I ordered the wrong size so tried to cancel the order ASAP but they dont take phone calls on Sundays. Saw it was not shipped yet on Monday so emailed at 5am begging them to cancel. They responded many hours later that same day to say then they went ahead and shipped it ********* I called to exchange it, was told thats not an option. Asked to return it and was told it would cost $65 return shipping PLUS my refund would be deducted whatever it cost them for the outbound shipping (which was originally free) and 15% restocking fees. So likely another $65 as well plus a percentage of the *********** for a $300 item Im getting charged more than $175 to return it.They said there was a way to add on returns for $10 at time of checkout but I didnt see that. Am told they will not honor adding that afterwards, which seems like an easy solution, but was told by the highest up customer service agent ******, that its against corporate policy.Explained that I was personally affected by the LA fires and to have some compassion. She didnt care. She hung up on **** called again, and even offered to DRIVE the racks in their original packaging back to them, a 4 hour round trip. They said they would still take the money for the shipping and restocking fees.I emailed again, begging them. Another agent ***** said she is a consumer too so she understands how devastating this is but they have shipping insurance for $10 which would have avoided all of this hassle. She said no, I cant pay the $10 now, they wont permit it to be added afterwards. They clearly prioritize Profits over people. Im distraught and feel like no one there cares to try to help me. Their website goes on and on about how they are family and veteran owned, but its all a lie. They are just terrible, corporate greed. I am left with nothing and will end up paying almost $200 to them for it.*********Initial Complaint

I purchased a ceiling storage rack from them. The first set came damaged due to poor packaging. So the send a replacement. Same c*** packaging and same result. Went through the process again and same thing. Same c*** packaging and same damage. Wanted a refund at this point and they refused. Instead said they'd only give a partial refund. I can't use a partial rack.Initial Complaint

SAFERACKS did not want to refund me my money for a returned/refunded overhead storage rack that I never opened out of the manufacturer's box and they claimed without confirmation that the refund was sent back to the credit card I purchased the order on and informed me that if I didn't see it in my bank account that it was my credit union's problem. In actuality the never refunded me my money for a over a 2" by 8' overhead storage rack I purchased from them Order ********** confirmed at ***, Dec 16, 2023 at 7:02 PM.Initial Complaint

I ordered a ceiling rack from saferacks. When I assembled the product I noticed one of the support shelves had broken welds. I called Saferacks and they agreed to send me a replacement shelf. About a week later I received (3) replacement shelves, all with broken welds like my original broken part. At this point I decided to just live with broken piece. I contacted saferacks to send me a return shipping label so I could send them back their broken 3 shelves. Saferacks refused , saying that it was now my responsibility to dispose of them. These are big, heavy shelves that will not fit in my garbage. I do not want to have to pay to take these to the local dump when they sent (3) broken shelves and they were only supposed to send me (1) functional shelf.Initial Complaint

Bought Saferacks through ****** a few years ago. Saferacks says they have people to install but not in my area. So I finally found someone who I could hire on my own to install racks. Not all of the hardware was included and since it has been a few years - I called to pay for additional nuts and screws and extnesion bracket. Jan 3rd.The customer service guy asked for details at least 5 times (parts, email, phone, address, credit card number, etc) thought everything was good but never reveiced any email or confirmation of the transaction other than the exact amount of money stated coming out of my account from a prison.Got a Phone call Jan 11th asking to confirm address for shipment. Called number listed and got a voicemail - left details in voicemail. Nothing Called from my work phone on January 27 - after a lengthy hold I had a person come on the phone. Put me on hold almost immediately and then came back to say they had no record of order. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK MY NAME. She said she asked her supervisor when she placed me on hold - and when I asked to speak to the supervisor - they had left for the day. I was told only the supervisor could see the backend - I asked if they would contact me and let me know when someone looked at the "backend" she said she would forward on Monday. I asked how she would get back to me when she didn't have my contact information? Oh - can I have your email?I then asked if this was a legitimate company as it all seems very sketchy. I really don't think the people answering the phones actually work for saferacks and I'm worried that the company went out and others are using the 800 number for scams.Initial Complaint

Purchased 4x4 and 4/x8 overhead shelves from www.saferacks.com . Their installer stated the 4x4 shelves could not be hung where we planned due to bathroom above and is a drop down in garage. Said may not be strong enough to support . So I decide to install one of the units and plan to return 4x4. I called saferacks and was advised at this time customer are responsible for shipping. The cost of unit is $149. The return shipping cost estimate $100. The site should clearly state customer responsible. It states free shipping so can be misleading. in addition, ****** major reseller will allow to return. If I knew this return policy i would have bought through ******. I also asked for price adjustment since I log back to site and saw 4x4 is for $99 now. This would help me absorb some shipping costs. This is not the right way to do business when the return cost is as much as the product.
