Thank you for the feedback. Auction.com is the largest online marketing platform of distressed properties. Our website and customer service team are available to answer any questions you may have. Our website and customer service team always strongly encourages buyers to perform due diligence to be sure the assets they are bidding on are in an acceptable condition prior to bidding and winning at auction. A review of the thousands of assets on our easily searchable website shows houses in a wide variety of conditions. This allows buyers to invest as they see fit to best match their interests and abilities. Auction.com is here to support buyers throughout the process. We want buyers to be successful, and not win several assets and not close on any. If you have any questions about finding assets, please contact our customer service team from 7am to 7pm **, Monday through Friday.Review fromDadrianne C

Where do I begin about Auction.com? I have had 5 properties under contract with them. I have closed on only 2 properties due to the fact that they refuse to disclose pertinent information. They hide behind property is occupied to get away with not allowing you access to the interior. One of the properties I refused to close on, I had accidentally come across information that the property was basically condemned due to being deemed a meth and fentanyl lab. They served the occupant while he was incarcerated, yet did not disclose this information. If someone buys that property, they will have to remediate it per *** regulations, and wait on the *** to send an inspector out to investigate prior to being able to live in it, rent it, or sell it. Another property was being condemned due to squatters using the entire house as a toilet and the subflooring was destroyed due to being used as a toilet for months on end. There was human f**** all over the house, all copper was ripped out, basically anything of value taken, even the ***** A/C, sump pump, everything was gone. They knew about this, sellers realtor disclosed it, they just did not disclose it. Now, I have ******* money down on a property that they have extended it themselves, but were unwilling to extend it for my lender unless we pay a $150/day fee! BUT I found out through a contractor who gave an estimate on the property to the seller that the property has horrible water damage and will take an extensive rehab to repair the damage. This was not disclosed, so I did not close on the property. Today I receive a document they want signed stating that I am the issue and just did not close, and I will agree to them keeping the *** funds! I am not signing it, so now I received another document they want signed that is restricting my account! They dont have to worry about it, I will NEVER buy through them again! And, I had several properties that I was going to buy that are on their platform. DO NOT BID, SCAMMERS!Auction.com Inc

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Auction.com is the nation's largest marketing platform for distressed properties. Auction.com does not own any of the properties on the website, and is only under contract to market them to knowledgeable investors and homeowners. The auction pricing is typically well below market value as a result of the individual condition of the homes. Auction.com always stresses that due diligence by buyers must be done prior to placing bids in auction and being declared the winning bidder. Auction.com can not and does not guarantee the condition of the home. Pictures and information on the website is provided by the seller or a verified third party. Our customer service team and the website stress due diligence, and to only bid what a buyer determines is a reasonable price after conducting due diligence. *** retention is at the sole discretion of the seller as is detailed in the contracts available prior to signing. Failure to honor the terms of an auction will result in an account being temporarily suspended, and require a small deposit being placed in escrow to ensure the auction terms are followed for subsequent auctions. If you have any specific questions, please call our customer service team at **************.Review fromAL A

I was supposed to close today, Sep 18, on a house purchased via Auction.com. I reached out to auction.com and the closing company on the 15th to see if closing was on schedule. I got a "we'll get back to you" response. Today, I received an email requesting a 30-day extension for the closing, taking it to October 18. Unacceptable. I do NOT recommend Auction.com.Auction.com Inc

I was considering placing a bid through Auction.com. I am glad I read their terms and conditions. Fasten your seatbelts, read this carefully! ***************************************************************************************************(OR).v4.pdf Auction.com wants you to agree to:A) Purchase a property whose pictures....may, possibly....not even represent the actual property, at all! Specified, agreed: Pictures may not be accurate or current.B) They say, do not trespass, it is a criminal offense. Fair enough. However, given A) above, Auction.com says you must do your own due diligence, inspecting the house and property. How can this be done, when the law forbids it? (Let's fully assume the occupants will not consent to inspections, so your/inspectors presence(s), will be a no-go, under the law).C) They say, you buy the property as is. Yet, Auction.com says that they have every right to post incomplete information, incomplete pictures, and you agree based on your own due diligence...which under the circumstances above....may very likely.... be impossible to do!D) Ask Re: As best I recall from a phone conversation with an Auction.com employee, there may be fees involved, ******* Money, which may not be refundable (?) And there is no mention of these fees at all, in the terms and conditions above!E) A last-minute Notice of Sale contract may override the agreement above.F) Last but not least, bidders buy liens and mortgages, not a property. And the winning bid is no guarantee of transfer of title. Pay off the debts, and the title...may?...be transferred? Only a lawyer can clarify this question, reading the agreement. F) Consent? ~ A big business! Few Choices.~Unethical, termed legal! ~ it Must Not Be Legal to misrepresent, taking gigantic money from people based thereon, possibly permanently depriving people (Theft), "unintelligent'" of the pitfalls (ask a lawyer, I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice). What gives? Consumer beware!Auction.com Inc

