Received no response.6/1/24 Received another bill, with an additional charge on 5/20/24 of $44 and a $5 service charge dated 4/30/24. Our last physical service from Clark was on 3/31/22 - though the billing statment states "Free annual termite inspection", we have not received annual termite inspections for years. We have been a Clark customer for over 20 years and it has been during the last few years that Clark has attempted to fraudulently double bill us. We are paid through 4/15/24 and expect to pay Clark nothing more. We would like them to close our account as we have requested and to stop sending us bills that we don't owe.

Clark Pest Control began termite control services at *************************** property in 2006 and in compliance with State law has performed an inspection every 2-3 years, most recently in March 2022.  Mrs. ******** began paying a year in advance annually in April 2019.  A routine price increase of $4.00 per service occurred in April 2023, but Mrs. ********** annual payment in May 2023 did not increase.  This resulted in the credit balance being exhausted in February 2024 and subsequent balance accrual and finance charges.  Clark Pest Control prides itself on exceeding customer expectations in an ethical, professional, responsive, and caring manner.  We appreciate the ********** years of business, and on 06/04/24 our Manager contacted *********************** regarding her concerns.  He acknowledged her attempt to cancel services in April 2024 and offered to remove the balance owed on her account, totaling $146.00.  We offer our sincere apologies to *********************** for the inconvenience this situation caused.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However, some of the information they included is incorrect: the dates listed were incorrect: we started service with Clark in 2000 and paid annually since that time. Also, on their bill it states that we are entitled to an annual inspection - not every 2 or 3 years. I phoned and emailed Clark - they did not contact me regarding my complaint, This is not the first time Clark began sending bills for months I had previously paid - I have dealt with this for the last several years.

If Clark sends me another bill, do I reopen this case?

      Sincerely, **********************

On 07/30/23 ********************* contacted Clark Pest Control inquiring about our services, and an appointment to begin our recurring ***************** was scheduled for the following day. Unfortunately, our representative missed that appointment and it had to be rescheduled.  The next service appointment was set for 09/07, and again we failed to keep the appointment.  Subsequently, ***** chose to take her business elsewhere.  When ***** cancelled her service on 11/13/23, our manager approved a refund of $110 as compensation for the repeated inconvenience.  Upon investigating ****** above review we found that there had been a delay in processing the refund check, and it was reissued on 12/14/23.

Clark Pest Control prides itself on exceeding customer expectations in an ethical, professional, responsive, and caring manner.  We recognize where we fell short of this goal in Karens situation, and we offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that caused.

I used Clark pest control for extermination/prevention services for about 18 months, when we had rats get into our sewer drain pipes. The exterminator said there was nothing he could do if they were in there, so we went looking for another company to take care of the problem.I cancelled service with Clark in October, and when I called to cancel they said I had to pay that month's service. I said ok, and they charged me $52.50 10 days earlier than the normal payment date. A few weeks later, I received a paper bill from them saying I owed another $52.50 for services rendered.I ignored it, thinking that I had already paid in full and cancelled services. Then they mailed me a late notice stating I still owed another $52.50. When I called on the phone they LIED and said they had performed a service in October. There is no way this happened - either me or my wife is always at home and the exterminator always rings the doorbell before starting service. So the "bi-monthly service" never actually took place, and they were actually overpaid the $52,50 from October.

Clark Pest Control began alternate monthly services at *********************** property in March 2020.  On 10/05/23 ************** performed the regularly scheduled service for October.  On 10/26/23 **** cancelled his service because he had hired another company and authorized us to process a final payment of $52.50 on his account.  Unfortunately, the payment was never processed.

On 12/07/23 **** contacted us regarding the unpaid $52.50 balance, and upon reviewing the matter we discovered our error.
Clark Pest Control prides itself on exceeding customer expectations in an ethical, professional, responsive, and caring manner.  We offer **** our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by our oversight.  On 12/12/23 our manager removed the balance owed from ***** account.

I am rejecting this response because:

      Hello,
      Thanks for responding.
In regards to Complaint #********, following the resolution of the complaint I received a new bill from Clark Pest Control, again asking for payment of $52.50 for ******************* on 10/5/2023.  The bill was dated 12/12/2023.
12/12/2023 is the date that Clark provided a response to the complaint, so it is possible that this statement was sent out prior to their review of the accounts and processing the final payment (which, I would point out, was deducted from my bank account two months prior) that they reported in their response to satisfy the complaint.
I again dispute that any payment is required or warranted, and ask that Clark Pest Control confirm that this statement was sent prior to the resolution of the complaint or inadvertently sent before the account was remediated.
I have not contacted Clark Pest Control directly about this new statement as prior calls to their customer service line have not been handled in a satisfactory manner.
      Thanks,
      *********************

      Business response

      12/26/2023

The statement dated 12/12/23 was in fact sent prior to our response, and prior to the write off being processed by our accounting department.  We apologize for any further confusion this caused.  There is no balance owed on ***************** account, and no further invoices will be sent.

      Thank you.

