Hello,I received an invoice in the mail from Spectrum Billing Services per the uploaded pdf file I have attached with this complaint. I never made this phone call, it was most likely a person who has used my name and address with a false credit card trying to impersonate **** notice this has happened to numerous others who made a similar complaint with Spectrum Billing Services. I also notice their charges have been cancelled so if you could please help me to get mine cancelled and also provide any details about the impersonator or situation that would be great.Thank you kindly.

Spectrum Billing Services (SBS) operates a national pay-per-call telephone network offering incoming callers entertainment and information services. According to the terms of service on these pay-per-call transactions, the calling party is advised that if the charge incurred for a call transaction fails to settle on the credit card or debit card presented by the caller for payment, then the party will be billed directly for the service provided.

The charge directed to ************ was the result of a call made to the pay-per-call services on April 23, 2024. To access the service, the caller presented a debit card ending in the four digits 2053 issued through ***************** ***** Bank N.A. The call indicated it originated from the telephone number (702) 91x-xx53. The charge was declined by the payment card that had been presented by the caller. An invoice was thereafter directed to ************ based on a telephone number lookup service which identified him as the subscriber of the telephone number that originated the call transaction.

Following receipt of this BBB complaint, the transaction was reviewed. The charge to ************ has been removed and the balance has been reduced to zero. ************ will not be sent any further billings on this transaction and there was no reporting of the transaction to any credit reporting agencies.

We received a scam letter from Spectrum Billing Services, **********************************, alleging we own a phone number that has made illicit phone calls, totaling $310.49 in charges. Invoice *******, account number *******. We have never owned that phone number and the fact that we even have to take time out of our busy lives to address this sort of scam is nonsense. Then we look SBS up via BBB and see they have done this thousands of times to other unwitting citizens with a fake response about how they made a mistake. No...sorry, it's a scam. If this does not stop we will gladly initiate a class action lawsuit on behalf of others and/or file criminal charges and begin a social media campaign to end this sort of wasteful harassment and war on innocent consumers.

I received a "STATEMENT" on 04/08/2024 reminding me I didn't make a payment on a previous invoice, #*******, for the amount of $183.67, dated 03/12/2024, which I never received. I called Billing Services to inquire about the charge. The information they gave me was that the charge was for a chat line call, made on 02/02/2024. The phone number that was used to make the call ended in 7473, which is the last four digits of my phone but they refused to give me the area code and the prefix. Next, I they told me the last 4 digits of the credit card used to make the payment. It was 5471. I have never had a card with those four digits. The they said they had a recording of the call. I asked if I could listen and they obliged. They was a woman and a man. The woman did most of the talking and the other person did not say much and when they did talk it was a whisper and he had a smoker's cough. I said to the woman from the business that the voice was not mine, to which she replied, "Yes it is, that's your voice." At the end of conversation, I said listen carefully to me. I don't call hetrosexual chat lines because I'm gay, in a relationship for ********************************* talking dirty to anyone. At that instance, she ended the call. They was no resolution. I would like to have my name removed from their files and if they have reported me to any of the credit reporting companies, contact them and remove the information they submitted.

I received a notification from Spectrum Billing Services March 7 2024 for $244.76 for long distance calling card services used. They gave me the name on the account which was not my name but my husband's and said the phone number associated with the calling card but the number is a cell phone number that belongs to my son serving in the military overseas. When I advised them that this was a scam they became defensive and were unable to provide me any other information as to when where or who the original services were provided from.
