This company is a SCAM!!! Their website is vague and only one person answers phones and never transfers the call to anyone. It's supposed to be a law firm but when you research everyone that works there, NONE of them are lawyers. One is a realtor. Two are insurance agents. But no attorneys. They have no social media at all, and I am pretty sure these are fake names and burner/spoofed phones because when you call back, it goes straight to a generic voice mail asking you to leave a message. Who knows where they are actually located. They called threatening to *** me over an old debt ... one that was paid and one that is SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD!!! That's 11 years past the statute of limitations. They fraudulently obtained my signature and took a significant amount of money out of my bank accts. The charges were not for a law firm, nor for the creditor that they called their client. They did not obtain a legal signature from me. I immediately canceled the card (because they managed to charge it twice) and took additional steps to protect myself. If you get a call stating that someone is filing a claim against you (in your county) call the country courthouse and ask for yourself. Lock your credit files. Lock your cards (if you have that ability) and take steps to protect yourself because chances are they will have at least one piece of information that is correct. These people are scammers and they use threats and scare tactics to blackmail you out of money. They are not attorneys. They are not mediators. They are SCAMMERS!!! They are buying information off the Dark Web and using it to steal money from people. Do not confirm or deny any information. They will tell you they have your social security number and ask you about old debts and then gaslight you and passive aggressively try to guilt you into not paying your debts. It's quite the elaborate scheme they are running.

Received a call from this number and this is the message that was left: Hello this urgent message is intended for to file case number is ***** my name is **** I'm contacting you in reference to complete that has been forwarded to my office the phone number provided by the firm is ********** failure to correspond may result in the from proceeding forward and making a decision without your consent please be warned call is being logged and it will be submitted as proof that ****** has been notified of the possible pending actions being filed against. When researching the 844 number I found the company. Its Midland Group. They MUST tell you that they are calling in an attempt to collect on a debt. REPORT THEM. They get fined heavily for each time they make a call like this. It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you dont owe or that it is paid. FDCPA requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditors name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the mini-******* telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail. I have asked them to stop calling and they just started calling my elderly mother and other relatives.

Midland Group called me on 10/30/23 stating that I needed to call them back as soon as possible and gave me a case # for reference. They stated that I had a pending complaint against me and that they would be filing a lawsuit against me for fraud on a credit card. They stated that I owe ***** ********** ****** dollars and they were willing to settle with me for ***** dollars. I told the lady on the phone that I don't have any accounts with **************** and that I never had a **** of America. I asked for documentation of this supposed debt but she said I couldn't get that until I am served by the courts. I wouldn't give her any personal information and she continued to try and use scare tactics to get me to settle a debt I don't owe and didn't show up on my credit report. They continue to call my family and friends threatening a lawsuit but still will not provide me with any documentation other than stating if I agree to settle the debt for $350 dollars they'll stop the court proceedings. I checked with my local court jurisdiction and they have not seen any civil claims filed against me nor have I been served with anything or received any debt validation letter from them. I will not pay a debt that I don't owe nor will I give out personal information to anyone seeking to collect money without documentation. I think this is a scam.

Midland Group and Associates LLC has been calling and harassing myself, my wife, family, and wifes family talking about how Im going to be sued and throw in prison. However they did not call me first. They called my family, my wife, and then me. They did not specify why and required I give them social security numbers, place of work, address, and even asked what car I drove. I have no information and requested that they give reasons why I am being pursued. No reasons given and no further information provided on either side. They are now going to extreme lengths to contact my in-laws and even my ex-wife. Its all scare tactics to get money out of you. Apparently Im going to be served papers again tomorrow. We shall see. Callers number is now blocked and reported to my mobile carrier.

I was contacted on March 28th by a process server who stated they were attempting to serve me paperwork. For addition information I was instructed to contact Midland Group with a case number. Called Midlang Group and they confirmed they were attempting to serve me documents regarding a civil suit. A ***** hour window between ****pm was the agreed range to receive said documents. No one showed. On June 5th I was called again by a process server attempting to serve me documents. Called MG again and they stated the same as before regarding a debit from 2006. I agreed to receive documents on June 8th between 3-5, no one showed again. Scare tactics and threats with no delivery. This is an illegal tactic to attempt to collect a debit long past the statute of limitations with no validation being provided. Filing this complaint for other consumers to beware!

This toll free number keeps calling my family and myself stating that legal action is going to be taken if I dont respond. I have asked repeatedly for them to stop calling my phone as well as family members. I do not have any collections accounts and this is a scam.