I contracted with Clark Pest Control to take care of a rat problem under the crawlspace. I would have thought they would have gone in the crawlspace to rid the house of rats. But to my surprise I found out no place does this. They simply put rat traps (that you can buy for $3) at the opening of the crawl space and charged me $60 a month. This clearly was not how it was explained to me when I signed up for the minimum 1 Year Contract. Not only that, on multiple occasions I asked them to have the service representative ring the bell so I could come see what he was doing. Never Never did this. On the very last visit I waited for the guy. I talked with him a little bit. Walked with him around the house. The guy never even opened the cover to the crawlspace too look at the rat trap. Just walked around the house and left. Anyway, as the 1 year anniversary came up I made sure to write to them a few months before the one year anniversary expired and let them know that I wanted to cancel my services with Clark Pest Control upon the expiration of my anniversary. I have this all in several e-mails. And I confirmed my cancellation with them.Still, they sent me a bill charging me $60 after my anniversary date expired. I explained to them that my contract was already cancelled. Although, they can confirm my cancellation on their system, they still keep calling me asking for me to pay the charge. I asked for the Supervisor to call me. NO CALL. It has been months.

On 08/22/23, *************** requested to stop services after his one-year service agreement was fulfilled, and we confirmed that September 2023 would be the last service.  The final service was performed on 09/05/23, and on 09/07/23 our manager sent *** a stop confirmation email.  **** account had been set up for automatic monthly payments, and the last payment was not processed when his account was stopped.  *** subsequently received an invoice for the remaining balance, and on 11/09/23 he contacted our *************************** to dispute the bill.  *** claimed he was unaware the service was performed on 09/05/23 and had cancelled prior to that date.  This message was sent to the branch office that handled his account for review. Unfortunately, it seems we failed to follow up with *** at this point.  Then, on 11/30/23, we contacted *** regarding the unpaid balance.  He stated he did not want the ***************** and was pushed to get it and disputed having to pay for it.

Clark Pest Control prides itself on exceeding customer expectations in an ethical, professional, responsive, and caring manner.  We understand we could have handled this situation differently, and we offer *** our sincere apologies for the frustrating experience this led to.  Our manager has removed the balance from **** account to settle the matter.

      Customer response

      12/13/2023

I am rejecting this response because: No one from Clark Pest Control came over to the house on 09/05.   I had asked Clark Pest Control that the representative that would come to the house on the final visit ring the bell.  The representative that came to the house the previous month did so.  He looked at the surrounding of the house, we confirmed that this was his last visit.  He never even opened the crawl space cover to look to see if there were any rats caught in the trap.  he simply acknowledge that this was the last visit and left.  Now I get a bill for a phantom Clark Pest Control Representative that came to visit the house.

It simply show you how bad this company is run.  Why was the last payment not processed before the account was stopped.  *********** acknowledges they failed to follow up with me in a timely manner.  I never heard from the company until November.

Regardless of their ineptness, I am confirming that no one from the company came to visit the house.  IF they did, you think they would at least greet the customer, tell them of all the benefits of Clark Pest Control and how much they enjoyed working with the customer.    None of this was done.    There was no Visit.   If there was a visit, prove it.    Otherwise, what am I paying for?

Clark Pest Control in *******, **, is a company I have never contacted to ask for any service, ever. They are now insisting that I owe them $130 for pest control services rendered in July 2023. The background is that earlier in 2023 I contacted a sole proprietor for a one-time spraying for ants. He did the service and I paid him that day. I had NO CONTRACT with this person for any ongoing pest control service. Apparently, the man soon after retired and Clark Pest Control (*******, **) bought his business. Now Clark says they did a service to my house in July (which I did not ask for nor is there any indication they did anything) and is demanding payment of $130 for it. I have called them numerous times to tell them I never asked them for anything and certainly have no contract for service with them (nor did I have one with the sole proprietor) but they keep billing me. They are now demanding payment in 10 days and state they will send my "account" to collections and "may be referred to credit reporting agencies." This is completely unacceptable for a company I have never asked for any service at all. This is scam-like behavior although I believe this company does run a legitimate business. I want them to close my account and stop trying to get me to pay them for a service I never asked for.

In March 2023, Clark Pest Control acquired a company that had performed a one-time pest control service at ****** Brains property earlier in the year.  During the acquisition,****** information was transferred to Clark incorrectly.  This resulted in a service performed by Clark Pest Control on 07/03/23 which ****** had not requested.  When we began payment collection efforts for this service, ****** attempted to communicate the situation with our Management and unfortunately, we did not follow ** in a timely manner.

He only sprayed the kitchen and bathroom. A week later I got another army of ants this time in the pantry. The first time it was in the dog food this time it was in the pantry in a cereal box. The technician said for me to put the dog food up so the ants couldnt get to it well how is the dog gonna eat , really!!! I asked for a discount and they said they were doing their job by offering to come again. How many times do they expect me to leave for a couple hours with my dog so they can come cure again. Clark Pest Control has been providing ********* Services for ***************************** since October 2018.  In addition to these alternate monthly treatments, we have completed numerous free callback services as part of our satisfaction guarantee.  Pest activity often increases during the warmer summer months, and we know multiple treatments may be necessary to control infestations. This is especially true when we are dealing with pest problems inside the home.

Our process is to advise customers that they and any pets vacate the home for up to two hours after a liquid pesticide application inside the home.  On 08/08/23 our technician performed a callback service for ants in the kitchen and restroom, limiting this treatment to baiting, and arranged to return the following day to perform a liquid application because that is when ******** was able to leave after the treatment.  Unfortunately, the ant infestation persisted after that treatment.  On 08/16/23 our supervisor contacted ******** to address her concern about the going problem and recommended another interior treatment.  ******** refused this offer, cancelled her service, and asked for a refund.

Clark Pest Control prides itself on exceeding customer expectations in an ethical, professional, responsive, and caring manner. We have agreed to remove the remaining balance on Maricelas account in a show of good faith and appreciation for her years of business.
