I called this company seeking help for a tax resolution. On my first call, I was very specific as to why I was calling and explained I made an early withdrawal from my 401 and my CPA made a mistake on my 2021 Taxes I was looking for a settlement resolution where I was asked to pay for a 495 amount for a consult and for my case to be processed to the next phase the investigation phase. then I was contacted about 10 days later by a "case manager which at that point I had to explain again everything. I also emailed the documents I had previously received from the *** to show what the issue was and see what resolutions and or options I have I spoke very clear with ******************************* in Spanish and explained what my problem was. I never ever said I needed help filling my 2023 or 2021 taxes, I have always filed my taxes timely which he stated he could see from my records. . I was told I qualified for programs that can reduce my debt up to an 80%. I was told again that my case was given to another case manager and I had to complete a questionnaire. When I am contacted by *************************** after my many texts, emails and calls she was quickly to pass down the bucket to a *************************** and stated that until he fills out the questionnaire she wasn't able to help me. After many text messages and emails to ******* he called me on 5/23 looking to help me file my ************************************************************************************* the first place, at that moment he passed the file back to *************************** who calls me on 5/28 blaming me for providing the wrong information. I am tired of this scam and I would like a refund since they knew from the beginning what thsi is all about and can't help me. and I hope this results in a quick resolution. I kept asking ****** for her manager or who was above her because I am not explaining to a 6th person what they should have in file from day 1 for them to help me.Business Response

Alleviate Tax markets itself as a holy grail solution for any tax-related debts you may have, but it's actually a complex scam designed to drain your hard earned dollars. I first engaged with them in April 2023 as a tax resolution company. Fast forward to May 2024, NONE of my tax debts or situation has been resolved with them despite their promises.Their process involves charging a few hundred dollars upfront for an assessment during the "discovery" phase, which takes weeks to complete as they gather information and file power of attorney forms to access your tax files. Then, they lure you into "stage two," demanding several thousand dollars more with assurances of resolving your tax problems based on their findings from the previous phase.I left screenshots detailing experience with them and can provide further PDF attachments of our full conversation if needed. The most recent action item they promised to deliver on was getting my Penalty Abatement approved, but as of today, it's been almost 3 months of radio silence. This is just one instance of their unfulfilled promises; there are numerous other services that they've promised me, but have failed to deliver on.Business Response

Engaged in October 2023 to get resolution with IRS on past taxes owed. Paid in full over $3,000 to Alleviate to complete tax return and negotiate lower payment in taxes owed. After full payment was made to Alleviate, they have changed my case manager 4 times and no reply to emails and phone calls. No progress has been made and my case is still not resolved. I even hired an admin to help facilitate my case and work with Alleviate to resolve my case. This company will not return my emails or calls now and they have not refunded me or resolved my case.Business Response

Had the worst tax resolution experience. I was promised the world and ended up having to pay the full tax liability in payments over a shortened amount of time. Previously I was making payments to the *** and they were satisfied with the installment payment. I paid Alleviate tax $5000 and the only thing they accomplished on my behalf was increase my installment payment by 400%. A payment I could no longer afford. Additionallymy total tax liability increased 25% because I was instructed not to pay my previous installment payment agreement. Alleviates excuse was and I quoteSorryeverything is on a case by case basis and you should really sign this agreement where we screwed you over its the best option for you. That is the most disingenuous response I have ever heard. It honestly sounds like they have that response copied and pasted for all the customers they have screwed over in the past.
I want a refund. I got cheated and scammed by Alleviate Tax. I cant afford the tax resolution that they provided. They negotiated an installment agreement that is 400% more than what I was previously paying prior to hiring this company. AdditionallyI have to pay my FULL tax liability. The company did nothing except scam me out of $5000.

