old and the tv has a blacklight issue which appears to be common with Vizio models. Being that this tv is out of the one year warrenty period, the only other option given, besides being told to contact my credit card company, was to purchase another tv, take a photo and submit for a $100 gift card. I reached out to Vizio about this issue weeks ago and just today I was told that they had attempted to contact me in response, but I have no record of that. The Vizio tv is a little over 4 years old and has a black light issue, which after doing research I've come to realize is common with their TV's.
They offered me a $100 gift card as a form of refund which is laughable.
Finally, they lied about trying to reach out to me about solving this issue. I would like them to provide proof that they in fact had been trying to reach me.
Just a terrible company to deal with overall.

they are stalling to give refund or fix because warranty is one year is almost done.TV cost 229 dollars, several issues need to be fixed purchased at TARGET they know repair would cost more than refund so they are stalling for warranty to end! I responded back to Vizio telling them that I am not okay with accepting a refurbished or used television when we bought this one brand new. I just emailed them at 1:30 pm on May 7 2023. I requested from them a full refund and that they can take this tv back or I am more than willing to accept a brand new one that is shipped from Amazon or *** and not some company named Pilot freight services that they mentioned whom I have never heard of before. This is a company that we dont know and they have only 1.7 stars and a ton of complaints. In 2021, I bought a television from Vizio. In 2023 the screen was found to be defective by the company and I received a refund check for $350.96. As I do not have a bank account, I went to ******* to cash the check by depositing it on my ******* debit card and the check was denied by their system. ***** advised me to cash the check at a check cashing place and again, the check was denied. I was informed by the teller that ***** would not verify the check unless I deposited it into my bank account which, I do not have. I advised ***** all the cashier needed them to do is approve the check for chasing, which they refused to do. They refused to put me through to a customer service or account accounting department that handles payments. ***** said they would have someone call me back to resolve, which they never did. I am still receiving unsolicited text messages from Vizio, despite me repeatedly asking them to stop. Even after the initiation of this claim, I still received more spam; most recently on May 5th. I have never once done business with Vizio or even purchased one of their products; they have no reason to possess my contact information in the first place.
