I enrolled into the **** program December of 2023; at the same time, I was seeing a physical therapist for a shoulder injury. I was informed by my physical therapist that I needed an MRI and possibly surgery. After hearing this I withdrew from **** knowing I would be unable to pay for both the school and medical bills. I attended 5 weeks of ****; the program is 6-9 months therefore I attended roughly 20% of the program. The school informed me that I accumulated 8,776.50$ of the school's tuition, the program costs 14,530.00$, therefore according to the school and their contract, which I signed under a false pretense, I accumulated 60% of the tuition while only attending 20% of the program. Before I signed the contract and enrolled into the program I spoke with Director of Admissions and asked him if there would be any financial repercussions if I had to withdraw from the program due to an emergency; he promised me that if I did not complete more than 60% of the program there will be no monetary repercussions, I would only pay for the portion of the program I attended and would pay no extra money. Well, I was lied to. I have paid roughly 5,000$ to this school and I'm still being charged monthly. I have been attempting to contact the Institutional Director for the past year, I left 15 messages before he returned my call informing me that he will bring my case to the ************ where they decide the outcome of my withdrawal, he told me he would call me back the next week. It's been three months; I have left over ****************************************************** back. During this time waiting for the school to respond, I went to the ** and found out I have chronic Colitis, I received an MRI, underwent a major shoulder surgery, and attended 3 months of physical therapy. I have thousands of dollars of medical bills, this school is forcing me to pay for a product I did not receive, I am very close to bankruptcy I don't know what else to do, that is why I am posting.Business Response

This feedback is unfortunately not the whole story. Elijiah disappeared for 7 months. We tried calling him 14x over 7 months and he never picked up the phone. When we finally got him on the phone we explained to him
how many times we tried to reach him. He understood this. We then processed his refund per the terms of our Enrollment Agreement and repaid his lender ********. He never took out a **** with our school his loan is with ********. From our perspective this refund was granted. If his loan has not been closed out, he needs to take that up with ********. WE have confirmation that his refund check was sent to and received by Meritize.

I spoke with ******* ******* Director of Admission to have my son enrolled with ****, and paid $4,020 Down pmt on May 9, 2023, and $285 for Mix with the Masters, then $9,700 would be on Tuition Options Loan for a Music Production Program which we have been paying to avoid affecting my son's credit. We were promised a Professional studio training which all of it has been a bad frustrating experience, he was assigned to mentor which was very disappointing, he was hardly available for sessions, and sometimes had other students with him and not doing the one-on-one as promised, he lack structure of teaching so we requested another mentor, and it has been a nightmare to work with ******* *******, it took him several months to find him a mentor then when he found one, we went to meet him, mentor told us he was very ill which was not appropriate to approve this mentor. I spoke immediately with ******* and it took him a few more months and didn't find anything in my City, instead he found one 5-hrs away and that mentor only did Mentorship online, and that was the only choice to get the course going, my son started with him the end of March, and suddenly got a warning letter and suspension of the program due to attendance/grades status which they generated on purpose, then when we called ******* for reinstatement he said we needed to pay extra money to get back since graduation date had passed. How could he Graduate if there was No Mentor? And, ******* ignoring our phone calls, text and emails. I called the Director and immediately transferred the call to ******* but never helped. I keep calling and spoke with several guys, and said they will take care if it, that he was escalating to a higher person in admissions to get it resolved, he said that was unacceptable and we shouldn't have been treated this way, As of today we have nothing resolved. We are requesting a Full Refund for everything it was paid. Over a year wasted and stressed out for a school that was a Total ScamBusiness Response