Alleviate Tax was hired on 10/30/23 to help with our tax situation and agreed on the amount of $6,000.00 for them to complete this process. We spoke with ***********************, and he told us they could help us as little as 6 weeks. We were assigned a Case Manager, *****************************. She told us what all we needed to get her in order to handle our case. We did as we were instructed. Every time we called to get an update; we were given the run-a-round. We were later contacted by *********************, and he stated that we needed to pay an additional $5,000.00 for them to a CDP hearing and was very aggressive and rude and hung up on my husband. We did not pay that amount and we were not sure what he was talking about. I reached out to *******, and she stated that he was taken off our case and she said we will not be hearing from him anymore. She then told us that we would have to pay the *** $900.00 a month for 72 months ($64,800.00). We expressed that we could not pay that amount due to our finances (which we provided). She stated that she will look it over again and get back with us. In that time (March 2024) we received a letter from the *** stating that we owe them $51,845.28. I then again reached out to *******, and she called my husband the following day and threw out another settlement estimate of $1,750.00 a month for 72 months ($126,000.00). I emailed her and let her know that we will not pay that amount. We also had to take our 2023 taxes to our CPA due to Alleviate Tax not filing them before the deadline. They wanted to file an extension when ample time was given to have them done. I spoke with ***** (manager) on April 15,2024 and he was not helpful. He stated that should take our money out of the bank so that way the *** can't take it. I asked for a refund/partial refund. He said he would call me back on Thursday or Friday (April 18 or 19) and to this day, April 22,2024 I have not received a phone call back with their decision of a refund. I hired this company over 2 years ago. This was to process 10 years of back taxes and make settlements for the state and IRS.I have had nothing but trouble, people who dont know what theyre talking about. Moved from one account manager to another account manager who again does not know what theyre talking about one of my account manager, *********, who was supposedly a manager. Lied to me and told me that my state settlement was complete, and that was a complete and utter lie nothing was done. The only reason it got done was with the next account manager. I had to tell him what to do. Over a year ago when I mailed in my last tax return, I was told that they never received it, they did receive it. I have signed certification. The same scenario was done to me again about three months ago with ******, who told me that they did not receive my profit and loss and it was a complete lie, and it been sitting there in their mail. I was told again yesterday that they have mail problems that were consist of meal problems for over a year. I have made hundreds of phone calls to this company, and had my calls returned, Ive been lied to about the account managers, and operators. They all have different stories as to why my people are not available or calling me back. As an example last week, I left four messages, never to get a call back. Finally, I called again and was told that I now have a new account person. A ***, who knows nothing about my account and gives me these same old line. (We are just trying to help you.) While they know nothing about what I have goon thru. Will there financial manager knows.I have asked 7 to 10 times to speak to a manager/owner someone in charge who can take same responsibility. No one has ever called me.These people have literally made me sick physically. They are not professional. They are not informed. They are not progressing with their work. They should have had my IRS settlement done along before now. They keep dragging their feet finding more excuses and reasons why theyre not doing their jobs returning phone calls or being professional.This is just the icing on the cake, yesterday, this person *** threatened me and told me if I didnt talk the way she liked that they were going to cancel my account. I have no idea what she thought that meant but I do not appreciate being threatened by that. I am paying thousands of dollars.I am past upset and disgusted. They had a Manager call me. ( Previously they was never a Manager) he also called himself a case manager.
He was uneducated about my account, And just tried to push me around like before.They have had all of the information to process my claims for a year. But due to the incompetence, they have not done so.
I previously had there Manager ********************** to me about processing my state agreement.
I cannot trust these people, they have physical made me ill.