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. Auction.com is the nation's largest marketing platform of distressed properties. Auction.com always stresses due diligence prior to placing any bids or being declared the winning bidder. Auction.com also markets vacant properties where interior inspections are allowed. These would certainly carry lower risk that some investors and homebuyers are more comfortable with. False advertising comes to mind. If the seller has a set amount that he will not go under than that amount needs to be listed for all to see. My time is valuable and I'm quite upset how this website has wasted my time! These dollar houses for auction are a scam and should not be listed if they don't intend to sell for that price. To me it seems this website has found a way to get desperate people's information by advertising really good deals for housing. But these prices are not true and Im quite upset over the whole process of dealing with auction.com. also why do you need my phone number verified? Why does your chat support disconnect chat w/o explaining why? To me It appears this website is a scam and needs to be shut down. Also I put a bid in for a house, I was the highest bidder but auction.com bid against me and now I see the house back on for bid for 1$ again.Auction.com Inc

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry you had an unpleasant experience. Auction.com is the largest seller of distressed homes in the Country. Auction.com provides a platform where sellers and buyers can meet and conduct a mutually beneficial real estate transaction. Nowhere on the site does it say a house can be purchased for $1. While only a small percentage of the Auction.com inventory, there are houses with an OPENING BID of $1 that allows anyone interested in the auction to participate. The opening bid is clearly posted on each property's public data page. As is the case with any opening bid, this in no way implies that an asset is going to sell for $1. State laws also allow the opening bid to be published. In all cases and for all assets we encourage a bidder to conduct their own due diligence prior to bidding so that they will only bid up to what they feel a house is worth and are comfortable spending. Proper due diligence also involves being fully aware of how the auction proccess works. Seller counter-bidding is fully explained on the Auction.com home page, and can also be explained by calling into our Customer Service 1-800 line. We are sorry there was a computer or technical issue with the chat feature. That is uncommon, but we do understand that there are on occassion connectivity issues. Our Customer Service Specialists are available by phone from 7am to 7pm CT, Monday through Friday for any questions. Sellers decide the lowest price they are willing to accept to cover their expenses and debt on a house. Phone numbers must be verified for two reasons. One, so that Auction.com and Sellers can ensure there are legitimate bidders participating in the auctions to keep the auctions fair. Two, when an auction is won, the primary source of communication with winning bidders throughout the contracting and closing process is by phone. Sellers have strict timelines and it's important that Auction.com can reach the winning bidders. Having the highest bid, does not indicate that the bid will win the auction or is at or above the price the Seller needs. Counter-bidding always stops when the auction bidding has reached a price the Seller will accept. If the auction ends with no bid acceptable to the seller, the house will usually roll into the next auction event. Auction.com is sorry you had a bad experience. We hope this information provides additional insight into how the auction process works.Review fromMike N

Auction.com has a bad reputation with investors. Once again, I showed up at an auction in Shasta County, **********. Auction.com listed an opening bid for $290,000 for a property located at ******************************* in *******, **********. After going to the property, taking money out of the bank, getting delayed twice at auction, the auctioneer informed the investors that the opening bid was now going to be $365,900. This is false advertisement. They seem to play these bait & switch games with investors all the time. It's a complete waste of time for many of us. I want these practices to stop.Auction.com Inc

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Auction.com is the nation's largest marketing platform of distressed properties and markets thousands of successful auctions every week. As such, Auction.com does not own any of the properties or control any of the auctions marketed. It is best to contact the foreclosure firm or trustee for the specifics of a delayed auction for a foreclosure property. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Auction.com is the nation's largest marketing platform of distressed properties. All seller requirements are available prior to bidding. Deposits are not typically required to be deposited within two hours. Some foreclosure auctions do require a deposit to bid as part of the state's legal conditions to bid in a public auction. Bank owned properties do not carry any such requirements or time frames. For specific questions, please contact our customer service team at **************.Review fromEric G

I am a seasoned 30 year investor. This company is a terrible to deal with. I was the successful high bidder on a property. Sent in all paperwork and made my wire deposit on time, within two hours as required by them. I receive a call hours later stating they are relisting it due to "Technical Difficulties". The banks balance owed (reserve) had been met. There were other bidders and I was sent emails on what to do next as the successful high bidder. All conditions were met. $5000 Deposit was wired to title company. Then they tell me there was technical difficulty after they had my money and the auction was completed. No one is offering to refund my fees for the wire. All my time was wasted. There is a reason the reviews are so low. Closings take months which is not normal in the foreclosure world. They can cancel the sale for any reason they see fit, but if you don't fill out paperwork, wire your deposit in two hours, and jump through all their hoops you may loose the sale and be in contempt. The banks need to place the sales back in the county's hands. This Private Selling Officer does a terrible job.Auction.com Inc