**** enrolled in our Recording Connection program, which provides students with real-world training inside professional recording studios under the guidance of seasoned industry professionals. Our program is designed to give students hands-on experience and direct mentorship, preparing them for a successful career in the music industry. However, to fully benefit from this education, students must actively participate, complete assignments, and fulfill their academic responsibilities.
**** was suspended due to his refusal to submit required coursework, which is a state-mandated requirement for maintaining good academic standing. Despite our efforts to support his progress, he repeatedly failed to complete the necessary assignments.
Understanding that setbacks happen, we made multiple attempts to reconnect and assist him, reaching out five separate times to encourage him to resume communication and get back on track. Unfortunately, he has chosen not to respond or engage in the process.
We are committed to helping our students succeed and remain available to discuss his situation and explore solutions to help him move forward. On October of 2023 my son *** C. ******* started the sound engineering program at Recording Connection. We paid the fee for the semester $13610 plus $293 for books and materials. From the beginning we started seeing issues with the lack of structure and proper follow up from the academic adviser, left numerous messages and never heard back from them. At the end, here was no job placement nor any sort of graduation or certificate mailed or any evaluation provided. My son became frustrated and did not want to continue to do a second semester nor were we contacted by admissions or the academic advisers we left messages and sent emails to.Business Response

****** *******, the father of *** *******,reached out regarding Ians experience with our Recording Connection program. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify and highlight Ians journey through the program.
Our apprenticeship-based model provides students with hands-on training inside professional recording studios, allowing them to learn directly from experienced industry professionals. However, to successfully complete the program, students must remain actively engaged, complete assignments on time, and fulfill all coursework requirements as outlined by both the school and state regulations.
*** was suspended twice due to incomplete coursework, as submitting assignments is a necessary part of academic progress. However, after these setbacks, *** was able to complete his coursework and successfully graduate from the program. At no point were there any other issues beyond the need to meet these academic requirements.
We are proud of *** for fulfilling his commitment and completing the program, and we encourage all students to stay engaged and proactive in their learning journey. If there are any additional concerns, we are happy to assist. Please reach us at **************.Initial Complaint

I enrolled in the Recording Connection program based on their claims that: By placing you in a fully immersive environment alongside a professional audio engineer or music producer, youll see how music gets made in the real world. . . And that No other students will be competing with you for your instructor's attention. . . one-on-one learning is the hallmark of ****'s educational method. That may be true for the majority of their students, but the reality was not as promised in my case with the studio in ************From my first official day on 02/12 to my last on 04/09 I consistently had issues communicating with ****, my mentor, and the studio. I never received one-on-one time with my mentor, excluding a short conversation regarding my concerns about the curriculum which he responded to with an invitation to "ask him anything". There was no supervised work experience activities related to skills/ knowledge acquired during course hours. In fact, I was never even invited into a recording session.I had no instruction or guidance on what I should be learning and never looked at my sessions with anyone else aside from my short, irregular calls with my academic advisor. I tried to schedule times to come into the studio but often there would be no one there to let me in, so I'd wait outside until someone saw my text and drove over. Most times another student, would let me in and tell me he had no idea where anyone else was. There were other students with the same mentor, too. I tried to make the most out of my time at the studio, so I essentially taught myself what I wanted to know. This is why I chose to resign from the program.I want my refund. I followed the instructions in the Student Handbook and sent a letter on May 10 to the Institutional Director to withdraw enrollment and request a pro-rated refund of the $16, 075 I paid. It should have been paid within 45 days of the request.Business Response