This is in my response to the Better Business Bureau complaint about alleviate tax.
I am writing to express my extreme discontent with the service I have received from alleviate tax company. I have experienced continuous issues throughout the process that have left me feeling frustrated, disappointed, and physically ill.
I find it absurd that they say they will now investigate the issues. This should have been done long ago. They also intentionally do not return phone call and lie about being on the premises.
First, it is evident that the employees at alleviate tax lack a comprehensive understanding of the tax package that I was sold. I supposedly had a manager *********, who actually lied to me about settling my state taxes. Then I have been bounced around to multiple representatives. I have experienced a consistent pattern of dishonesty with alleviate tax staff. I have been missed lead and outright lied to on multiple (MANY) occasions which has eroded my trust in this company and its representatives.
Furthermore, promises that have been that have not been upheld, a severe lack of follow through on commitments made by this company.
Moreover, I am deeply troubled by the apparent disregard for the safekeeping of my privacy. The need for many Power of attorney and repeated mishandling of sensitive information suggest a serious lap of data protection and confidentiality protocol.
Overall, my experience with alleviate tax has been characterized by a lack of professionalism, integrity, and competence. I have interacted with multiple staff members, who seem misinformed and unaccountable for the issues at hand.
The fact that they say in there ( they will look into it) is ridiculously and is way past due.
I have paid this company and there finance company ******** financial, over 10,000.00
To be treated really badly.
I do not feel there is any way I can continue with these people. I want a refund on my money. And a complete release from Alleviate Tax and ******** Financial.

I have an *** tax and due to my current my finacial situation I cannot affort to pay it. So I recieved a call from a guy called ****, working for alliviate tax. He gave me breakdown of how they do help with tax relief. I accepted their offer and I paid a sum of $195 and then he made me sign a contract with UCFS cause they needed a sum of $2,498 for the whole process. I signed the contract with UCFS and now am making monthly payment of $95. I just got a letter from *** with a dateline. I called **** and he said *****, who is my case manager will reach out to me. The guy has not reached out to me. I have called, emailed ***** and texted **** but have ignored me. Am really devasted. Last year, I contracted Alleviate Tax to represent me for an offer in compromise to the **** They claimed to have done so, but provided me with no paperwork regarding the filing. I found out verbally that my case was denied by the **** I emailed and called my case worker, *************************, several times to get details on what happened and how to proceed. She finally got back to me, via phone, 3 weeks later, outlining the proposed pay schedule. I asked once again to have copies of their filing on my behalf, and of the ***'s proposed resolution. She assured me that she would get me these things. That was almost 2 months ago. In the interim, I have received communications from the *** that my bill is due in full. I have reached out to ****** several times, both in email and by phone, regarding this *** communications, and to get the paperwork that she has promised me. We are approaching the ********************************************************************************************** it has perhaps even passed. I don't know because I have never seen the actual *** response. I have gotten no response from ****** or Alleviate Tax regarding my inquiries. In the last communication, I told them if that I did not hear from them, that I would be taking action. That was over a week ago. All I want is the collateral of what they filed with the *** and what the ***'s proposed resolution is. Because they did not appear to render the services according to their contract, I am also requesting reimbursement of the fee I paid them to represent me to the ****Business Response

I received a call from Alleviate Tax on or about Feb 28, 2024 from a Corben, he explained that he had seen I had a hearing with the *** and that his company had a good reputation for reducing tax debt. I have a couple of tax debts to the *** due to a dishonest employer and a non-communicative accountant. I looked up Alleviate Tax and it seemed to be legit, but now I see other people filing complaints to the BBB with the same issues. First, I cannot reach anyone at Alleviate. Their phones go to muzak immediately and no one picks up. I have a hearing with the *** on the 15th of April, and I have repeatedly emailed Alleviate asking when they will speak to the *** and what should I say on the 15th. No response. They are not sensitive to PII issues and do not have a secure portal for my social security number. Even though I paid Alleviate tax $295 on 3/6/24 and $300 more onn 3/18, they have forwarded me to ****************** debt collectors who want to charge me ****** every month. This is a scam. It makes no sense. I want no further collection activity from either company because they have defrauded me. I have contacted my bank about the fraud and they are investigating too. If they - my bank - refunds the money after finding in my favor officially, then I do not need a refund; I just need no further collection activity.Business Response
