Almost all of our appliances were broken on installation (including the garage door, smart lights, door bell, and dishwasher). I understand new builds come with some hiccups so I'm willing to forgive this, although this honestly feels a bit excessive though.We have also been living onsite for about four months now, and the construction crew working on the active build project has blocked our security gate open for upwards of ***** hours a day, 5-6 days a week (sometimes, remaining open well past midnight). As a result of this, a number of folks have gotten onto the property and done some pretty serious damage to the homes in the complex (some folks have had copper wiring pulled out of the walls, as well as a few instances of folks sneaking in to shoot up heroin).I've spoken with the site manager many times about this, but they have outright refused to prioritize the safety of the homes/homeowners at this point, siting insufficient staffing for the reason that they can't close the gate behind them when not in use.TRI Pointe Homes Inc

Regarding ************** concerns about certain appliances in his home, Tri Pointe previously replaced the garage door camera (door and opener functioned correctly), resolved the Ring doorbell issue, and installed a Smart switch that was on back order. As to ************** dishwasher, this review was the first notice that Tri Pointe received regarding any concerns about the dishwasher. Because the dishwasher is a manufactured product, ********** needs to contact GE directly as noted below and request service. In scheduling service with GE, ********** should be prepared to provide his model and serial number, which are located on a sticker inside the dishwasher door. GE ***************** 1-800-GECares ***************)Monday Friday: 8 a.m. 8 p.m. ET Saturday Sunday: Closed *************************************************************** Regarding ************** concerns about the entry gate for his community, ********** acknowledged in writing at the time of contract that Tri Pointe would keep the entry gate open until the completion of construction and sales in his community. However, at night, the gate is closed. During the heavy rains, the gate remained open after construction traffic had ended on one occasion due to water being on the sensor lens. This issue was fixed that same evening. ********** is encouraged to contact local law enforcement if he witnesses what he believes to be criminal behavior. Hi there! Got it, thanks for the additional information. So just to make sure I have this all clearly understood. Tri Pointe Homes is knowingly and publicly acknowledging that they are prioritizing the ease and convenience with which their construction crew can enter and exit a home site, over the safety and security of the homes and homeowners that already live on site. Is this correct?Further, I did take a closer look at the Tri Pointe homes contract, and I don't see any written language that permits Tri Pointe to leave the gate open at will. I do, however, see a significant amount of written language detailing the security gate that is provided and paid for by our ***************, all of which clearly indicates that a functioning gate would be installed. They are building next to our home and have no regard for the homes already around them. They have a new alarm monitor that goes off at all hours of the night, and when you speak to *************************** he has a crappy tone and patronizes you as you speak. They dont care about the community you are in at all. He is condescending and rude. I got lectured moving or fixing the system was a process and well nothing has changed in almost 4 weeks. The system at this point is a joke and no one even looks to see if anyone is stealing because it goes off all the time. Ill be happy when they are done building and gone. I feel bad from reading the other reviews it looks like the people that buy there will get stuck with crappy expensive homes.TRI Pointe Homes Inc

Tri Pointe has also adjusted the volume and camera zones in good faith. Please understand that this is a temporary situation, but unfortunately a necessary one during construction. Your response is completely inaccurate. I have photos and video of the unit near our home has never moved. It also goes off all night long every time a car drives through the development and sometimes when no one is around. If you would like me to send the time stamped videos showing it has never moved and it going off with no one around please let me know. Keep in mind integrity these days is still important. You reached out to him on March 5, 2023. The BBB is not the proper platform for a productive conversation and remedy. The last time I spoke with the site manager directly ***** was patronizing at best. Nothing has changed on the alarm either frequency or proximity. My reason for BBB communication is the route you are recommending did not resolve the issue and only left things worse. Think twice before buying a home with this builder. We have a concrete wall that has steadily deteriorated over a course of many years. We first contacted them in Oct 2016. They would not take responsibility to repair our wall. We have recently contacted them again with submitted reports from a ******************* and a local construction company showing that the extensive wall damage was the fault of the original builder, but they again would not take responsibility. Had they just repaired the wall back in 2016, we wouldn't be in this situation now!TRI Pointe Homes Inc