This was my ****** review that I left because I wasnt sure what else to do. This school is based out of **********, they set you up with a local chef and you do your training with them. I was placed with a chef at a hotel in midtown by maywhether boxing. This was probably the worst experience Ive had in the industry so far. I dont feel like Ive learned much of anything. You pay for a textbook and some instructional videos as well as regular tuition which is expensive to say the least. I was essentially just used as a prep cook, there was no art to the culinary. The chef was unmotivated, unfocused, and would bring her personal issues to the restaurant, which ended up making 80% of her staff quit. Ive learned more on ******* and others in the culinary community. I feel scammed, I feel cheated. This is not worth it. Find a job in a real kitchen, learn that way. Before i can advocate for this school, they need to vet their chefs better. Because this chefs reputation around ********* and in her own restaurant is questionable to say the least. Ill be paying off this loan for at least a decade and it was all for nothing. I am no longer in contact with staff from the school or restaurant as its just not worth the headache. With that being said Im not sure what else I could do against this program. I used to owe $13,000 now I owe $14,000 due to interest and again I feel like I was cheated out of an education and my funds. I did not receive the education I believed I would receive and I feel completely lied to. After speaking with the school I was told nothing could be done. Ive never sent a complaint before so if I need other documents please let me know. I will be seeing if I can pursue other avenues if this is not the proper channel.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I havent received a call from a 310 number. I also havent been able to hear back from UAS or Climb, and when they responded to my **** complaint they blatantly lied and said that I did not contact them, so I will also be following up with that. In response to your comments about the chef, regardless of her so called hundreds of students and her status, neither of which seems to be true as again Ive only heard bad things coming from other chefs in ********* and from others who worked under her. She created a hostile work environment which is why 90% of her staff quit within a few weeks of each other. And again I dont believe I received the education I paid for. I wont go into her personal life but from what I heard she made her personal issues everyone elses problem which is why everyone abandoned her. It wasnt until I spoke up that she seems to have changed her tone and attitude from what Ive heard from the very few people who still worked there after I left. I understand you want to stand by your instructors however this is not one that deserves it.
Sincerely,

******* received comprehensive hands-on training through our culinary apprenticeship program, where he worked inside a real, professional kitchen under the guidance of a celebrated celebrity chef. This mentor has trained hundreds of successful culinary professionals and is widely recognized as an industry leader, committed to both the craft and the success of our students. Through this program, [Student's Name] had the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a high-caliber culinary environment.
As part of this experience, he was hired by his mentor at The Henley, one of the most prominent restaurants in *********, **. This opportunity allowed him to build critical skills in a real working kitchen. Unfortunately, his employment was later terminated by his supervisor due to misconduct on the job.
Despite this, our school remained committed to his success. We extended four additional paid opportunities to him, ensuring he had every chance to continue his professional development. However, despite our repeated outreach, he chose not to respond or engage with these opportunities.
We take pride in providing our students with top-tier mentorship and career pathways, and we are always available to support them in achieving their goals. If [Student's Name] would like to discuss this matter further or explore future opportunities, we are happy to help. Please reach us at **************.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Its completely false. I was not terminated, I quit because Chef ********* was taking out her personal issues on her staff. Others saw it and quit as well. It was a mass exodus of her wait staff, her line cooks, bartenders and managers and I can provide names and witnesses. But Im not going to sit here and have you tarnish my name when I have several great recommendations. Youre a **** poor company and a very shady school and it trickles down to your instructors. We can simply close this case as its not going to be resolved. Disrespectful to not only the hospitality industry but to me and any other student who reached out with genuine complaints. I will continue to direct anyone who things about becoming a chef to other programs or even ******* videos would be better. Im done dealing with you people, its been years at this point and no resolution, its obvious that there wont be one. But of course I know whoever is reading this has probably never been through the program or worked with this chef and will simply back what she or the establishment says above me, the student who literally paid to be there. Ciao

I have requested a refund from the business in May due to health issues with my hearing and the fact that going into their studio to learn ended up being me making coffee and cleaning. They have stated the amount I'm owed through email and have a refund clause in their contract to withdraw at any time. However they have not issues me a refund despite many communication attempts over a half year citing multiple internet outages and being in line for a call from their director. Can I get help to stop them from stealing from me + taking a loan out from a coffee shop barista barely making rent. This is ridiculous, unethical, and a complete abuse of their student body.Business Response

