This company is beyond aggravating to deal with. For starters, they lie about paying you for referrals and then make excuses as to why they didnt. I know for a fact my two referrals completed all the steps and they just lie and say not all the steps were completed. They were supposed to pay me $500 for this, and since they didnt, I decided to close my account instead. They wouldnt let me close my account after speaking to two reps about closing the account and withdrawing all the funds. They lied again and told me I would receive an email confirmation that the account is closed just so the second rep could tell me the same proving the first one didnt even initiate the closure. The second rep just kept sending me articles and lied as well saying they initiated the withdrawal already and closed the account and I can clearly still see there is an active subscription and $300 still in the account. They make me so mad. They dont deserve a dime from me and I will dispute with my bank if I have to because this is ridiculous. I documented the whole chat with the second rep because this is unacceptable to do this to people and I will show my bank if I have to so they stop charging me for my account and let me withdrawal all my funds. Terrible company dont trust them!!!!

Been with company for little better than half a year. Recently, I did a $1000 transfer from my main account (which I have done several times already). They locked my account and now want me to submit proof of the account?!?! Then... ***************** You can make more just by leaving your cash in savings! If it isn't all being taken in service fees. Then WATCH OUT, the agreement you agree to makes you waive your right to sue. You have to do mediation. They drag out disputes but will continue to charge you monthly fees. So, the less aggressive you are, the more money they will steal from you! They are slow with your investments, and even if you want custom investing you have to designate percentage to a stock. They decide when. If you change percentages, they sell and flop monies to represent those percentages! You don't have any way to know how much of any stock you actually hold! Personally, I feel they use this to hide gains you have truthfully made! I don't understand how they are not under investigation for fraud by the ***, or theft with the ***. I am trying to resolve the situation with them currently, but due to this incident and reading similar accusations. I have zero trust in this institution and am thinking I am going to cut and run. If you want to invest. I suggest E-Trade, Robinhood, or some other investment platform. Steer clear of this institution. Acorn says "grow your oak", but hacks the roots from under you.

I tried to close and cancel my subscription on the app at least 10 times and was still billed, it wasn't until I finally went on my laptop it worked.

Everything about trying to use acorns as a banking account is inconvenient. You always have to wait at least 5 business days for any sort of transfer, there's no possible way to deposit cash, and if there's any sort of fraudulent charge they lock your account with no way to access your funds until a new card is shipped to you. Last time that took 2 weeks... I'm done with this company. I've been with them for over 8 years hoping they would improve, because the service sounds good on paper... but it's only gotten worse. I do not recommend ever using them. Just stick with a major bank or something you can trust.

As you've probably already found out from all the other negative reviews, this is a terrible company that takes advantage of you. Personally I've only dealt with Acorns not fulfilling their promise to pay for customers I referred to them. But the other stories on here are absolutely horrible and sad to hear. So sorry for everyone here that was mislead and taken advantage of by Acorns.

I canceled my regular 5-6 dollar regular investments in May of ***************************************************************************************** the ability to advocate for my finances. After I was released from the hospital I checked my transaction records on my mobile banking app and seen Acorns continued to withdraw money after I canceled (I have witnesses to my actions of cancelation), so I called customer service instead of using the app to do so, and I was successful in canceling my payments, until this exact day I checked my bank account again and found out Acorns was still withdrawing money from my account without my knowledge. I called them again, talked to their supervisor and the admitted they were taking money out, they said they have no record of me stopping my regular investments even though I did it twice and even called. Now I have a overdraft fee I have to pay, but they won't refund me for that fee. They robbed me of my money behind my back.

If youre thinking of investing in Acorns .. DO NOT!!!! I closed my account with over 7K, even called Acorns to ensure my account was closed. Instead of funding my account, ********************** withdrew 7K out of my checking account! Now they owe me over $14,000.00 Also, about 6 months ago, I referred 2 people to Acorns.. again the company was a scam!!!! They would not recognize my referrals and I had to call many times, & FINALLY after over a month acorns paid my money!!!

I honestly don't know why people have such an issue with Acorns, I have used them for years and have never had an issue with pulling out mine when I need it and have always had a great ROI. I have not used their Later, Early, or Savings accounts as I am still on the very early plan that is $1 per month, so that may be something to keep in mind, but I have always been happy with them and their customer support.

Signed up for the upgraded account. Started banking with them. They did not give me interests on my bank accounts like they were supposed to. They also didn't forgive my monthly fee when i set up direct deposit like they were supposed to. This company should not be in business when it comes with doing business with people's money. Stay away!
