I was offered a contingent job offer by a company but I needed a background check done in order to get the official offer. I began the background check on 2/9/24 today it is 2/21/24 and they said they are waiting on a response from a county in *************. I have never once stepped foot in *************. They are stating that this investigation will be complete on March 6th which is AFTER my start date they seem to not care that my job is based on this background check completing. If I lose this job due to their lack of care I will follow through with a lawyer because this is my livelihood that they are playing with.Business Response

So **** told me they are waiting for you guys to send background screening report to them which they have yet to receive they told me they were supposed to have it by Wednesday of last week but I guess they have not received it. I am missing out on making money.Business Response

I have been waiting for my background check since January 9th. The completion date has been changed 4 times. It has been almost two months since the background check. I missed my start date at work which had cause me to lose two months of wages.Business Response

For the past month or so, I've been receiving education verification emails from HireRight to my work email. I have no idea how they received my email and they will not tell me. I have called HireRight three times to have my email removed from the system because I'm not the right person to verify education. They have told me they are unable to help me because I do not have a case number or information about the person who requested the education verification. I have told them that the emails look like spam and have no information on them, and that since I'm not the right person to verify, I don't receive any information on the candidates. When I select "no", I'm not the correct person, it asks to provide information on who is. I've submitted a change of email address twice now and I'm still being contacted. There isn't a way to unsubscribe from their emails as pictured in the attachment either. The most recent phone call they said they'd put in a request but cannot tell me if it'll be resolved since I don't have the information. Kind of seems like a broken system if you can't be removed because you don't know how your information was given, can't unsubscribe, and they can't do anything because I don't have the candidate's information. They've also told me there is no one I can talk to over the Education Verification team to help resolve this matter.Business Response

A review was conducted where it was confirmed that the e-mail address noted in this complaint was not located. However, a response has been received to a request sent to a different e-mail address (that contains the letters st), and where a verification had recently been sent, where a new email has been provided, which has been updated accordingly. I drove for a owner operator and this company was red flags after I started working. Continuous threats of ending my driver career. I nevervmet the guy in Kentucky but he was willing to say that I was gonna steal 40k lbs of cereal. I quit a day after the unpaid orientation. The company asked me to bring their trailer back about 50 miles up the road I told them nope because it was a DOT violation. They told me they had over 600 drivers but the cfo came out and drove the trailer off but that was after the company called the cops on me for quitting. It wasn't their truck to demand me to drive a overweight load without permits but it was a nice try I'm sure plenty of drivers get caught in this type of mess. Especially when they begged me to drive the load further. Then lie to the police that I would threaten them I told them I wasn't returning to their yard because it wasn't safe period. I don't trust companies that are willing to lie, and accuse people of things falsely. Makes no sense to me. Hireright was contacted by this company called Medallion Transport or ************ and so far hire right can't email me a copy of the report. They shouldn't be allowed to have individuals make false claims that can affect my hireability. Period.Business Response

Higher right is claiming that I am ************************************. They are stating this on a background report that they ran on me for *********************** the company that I'm trying to get hired on to which have been start date has been pushed back for the fifth time already! I've been waiting on my background check to clear for about 1 1/2 months. Every time I talk to someone they say anything to get me off of the phone. I was told weeks ago that they would be able dissolve the final inquiry on Feb 2nd, but now they keep pushing the date back further and further. I applied for a position with Experian and was offered the job contingent on my background. Experian goes back 7 years on their background check but hire right went as far back as 20 years and reported this to Experian. I really need this job and hire right has done this time and time again. I was harassed by hire right for two weeks with stating I never worked for the employers listed or that I even attended college and graduated. Hire right wanted me to do their job. This could affect me being able to provide a ************* for myself. When this offense occurred, I was 28 and I'll be 48 in a few months.Initial Complaint

I am waiting on a pending background check via HireRight, and I've been told they were waiting on court records from Dupage County in ********. Initially, I was told that there was an estimated completion date of 1-19-2024. That then got pushed back to 1-25-2024, and now they are telling me 02-02-2024. Based on everything I have read and my own experiences, it feels like HireRight does not follow up on these requests. I have already had my start date pushed back a week, and I am growing concerned that this trend will continue. I've also reached out to the courthouse myself, and was told they didn't have any pending requests for me. I also provided HireRight with a direct link to this county's courthouse website. I can't understand what exactly could be causing such a delay. This is really creating a horrible candidate experience and if the new position was not perfect for my professional background I would strongly consider withdrawing my application.