My Son ****** Ryder **** started with Film Connection on 3/12/2024 and we paid $14,333 for 6 to 8 months course online and with a Advisor here in ************. Film connection was to provide classes online for film, Editing, *** to help my son get into the film industry. My son ended up the first 2 month meeting with a gentleman named Roman ******** for about 30 miniutes online once a week and he would meet with his advisor for 2 hours only 3 times since he has been there, in fact the advisor was not there the first month of school he was out of the country and I new we where in trouble from the start. After the second month they decided to cut ties with the advisor, and the advisor said he was not getting paid. So I called to get my money back which from day one they said would not be a problem, but now they will not even take our phone calls or return emails. I can give more detailed information, they will not talk to me or my wife and we want or money back, this is a scam of a life time and they need to be shut down. I decided to no longer go through with my enrollment process a week after I had enrolled in their film program. I did this because before I made the first deposit, they were calling consistently every single day and after they got my first deposit, I received no phone calls from them and I was the one that had to reach out to them multiple times trying to get started. Because of this, I decided I was no longer interested. It felt almost like a scam. It has been over two months and I still havent gotten my refund of $700 and the Meritize loan is still on my credit report. I have called multiple times trying to get this issue resolved and I have had no luck. I have never experienced this amount of unprofessionalism. I never attended one class and I deserve to have my money back and I deserve to get help.Business Response

In October 2023, I joined a Recording, Radio, ****************************** audio engineering and music production program. Promised one-on-one mentorship with a real music producer or audio engineer, I instead served as unpaid labor for a mentor 45 miles away. Despite claims of local mentors, mine provided minimal guidance, leaving me to figure out the course's online component alone, and zero actual teaching on how to use the mixing board. Academic advisors prioritized pushing through exams over addressing concerns. Sessions meant for learning were often led by absent mentors or clueless substitutes, who would ask me what I was doing there. I once worked two back-to-back weekends 10-hour days, for engineers that were not my mentors, mine was who knows were, and they both just kind of put up with me because I think they felt bad. Despite voicing concerns, little changed. My mentor's sporadic availability and eventual admission of unsuitability further highlighted the program's disorganization. After four months and a $14,785 loan, I gained minimal studio experience and fell short of the crucial skills needed. This "school" lacked structure and relied on students to navigate its shortcomings. I sent two official withdrawal notices, with zero response, other than the advisor asking to talk to me, which I believe was an attempt to talk me into staying. They can keep the non-refundable fee's, which is $2,785, but please give me back the $12,000, which I still owe more on my loan. I need help, the payment is $307 month for like 5 years.Business Response

Recording Connections is a fraudulent program. Very unprofessional administration. No one's ever at the school working that is in management. They falsely advertise "Job Placement" upon completion of the program it's a scam to get tuition fees I've been out the program for 4 months I haven't been placed on a job and I'm not having an emails returned for 4 straight months. I want to be refunded for the waste of an experience. Horrible staff the mentors are failed musicians and not worried about training any new students. They just want a tuition fee. I am rejecting this response because: I don't accept ****'s response. In fact with this response I hope any future students of researching this program don't waste their time. I provided emails confirming I was never dropped from the program and this response is a testament to the waste of time this program is. They will say anything to mislead others. **** hasn't contacted me since giving me a fictitious certification for audio engineering. Once I sought out the "career services" department the web of deception began to unravel. The "laptop" I was given was a used office **** Inspiron likely gifted to the program through educational non profit organization; ******** Inspiron isn't even compatible with hip hop beat making software, which is what I enlisted the help of **** to further my career in. So although I accept the sentiments of dropping the loan I was charged for training I didn't receive, I'd also like to receive my $1094 I paid for materials I've yet to see besides a used **** Inspiron laptop I was given as a compromise to a previous complaint filed 4 months into the program. I am rejecting this response because: I asked for a return of my tuition fee; The fabrication of their administration is definitely unnecessary. I waited 4 months for them to find an inconsistent "remote mentor"; I received repetitive self help videos all related to the insertion of hi hats; These pre recorded lessons are all recorded documented situations. If the Recording Film Connection program has any successful students that have come through thier program it's definitely due to selective promotions; I can attest that you will not be rewarded based on merit from The Radio Recording Film Connection program. I traveled 60 miles from my home to be "mentored". I had to cycle through multiple affiliates of the program to not only be denied the use of equipment used to music produce but I didn't learn a thing about music production in one of the worst most unprofessional experiences I have been unfortunate enough to witness. In total 10 months of my time was wasted by the most inconvenient, uninformative mock educational programs. I don't know whom they graduated but from my own experiences this program did not help in anyway towards my advancement in music production no matter what challenges they presented an I was able to overcome
Sincerely,