In response to the Consumer's concerns, Tri Pointe Homes arranged for structural and soils engineers to conduct an evaluation at this site. Based on the engineering reports, it appears that the soils throughout the affected area had excessive levels of moisture. Landscape irrigation systems should be examined to identify and correct any leaks or malfunctions that *** result in uncontrolled flow of water. This area is maintained by the community's ***, and it is recommended that the *** make sure adequate measures are taken to minimize the amount of moisture allowed to penetrate the soils at the site to reduce the risk of additional distress to the walls. The man who refused to give me his name, that works at the main office in *************, **. I showed up today to put an offer in on an available home in the neighborhood. He walked right passed me without even acknowledging my presence, then proceeded to joke about my appearance with another associate. I was in Jeans and a hoodie. If I could give 0 stars I would. Purchasing this home was a nightmare from the start. Not wanting to take my VA loan pushing back our move in date, failing to tell us that we need to lock in our interest rate. C*** company. Oh and the craftmanship on the house? C*** weve have 2 major leaks in 6 months, walls that werent done painting, no permanent garage doors but dont worry phase 4 got theirs before we did (they dont even live in the houses yet) theyve had to replace a brand new AC unit 3 months into living here. Ruined my first home buying experience. This is from ********************* in *******. All the employees are incompetent. They painted over a leak and blamed the painters for not finishing. Gated community? Yeah no people can walk right on in and go through your side yard, which you cant even lock because the locks are on the outside. Take some ownership Tri Point. I am in the process of closing on a Tri Pointe home in the ******* neighborhood of **********, **. Due to supply chain issues, we chose to go with a spec house rather than waiting to see if a custom build was possible. During one of the pre-drywall walk throughs we discussed the possibility of ordering a front door with a window rather than the standard door that was originally in the contract. This change was approved and we were allowed to select a new front door. I was very excited about this. However, fast forward a few months to our blue tape walk through and the door I was promised wasn't installed. When I was asked about it and provided proof of the discussion/selection/promise, I was told that official paperwork was never submitted and there wasn't a possibility of getting the new door. I am beyond frustrated as this was promised to me and it is not my fault the paperwork wasn't filed on their end. The refuse to do anything because of lead time on getting the new door. I am fine with waiting as long as needed to get the door. They appear to have no interest in fixing this problem and continue to tell me it isn't possible. I am not looking forward to moving in and getting other issues fixed as this is not setting things off on the right foot.TRI Pointe Homes Inc

If I could give less than one star I would. We bought our dream home from Tri pointe. Everything that could go wrong has and they never fix anything. Weve had stuff needing to be fixed since we moved in 7 months ago still not fixed. List too long to share, lights handing by wires, doors wont close, faulty PRV flooded bottom floor of house, constant electric wiring issues, sound equipment installed incorrectly and missing parts we paid extra for. Paint on stairs started wearing down within a month and look awful now. Garage door came off hinge. Worst warranty ever and no communication. This homeowner also submitted a BBB Complaint. Tri Pointe Homes disagrees with the Customer's contentions. Rather than respond to each contention, Tri Pointe instead notes that it completed installation of a permanent kitchen stove hood in the Customer's home on October 7, 2022. The Customer expressed satisfaction. Tri ********************** has two appointments scheduled at the Customer's home to address his cabinet concerns and other miscellaneous warranty items (October 26, 2022, and November 14, 2022). 1 starDo not buy from them!!!!! We purchased a half a million dollar home in June 2021. Weve had so many issues. Our warranty work hadnt been done and were now going on a year being in the house. Our AC unit went out and weve been dealing with 100+ degree days in ********, this has been a miserable nightmare. They couldnt even get the hvac person here for a whole month because its not considered an emergency!!!!! So ridiculous. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR FIND ANOTHER BUILDER. DO NOT BUY A TRIPOINT HOME.
